    Re: Transformers 3

I'm looking foward to it. The trailer look awesome.

I was disappointed with the second one. The thing I'm glad they have done is gotten rid of Megan Fox. She may be easy on the eyes, but she one terrible actress, and really did a lot more bad than good for RotF. I'm hoping the third one will be much better than that.

But yeah, I'm looking foward to seeing it. Nothing can beat the original animated series though!

    Re: Transformers 3

I don't care much about Transformers anymore. I loved the first movie, but the pure shittiness of the second one has kind of made me lose my interest in ever seeing a new Transformers production again.

I heard the new one got good reviews, though. That's nice. Too bad Transformers 2 was so horrible, or I may have gone to see the third one.

I agree with you on so many levels about Megan Fox, i never really liked her. Actors/actresses who are only cast for their looks should stick to pornography.
Its a shame you feel that way Clint but i was never expecting box office gold from that movie either. I just wanted to see which of the transformers they would use which is the main reason im going to this one too. I wont deny it im a nerd

    Re: Transformers 3

I just got back from this. It was very pretty to look at, but very convoluted and hard to follow plot wise. At least in this one there wasn't as much racial stereotyping, however, so that's a plus.

My biggest beef with the movie is pretty much what everyone else's is that I've ever seen; there's too much emphasis on the human characters, and not enough emphasis on the transformers. They're like secondary characters in their own movie. Even so, they like introduce new autobots in like every movie, so the team is never the same. Not that they ever get much development anyway. But anyhow, every seen with Sam Witwicky trying to get a job, work at said job, and impress girlfriend, really detracted from the actual plot of the movie that anyone cared about. I would get into it every time I saw what the decepticons were doing, and then get right out of it again when Shia came back on screen.

There were a lot of things I didn't understand.
    SPOILER!!:
Where did those decepticons on the moon come from? How did the autobots get captured before the scene where they're going to be executed? How did the humans get out of the building that was leaning impossibly?
Most importantly though, why do humans seem to think they're on the same playing field as the transformers on any level? Why do we have two movies in a row were some stupid FBI person is trying to order the autobots around? Why even bother to try direct combat with a transformer when your ordinary weapons seem to generally have negligible effect on them? We've seen in past movies humans trying to fight transformers, and just getting their asses kicked. They're still trying at points in this movie, although at least they get smart about it and try sneak attacks and such.

I will admit there was some cool stuff: the transformers themselves. Shockwave was pretty bad ass, Laser Beak was pretty scary and bad ass, Sentinel Prime was epic with the voice of Leonard Nimoy, Megatron had a pretty bad ass look, and Optimus, of course, kicked ass (when we saw him.) There were some good actors in this: John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, Alan Tudyk, and of course John Turturro. They were all supposed to be comic relief in some way, shape or form, though the only one who really made me chuckle at all really was Tudyk. The girl was better than Megan Fox-she didn't seem like a bitch outright, although she was still kinda just there as the "requisite" love interest.

Overall, it was better than Revenge of the Fallen, but it might've been the installment that I enjoyed the least, simply because I've had enough of Bay's bs. If there's another one, I don't know if I'll go to it. Pretty much the only reason I went was because I heard it was getting positive reviews. Interesting. I think I might give it a 3 out of 5, although that might be stretching it. Anyhoo...

That's exactly what was wrong with the second one. Since this one focuses on the humans, much like the first one, that means that it's probably a good movie. I might want to go see it now.

    Re: Transformers 3

After watching the movie my friends were discussing the film and we came to a general consensus that movies 1 & 3 don't tie in all that well. Movie three really screws up the whole plot and brings up questions. We also noticed that there seemed to be some scenes missing, like what Tele mentioned, the autobots getting captured but also Optimus getting his trailer back. I would also like to know how all those navy seals & soldiers got into the city though I explain that off as the autobots distracting the decepticons.

I do agree that this film needed to focus less on the humans and more on the transformers. This, like the second film, feels more like Humans: Dark of the Moon (with transformers) than an actual transformers movie. I could see people getting confused as to which transformer is whom if they focused more on them because they may look "too similar". Of course having proper character development and actually focusing more on the transformers would help distinguish them for the audience.

    Re: Transformers 3

I watched it yesterday and the one thing that i noticed was that this film is a lot darker (excuse the pun) then the other two installments. At some points when the decepticons were sealing off the city it actually felt depressing to watch.
    Spoiler:
And that execution scene that killed off my favourite autobot was pretty up there too.

Other then that it an alright flick. Shockwave was my favourite decepticon, basicly because he's Shockwave, the most kick-ass robot of them all. Apparently Bay leaked false information about him (Shockwave that is) being the main antagonist insead of Sentinal prime and i have to say i was suitably dissapointed to find out that this was a lie.

One thing that i didnt like was how pretty much none of the new transfromers names are actually spoken during the course of the film which makes it hard to tell others what happened. "And then there was this pretty cool looking deception who looked kind of like a giant praying mantis who got 5 seconds off screen time" and thats all i can say about him, other then he was green.

    [spoilers]
Like every one else already said, it doesn't quite tie up with the other two. I was left unsatisfied with a lot of what happened, like, where's Star Scream? What will happen now that Megatron is death? What's the role of the autobots from this point on? They seem to have become military weapons with minds of their own as opposed to an alien race taking (permanent) residence in our world. What can they possibly do next that the biggest bad guy is gone?

I don't know, it was a good action flick at least. I wanted to see more of Shockwave, but oh well.

    Re: Transformers 3

I've watched the movie on Wednesday - mostly because there was nothing else to watch (and both friends I watched it with had already watched Hangover 2 -.- I'm never gonna see that movie... .,.). Really, was cinema always that bad?
Besides, it costs too much. But well, this thread's about the movie. XD"

First off: I've watched the first movie in 2007 or whenever it was - I watched it in the cinema as well. I've NEVER seen even the slightest trailer of the second movie. So I really don't know what it was about. But I heard it was the worst of all three. Oh well. ^^"

The first thing I wondered about was: Where did that girl from the first movie go? And why was she replaced by someone who just seemed to look good (well, her back did look good, but her LIPS... oh holy...!) and was nothing else in this movie? Really, she was just a side character whom they could shoot in "sexy" clothes.
I overheard two guys (!!!) talking to each other about her and they were like "why did they spend half a minute just to show her ass?". (I smiled. I was thinking the same. ^^")
And theeeeen, suddenly, at the very end, SHE was the one who tricked Megatron?! SERIOUSLY?!! She was a flat character to begin with, she didn't have a reason to exist (except the simple reason she's a woman - she just HAS TO be captured by the enemy!) - so why did she get such a huge role at the end?
Also, there were some characters (whose names I've forgotten, haha ^^") I really didn't know. But they probably already appeared in the second movie... or even the first. ^^"

What really annoyed me most about the movie was its length. When we decided to watch Transformers, I really wanted to ask if someone had a pillow for me, so that I could sleep during the movie. OVER TWO HOURS!!! Seriously! And many, many scenes were just BORING and should've been cut! But they really wanted to have a veeery long movie, I suppose. -_- Avatar's been long as well, and was even shittier than Transformers.

GENERAL SPOILER WARNING! Don't know what's a spoiler now. Everything, I suppose. ^^"
But it's not that I disliked the movie. I liked the idea of America flying to the moon just to explore a space shuttle of the Autobots. And how it all looked like the old recordings from that time. ^^
Also, the scenes in which Sam tried to find a job - that was sweet. It was just way too long. It didn't really have to do ANYTHING with the story, although I smirked when the hot-but-useless-lady brought Sam some RED candy though it was the yellow office (was it?).
Also, the fight of the Autobots and Decepticons was pretty good (though WAY TOO LONG!). I kinda liked the plot twists as well, though there should've at LEAST been a hint at all of that. Especially concerning the... Prime they've awakened (yes, I can't remember names that well ^^") - there was no sign that he was to betray Optimus.
And my boyfriend even figured out that this red Prime (^^""""") was stupid. He could've just taken the opportunity to lead the Autobots - and then destroy them from within. Yet, he declined becoming the leader again. That seemed to us that the ones who wrote the script just had the idea one scene before the betrayal. ^^"
Also, like Tele's already said, how did they get out of that building? And why didn't they bleed? Seriously, if I'd fall into a window and crash it... I'd probably have LOTS of cuts from all the glass. ôo"

Wow, that sounds as if I didn't enjoy the movie at all. But I liked it, acutally. Though it was so DAMN long, I didn't fall asleep and I didn't even get nervous from sitting around for so long. ^^"

    Okay, but.
Worst of the movie was the end.
    SPOILER!!:
It's not a problem that Megatron died, though I found him to be an interesting character with not enough screen time. But after defeating him and... the red Prime, the movie just got hilarious.
    YAY, we saved the world.
AND OF COUUURSE Sam and his hot-but-useless-lady kiss each other and hold each other and - heck - why didn't they marry?!?! Aw, seriously, I HATE how EVERY F-ING HOLLYWOOD MOVIE has to have a f-ing kissing scene! (And the people who walked out of the cinema behind me giggled when I told my two friends how I felt about this.)
And THE F***! What was that f-ing scene with the guy in the wheelchair and that creepy lady for??? Really, that wasn't necessary. Especially as they had NO PERSONALITY at all. BOTH of them!
ARGH how I HATE such endings!
I would've liked it better if the Decepticons had taken over the world. That would've really made me laugh. XD" If they take over the world and the Autobots are dead and now everything's destroyed. That would've been a pretty funny ending. XD But Hollywood has to have a good ending. People like to dream, and dreams always end good.

I'm gonna decide in a week if the movie was worth my money. I suppose it was. Just to see people falling around in a leaning building. That was worth it. /Sarcasm
(Nobody's gonna believe I liked the movie XD")

Oh, right. I totally forgot that.

I thought this would be the final movie of the series. A trilogy, you know? But the trend now seems to be to get as many movies out as possible to get as much money as they can. I felt this movie as lacking something in actual material, action aside, and when the fourth one comes out I hope they get a better story line.

    Re: Transformers 3

Okay, I watched it last night, and thought it was pretty good. A huge improvement on Revenge of the Fallen, but still not up to the standard it should really be. The actual action with the Autobots and Decepticons was killer, but I hated how it seemed everything was down the humans ONCE AGAIN. My biggest problem was with
    Spoiler:
the part where the team of humans were able to take down 5 or 6 Decepticons with Machine Guns. MACHINE GUNS?!

Also, my 3 favourite Transformers died in this film alone
    Spoiler:
    Starscream, Ironhide and Megatron.

Needless to say, I was gutted

    Re: Transformers 3

Honestly, i kinda lost appeal in the franchise after the second movie. The first movie was alright, the second movie was excellent in the visuals department but it just felt like it was all about explosions and the next fight scene as opposed to really getting down to an in-depth story.

I might rent this out on DVD when it comes out, but i'm not holding my hopes out on it.

    Re: Transformers 3

You simply can't expect deep storyline or superb acting from movies directed by Michael Bay, however you enjoy them for what they are, movies packed with intense action scenes and special effects, and in that regard Dark of the Moon did an exceptional job.

I have my complaints, they overdid humor part of it, compared to previous movies some part of the story didn't make any sense, though overall I enjoyed it, I had great time watching it with my brother, and that's really all that matters.
