What do I want for Christmas? A sub-compact. Really, now that Wisconsin has finally accepted the United States Constitution and allowed its citizens to carry concealed firearms for their own defense (because, let's face it, if somebody is going to break a law with a gun, they're not going to go through the trouble to make sure it's legal for them to carry a gun). I've been looking at Springfield XD Sub-Compacts, and I'd probably go with the .40S&W. I have a Springfield XD(M) in .40S&W, and it's great -- feels great, well-balanced, accurate. The only "problem" I have with the sub-compact is that it's got a somewhat wide grip -- while this feels better in the hand and can hold more rounds, it's also slightly more difficult and less comfortable to conceal. I've looked into similar sub-compacts, like the Glock 27, but while I like their mazine capacity, I still don't like the extra width. I just have to come up with a compromise between with and magazine capacity. There are narrower sub-compacts, but most of them are .380ACPs or 9mm Luger, and can only carry six or seven rounds. And if you get a slim, single-stacked .45ACP, six rounds in a mag is pretty good. So I'd still like to go with a double-stack, but nothing too wide.
Other than that ... hell, I dunno. Cash is always a good choice.
