I couldn't go for very long without my phone. I like to constantly be online on my phone, and doing shit. I would be pretty pissed if I lost my phone, or forgot it or anything of that.
Blasphemous you might say! How dare I ask such a question in 2012!
I think we all know that technology has taken hold of us all, some of us more than others. Mobile phones, IPads, email, internet, Facebook, TFF , whatever else. Nobody is safe anymore!
I've seen challenges be given to families on shows like Dr Phil, where a family goes without all their technology for 48 hours and they actually spoke to each other!
How is your relationship with technology? Could you go without? I honestly am addicted to my phone. It's my clock, it's my calendar, it's how I interact socially (so sad), I am always online because it's so easy to access. I can go without, nothing bad happens, but I like it! With everything, you gotta have balance.
How about you?

Definitely could live without my phone. I suppose I could live without my computer (the internet), but if I didn't have a computer and nobody else did then I probably wouldn't give a shit anymore.
I absolutely love the fact that I can talk to people in other countries so easily, get new perspectives and other things quickly. Meet friends I wouldn't otherwise meet. Sure, if I had to live without the internet my life would become much more central and more about whats going closer to me, but what good is that?
I found my true love online so I definitely couldn't live with out the internet.
I always loose my phone, I seem to misplace it all the time.
I probably couldn't at least go to work without it because I need it for work and just in case something happens with the kids at school or my wife. But on the weekends it goes on my bedside table and stays there the whole weekend and usually goes flat and I don't realise.
My mate usually rings my wifes phone and asks me why I never answer my f'n phone, and I am like meh I didn't hear it.

I could easily live without a mobile phone... I just need it to write to some people, but I could just call them with a normal phone anyways.
I don't like those internet mobile phones anyways, so I don't own one. Even if I did I'd probably not use it that much... ^^" I just don't need a phone to go online. I need it to call someone.
I even thought about getting rid of mine, but you never know if you need it one day...

I could live without my phone before I got my current one. I would just be rather annoyed that I didn't have it. I feel naked without it. I have had a phone since 2005. Mostly for safety reasons. I upgraded to a blackberry in 2008/2009. I can't remember which year for sure. Now that I don't just get texts to my phone, I can't live without it. I get e mails and facebook notifications to my phone. I can also log onto MSN when I'm bored and don't have my laptop open. When I upgraded my phone to the Torch, It doesn't leave my side. It reminds me of important dates, it's my notepad, my time keeper, my alarm clock. She's really handy. I can open and edit Word, Excel and powerpoint documents on it. I can surf the net when I need to. Go on TFF and reply to posts. I'm surprised I'm not writing this on my phone, but I knew this was going to be long so I waited for laptop time.
I can live without my laptop for longer periods of time. Since I am now able to see those important documents that I get on my phone, I don't need to rush to a computer. I am always reachable by any means of communication. I guess you could call me a communication junkie.
With the amount of notifications I get, I keep my phone on silent. It only vibrates when someone is trying to call me. That is the best feature my phone could ever have. Especially when I'm trying to sleep. I don't need to stay awake or constantly look at my phone to make sure I don't miss calls. I can also answer messages quickly when I do happen to look at my phone, which happens rather frequently. I can go a couple hours without looking at it though.
It also stores music so I don't need to carry around an MP3 player to the gym anymore.
I think that's enough about phone talk for me. I love the thing. I bought it to ease the need to use my laptop all the time.

id be knackered without my phone, though Im not fussed what phone i have as long as i can text. I could easily live without the fancy pants apps and internet and shit. I got an iphone and i dont bother with anything on it. Il skive on facebook on it at work when i think i might get caught skiving on facebook on the pc.. and thats about it
I do feel like Ive lost a limb if i leave it at home or the battery dies though
Honestly, yes. I barely ever use my phone, it's mainly used as an alarm. If I wanna contact somebody I usually use Facebook on my laptop or I go to see them. My friends get annoyed with me sometimes because I barely ever have credit and sometimes they text but I can't reply, but I just feel like topping up your phone all the time is an easy to way lose lots and lots of money.

Yes, I could. Everything I did with my phone, I now do on my computer. I was constantly on the Internet with phone. I was paying $40 every other week because I would spend all my time on the Internet. I solved that by getting Internet on my computer.
My texting has gone down as well. I used to text everyone. Now, if I get a text on my phone, I use my E-mail account to text back.
I only use my phone for calling anymore, and that is only when I can afford the time for it. Anymore, if I need to talk to someone, I will go to their house, or wait until they come to mine to talk to me.

If you asked me this before I got the iPhone I'd emphatically say yes. Since I have the iPhone and all of my music is on there and I'm constantly going from place to place, I think not. I'm not happy about it but my phone is a big part of me but I have made an effort to disconnect from it quite more often than before. Listening to music is the real key because I always have a song on whether I'm working out or on the move. Texting/calls I go without any issue but it's the mp3 aspect of the iPhone that would do me in.

I could live without my phone. Like Xana, I only use it for the alarm. I use my iTouch more often, and I'll use it even more often once my partner hooks me up with his BT contract (OpenZone comes with his contract). So I'll be online where ever I am. So as long as ya'll got msn, facebook, twitter and skype, I have a new "phone" that I won't be able to live without. =P
I find talking on the phone a chore most of the time. I dislike people calling me - I feel put on the spot. Like, you may want to have a conversation, but I don't. Oh, and as for text messages? I had to go to bed early for the first time in a little while last night, and out of nowhere, a friend I've not spoken with in a while sends me a message at 3am. ><
I do feel safer with it... but I hate it most of the time.
Well, I have two phones. Ones a construction Nextel with the walkie talkies for work. I hate the damn thing, but they're really useful, especially if a job related issue comes up, where we may have to get on the phone with an engineer to find out if a contractor wants to do something and we don't know if it's acceptable.
My other phone is a droid razr maxx. It's a nifty little thing, but I could certainly go without it. I don't really call many people to begin with, but I'm more of a texter, or one of those "I'm picking you up, be outside in 2 mins" types of callers. As for the internet and all the apps on it, they're cool, and useful for figuring things out on the fly, but there hasn't been an instance yet, where I HAD to use my phone to solve a problem or get out of a jam
Every now and then I like to leave my phone at home and just not deal with people, or if I'm with some of my old friends, I'l just shut it off to give them and our conversation my full attention. It's really so freakin nice sometimes.

In a nutshell, I kind of hate modern technology and wish the internet and mobile phones didn't exist.
Mainly because society in general is crumbling to shit. People have lost the art of actually using their bodies to communicate to people (including myself at times) ... if someone hasnt got their head stuck in a phone, they're on a laptop ... and when I'm in a social gathering or having a conversation, nothing gets on my nerves more than when the person your'e with is texting. to me thats just super fu*king rude.
I rarely use my phone ... The odd phone call here and there and thats it
Is it any ruder than a person nodding their head and pretending to give a shit what you're talking about even though not one ounce of them cares what you're saying?
I think mobile phones and the internet have greatly improved society much more than they have been a detriment to our social lives.
It's machines man, they're replacing humans
My phone is always off or dead, and I rarely have it on so that someone will call me and force me to go to a party with them because I'm a little hermit. (I still love them, but they still force me)
I never use it for alarms anymore, since I usually have the sun breaking through my windows and irritating my eyes, plus the other two alarms that sit in the other rooms (they aren't mine), and boy, are they loud.
So yeah, I could do without my phone. :I
.....And I also stole that cupcake.
TFF Family~:
I could live longer without my phone than I could my game consols or laptop. Not that I'm online all the time (only three times a week to be honest since I don't have internet at home) but I'm a writer so I'm contastantly typing on my computer. And Final Fantasy THE best stress reliever in the world so I definantly couldn't live without my consols. But as for my phone, it doesn't have internet access, and no one calls or texts me so I could chuck it out the window without a panic attack.
Trust Me.
