As a group they are much worse than Orochimaru. MUCH worse. Jiraiya even makes a mention of this. In their own way, some of them are probably on par with Itachi. But even at this point in the manga there are still unrevealed members (or revealed members with unrevealed abilities). There's a long way to go.

Yeah the group Akatsuki is strong. There probably my favorite bad guys in the entire Naruto series so far.

Spoiler: Simply because one is "immortal" does not mean they cannot die, funnily enough. Remember Sasori? There is most likely a crack in Hidan's armor that hasn't been found yet. Not to mention that his abilities rely on him drawing blood from his opponent. Is it likely that he would be able to hit someone like Itachi or Orochimaru? I could see this happening with other, slower individuals, but not someone as speedy as Itachi or as monstrous as Orochimaru, even if he is weakened. Asuma is not on par with a member of Akatsuki despite having been one of the stronger jounin in the village. His true power lies in attack, but he was still having trouble against Kisame (who seems to be very powerful all around). The fact that he died is a surprise, but that's more due to Kishimoto's style of keeping characters alive even after they "die." As for the Hidan vs. Kakuzu thing...Have you seen the latest, latest chapters? I don't want to say anything until I know you've read them.

For any who watches the dubs >>; lol, did you see Naruto last night? I throught the episode was cool, but what really cut me off "alittle" was how Naruto was put to sleep so easly and Sakura knew what to do to avoid it lol. Found out why last night lol, Kaikashi is a slick one lol just teaching genjutsu to Sakura. Thing is in Season 1 I never really saw him teach Naruto that much, as much as he tought Sasuke and Sakura, maybe because he had techiques inside of him the whole time. But back on point, the show had some good plot twists to it like: ( For those who did'nt see it spoiler here it comes, to those who saw it you know how it was: I was lol when I saw Aroachemru in disguise next to the hocoag ( hard to pronouce) but what really surprized me was how he did'nt kill him, just toying with him lol. When kaikashi talked about a A rank mission for the next episode I was like finally lol. I know next weekends one is going to be good.

Spoiler: I'm not sure where you got that figure, but it certainly is not true. Naruto is a powerhouse (especially when possessed by Kyuubi), but Kakashi has his own specialties that puts him very high up there. The first few chapters after the time skip show this well enough. I won't say why since I am a stickler when it comes to spoilers (though I don't mind spoiling if you ask), but reading the manga should say it better than I can. As for Gaara: Yes, he is Kazekage, but he is by no means at Kage level. A few chapters after the time skip will prove this. Even when taking into account that Hokage and Sannin are above that of other Kage, he is most likely at the level of a higher Jounin (but not Itachi level). This is probably where Naruto stands as well, but that is very dependent on the Kyuubi chakra at this point. Certain events may change that in the future. Perhaps into the second arc of the second half of the series it becomes rather clear that Naruto is not the most powerful ninja. He has many flaws. Kyuubi does give him a lot of power, but it has many too many side effects that render it an unwise choice. Plus there's the whole thing about him using his own power, rather than relying on Kyuubi.

It's a great start to 2007, even Bleach has no more fillers!! Naruto's voice actor seems to be the same, but a bit deeper. Hmm, I had expected it to be much more deeper, he's already 15.

Spoiler: Haha, nah, it may be right. A lot of it is left up to opinion at this point. It's a natural thing in the whole "______ vs. ______" debate. He is most likely at around Jounin level, but he is still rather inexperienced. When the Kyuubi chakra kicks in he is much, much stronger, but it's at a price. So he may be able to achieve a level of raw power stronger than that of Kakashi, but Kakashi's own abilities and the drawbacks of using that much of the Kyuubi's chakra would make the outcome uncertain. But again, this will probably change later on. Naruto is the main character, after all. =P

Spoiler: The way I see it, the Third was above all of the Sannin in terms of skill at that particular time. The problem was that he had aged so far that he was unable to utilize that skill properly. His age had made him frail, and his chakra capacity was lower than what it had once been. Orochimaru even admitted to some extent that if the Third had been maybe 10 years younger he could have defeated him. So I think that both Jiraiya and Tsunade at their current maximum would fall just short of the Third in his prime. As for Naruto and the Kyuubi chakra...He will probably never have the ability to use it liberally. The red chakra is an extremely volatile double-edged sword. I won't say why unless you ask (or happen to already know), but in the second half it becomes very unwise for him to use that chakra. At the time of the exam I would guess that he is above the average Chuunin due to the Kyuubi chakra. The thing is that he has that explosive Summoning technique that could put him above those who don't have the raw power or technique to deal with it (or the speed/initiative to stop him from summoning). The case is sorta the same with Gaara. I could see him beating Chuunin at that time, but could not honestly see him going toe-to-toe with a Jounin. Gai, for instance, was easily able to deal with Gaara's sand. But the moment that he unlocked Shukaku the situation changed completely. However, Sasuke was originally able to stop Shukaku's summoning by taking the initiative and piercing Gaara's 'impenetrable defense.' Kakashi is not as strong as a Sannin though. He has many limitations due to his bloodline incompatibility with the Sharingan, and his overall chakra is probably only somewhat above average. He is a genius ninja though, and quite young. He could surpass a Sannin in time, but at this point he lacks the battle experience. He is still weaker than Itachi, who is also not Sannin level. Itachi himself stated that if he and Kisame fought Jiraiya (a Sannin) head on, the best case scenario would be them killing Jiraiya in the process of him killing them. More men would not change the outcome of this. So while Itachi outclasses most Jounin by far, he is not yet of Sannin level. The Sannin are not necessarily stronger than Hokage level though. The thing is that the Hokage level fluctuates. It is the term for the strongest ninja in Konoha, while Sannin refers to Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru specifically. The Third and Fourth were probably as strong as Sannin, and in the case of the 3rd had exceeded that of a Sannin thus far while in his prime. But basically, you could just say that, right now, Hokage level and Sannin level are the same thing, especially since the Fifth is one of the Sannin. And Akatsuki...It's sorta hard to say when we don't even know who the leader is. I would venture to say that most known members are about as strong as Itachi in their own way, if not slightly stronger (though not in the realm of a Sannin). I assume that Orochimaru is at a big disadvantage right now, effectively lowering his level. This is one reason why he is at a great disadvantage to Akatsuki. I won't explain the reason unless you want to know, though, even if it's rather simple. The other reason is Akatsuki's sheer numbers, but that would be less of a problem if Orochimaru was in his prime.

Spoiler: Kakashi did make that statement during the second half of the series. He also alluded to the possibility very early on, when Naruto and Sasuke were doing the tree-climbing training. However, chakra capacity does not necessarily equal overall power. I'm not sure what the reason was for placing the Kyuubi within Naruto. I doubt it's because someone knew that Naruto's chakra capacity was extremely large though. It most likely has to do with his connection to the Fourth, whether it be familial or something else. I believe that he could be a reincarnation of the Fourth, myself, but it's sorta useless to hypothesize. Kishimoto could take anything and make sense out of it. But again, I doubt it was Naruto's natural capacity that makes him a match for the Kyuubi. After being engulfed in the Kyuubi's chakra for a prolonged period of time, Naruto's body is a wreck. His natural capacity may help him survive, but it is mostly because the Kyuubi's chakra rapidly heals him afterwards. In the long-term, however, this is still very dangerous for Naruto. This is one reason why I said that the use of the Kyuubi chakra is unwise.

That's sometime in the filler arc... that'd probably be like season 7 or 8, out of the 9 total seasons for Naruto. You can get the movies at various Anime torrent sites, they won't be in English, but they do have English Subtitles.

I just watched Naruto Shippuuden this past weekend. not bad, though the beginning was kinda eh!? Since I wasn't expected that. And "Naruto" isn't over.. it's still called Naruto in the manga... right? I'm not sure my Naruto Manga isn't exactly up to date.. still on Chapter 281... >.<

I would say that it is kind of like Naruto Z as in a carry on from the first series in the future, plus it will probably last much longer than the first (not counting the fillers) but that is just a guess... I guess we'll have to wait and see how long it lasts.

Also I just saw the first episode of Shippuden and I agree that the beginning was kind of meh, but ok. I still have not seen all the fillers but as there is a wait between each episode I will probably catch up to them in between, also I am guessing the next episode will be more interesting than the first one(s).

Well I just finished wathing Episode 3 of Naruto Shippuuden. I really didn't notice the music change in the first two episodes, iono it sounded the same to me, but after watching the third, they clearly changed it up a bit, while it's still Naruto-ish, it's not the same songs just remixed differently lol.

The way things are going, it looks like they actually put some effort into drawing again, lol maybe the quality went down because everyone was working on this during that filler arc.. =P But like I was saying, the way things are going, it's going to get pretty good. Can't wait. xD

Ah yes, well no real concern but just figured it was kind of different. I read the latest manga and it looked quite interesting, the overrall quality dropped when the fillers started but it looks like they are getting back on track and it will interesting to watch, you can tell Naruto is more mature than before though he seems a bit too quiet I dunno.

Also I heard they are making a forth movie which takes place in the Hurricane Chronicles which should be interesting to watch, the only 1 I have seen so far is when they see that actor and go to the Snow Village or something, I'll have to look for the other 2 some time. Right now I am still watching the fillers out of boredom mostly.

I started watching Naruto in English but a lot of people who had watched it in japanese told me that its much better in japanese so what I did was that I watched the series up until episode 135 because it was all fillers from there forward and for Shippuden I just read the manga.

Also I like more the music from Shippuden than the original series, I fell its more epic and stands out more than the other ones. The sad song from the first series, I think its called "Sadness and Sorrow", its really good so i don't know how they are going to top that. And if you watched the HUGE spoiler for anime-only watchers that is the first 8 minutes before the intro on the first episode, well that song is also very good and a bit more "mature".

I can't say much but right now on the manga its getting very interesting, and you can really see the obious DBZ roots it has, because if you didn't know Kishimoto is a huge fan of DBZ.

Well i haven't watched Shippuden yet but I am thinking about looking for it on the internet. If they already have in on youtube though I'll probaly watch it there. However i haven't watched naruto in ages since i got bored after episode 135+ just likeFFsaiya-jin.

Spoiler: I just don't get the whole prison break idea and how it all fits in. Plus Fujin and Raijin (sp?), i can't quite enjoy it when them in. I personal think the prison thing is a stupid idea but i haven't watched further so i might be proved wrong.

As for english and japanese, i always got for the japanese versions of animes. Mainly because nothing is missed and also with naruto, the english is only upto about episode 50 so i could get further on the internet.
