My Reaction of People That Points The Obvious
This is my Daily Day in 2FortMy TFF Family:
When it comes to fantasy creatures, I like them both, but I think demons are more common and fun. If I had to choose my favorite when it comes to fantasy I vote Demons because you can have cool looking angelic demons
Sephiroth for example
I just feel like you can be more creative with them. Sometimes the coolest demons are the "good" looking ones:

I'm also going to go the more fantasy approach, because I really don't want to get/bring into the whole religious aspect that this topic can get into.
I think that I can go either way really, so I picked both. It depends on the stories that they're involved in and how they're presented (i.e. designed). I do go for more antagonists in fantasy stories, so whichever fits that criteria, I usually end up liking more.

From religious aspect I would go with angels, there's no reason for me to chose otherwise but since we're taking a fantasy approach than it really depends on the way they're presented so I voted for both.

A Sephiroth has more to do with God, oddly enough. I won't lie and say that I understand the Kabbalah, but as I understand it, a Sephiroth is an attribute of God through which he supposedly reveals himself to us. It's pretty deep stuff actually. Also, a Seraphim is at the top of the Angel hierarchy. I'm not sure why they named him as they did; perhaps because he was meant to be a representation of the god like ancients or perhaps they were just trying to be ironic. Who knows.
I like angels better, but not because they're good. I like them better because although demons are more often villains in all they appear in, angels make way cooler villains. I don't know if it's the symbolism of having something that's supposed to be pure represented as pure evil or if it's just because angels are generally depicted as being more human than demons and there's therefore more identification, but when angels are made villains, they kick the crap out of demons as far as coolness goes. Except in Constantine. That was just stupid.

Until now!
Both can be done well, but I ultimately went with angels. I can't help but think back to Ogre Battle.Devils were awesome, but I really preferred Seraphims. It's hard to say why, though. I think I mostly identify with good, and angels are usually good.
Then again, I think that a demon portrayed as good is pretty weird, but also just as awesome as an angel portrayed as a villain. Now that I think about it, it's probably something I identify with even more.
But I still go with angels, since demons are very rarely portrayed as good.
Also, I don't see how Sephiroth is in any way a demon.

How come there isn't a poll choice for Neither? Because, I don't like Angels and Demon shit. I will agree "demons" are cool and all but that shit has been used way to many time. They need to come up with new things.

Angels. I want huge feather wings and the dreams in which I have them are the coolest. Also, I like angel mythology (calm down, I'm not commenting on Christianity). Things like Seraphim, their position in heaven, etc. Demons can be cool and creatively done, but I'm stickin with huge feather wings.
Curious?
