I find myself being very careful on days like this, not believing anything, though last year was kind of funny. My ex, who I lived with at the time, was on the computer downstais, and told me that he was glad the weather was going to ruin the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, which took place in June that year, as he had read a report that it was going to snow on that day. Of course, I was on the ball and put him right. We later pulled a prank on his parents that he had won a substantial amount on a lottery scratchcard, which they fell for.
This year, I was going to convince my parents that I was pregnant (like one of my friends, who happens to be a lesbian, did last year with her mum) but I don't think my dad would find that very funny. When I was a kid, I told him there was a leak in the ceiling outside the bathroom where the water tank was, which he fell for. The only reason he did fall for it is because there really was a leak a few weeks prior, although I didn't realise that at the time.
Tradition dictates that April Fool's pranks must be played before mid-day, which is a bit of a bummer as I don't start work until 5 this afternoon. I was looking forward to fooling customers into thinking we don't serve breakfasts, under 18s, Big Macs etc., or telling drive-thru customers they have to order at a non-existant order point.
