My favorite actor is definitely Ryan Reynolds. He can successfully play both the comedy role, and the serious action, and kinda thriller role. He was fantastic in the Amityville Horror remake, and his comedy films are definitely funny.

My favorite actress is Kate Beckinsale. Number one is she is f*cking beautiful. She is also an excellent actress. She has played a number of roles successfully. In Click she was in a bit of a comic role, then the UnderWorld films she is a kick ass vampire excellent.

I'm going to interpret the question as asking for my three favorite actors and actresses.

Actors:

Vincent Price The man is a legend in horror movies forever. He has an instant foreboding that makes him the perfect man to put in the atmosphere of a horror. When you see him in the lens, he almost darkens the celluloid.

Jeremy Brett There never will be a man better suited to play Sherlock Holmes in the history of the character. The man brought an energy and outre genius to a character that was begining to turn stale.

Toshiro Mifune- The greatest Japanese actor who has played roles in the greatest Japanese movies. The combination of Kurosawa and Mifune captivated the world of film.

Actresses:

Sigourney Weaver Despite being hot as hell and taller than any other actress, she has a masculinity to her that gave rise to the premier female badass. Her eyebrows are almost vulcan and she lends an intensity to any role.

Jamie Lee Curtis It's hard for me to say why I like Jamie Lee Curtis so much. But for an inexplicable reason, seeing her name in the opening credits of a movie makes me smile.

Asia Argento The daughter of the famed auteur of horror. She knows four different languages and is a bit of an introvert, but in all this time her skills as an actor show her in a thousand different lights.

Leslie Nielson passed away? My older bro was a big fan, and I enjoyed many of the works I've seen from him as well. He will definitely be missed.

As for the topic at hand...

Actor: Tom Hanks - I like the sort of character that he often plays, and he also seems to put in 110% to everything I've seen him in. I hear he's a pretty cool guy irl too.

Actress: I like Nicole Kidman a lot. She's a beautiful and talented woman. She just has a screen presence about her that is kind of..regal...I guess?

Damn, that's really hard to choose. but after thinking about it for a bit...

Johnny Depp: The man can take any role and make it oscar worthy, practially. Great at the very least. Captain Jack Sparrow? Rauol Duke? He plays such interesting and diverse characters. Also, watching his interviews, he seems incredibly awkward and nervous. Which makes him all the more likable to me.

Sigourney Weaver: She just has an air about her that is to be respected. She plays the tough as nails Ripley in the Alien movies, the love interest in Ghostbusters, and a female con artist in some other movie that I don't remember the name of. And 61 years old, and she's still rather attractive.

Some Runners Up:
-Robert DeNiro, for his unpredictable and intimidating presence. He's the best actor in crime dramas, in my opinion, and a very close second (maybe a tie) for my favorite actor.
-Viggo Mortensen: Always plays a very compelling character. I'd root for him even if he was the most evil character ever in a movie.
-Al Pacino: Second to Robert DeNiro for crime dramas, only because he doesn't have that unpredictableness.
-Alan Rickman: Excellent and ioften a hilarious bad guy.
-Bill Murray: Transcends comedy and drama. May well be my third favorite actor behind Depp and DeNiro.

Actresses:
-Jennifer Garner: Very attractive, seems genuinely nice, plays great action roles.
-Nicole Kidman: Probably the most attractive actress that I could think of. Also has been great in really dramatic rolls. Almost put her as my favorite, but changed my mind.
-Cate Blanchett: From the benevolent Galadriel to the villainess in the newest Indiana Jones movie. She is a very talented and diverse actress. The only reason I can't put her as my favorite is that I can't think of other rolls she's had.

Watch The Prophecy. He's in it. He plays Lucifer. He's not in it for long though. You can just watch this Youtube clip if you want. The part of your post that I bolded, underlined, and italicized made me think of that movie. Speaking of which, Christopher Walken is in that movie too. I like him a lot. I want to add him in as a favorite actor. He's just so damn delightful in everything I've seen him in, and he's a good dancer too.

Huh. Well, like I just said to you seconds ago on messenger, it's hard to root against Aragorn, even when he is the Devil. He is such a compelling actor. But... he's the Devil. He is the ultimate enemy. Can't root for him. Anyhoo...

Favourite actors.....

Gary Oldman: He is a pretty diverse actor and is compelling in most movies he is in. Tends to take more eccentric roles but stands out all the more for it.
Ed Norton: Just one of the best actors working in Hollywood. Doesnt hurt that he is in films like American History X and Fight Club. As above, he is compelling to watch.
Takeshi Kitano: Equally as good a director as actor. Has a tremendous screen presence as well as the trademark tic.
But my favourite actor is probably Kang Ho Song. It helps that most movies he has been in are the best of Korean cinema over the past ten years. And to call the last ten years Korean Cinemas golden era would be an understatement. Tremendous presence and is just as capable of playing the fool, as in "The Good, The Bad and The Weird", as well as playing more serious characters as in "Memories of Murder".

Favourite actresses....
Summer Glau: Yes, I am a Firefly fanboy. Enough said.
Favourite though is Anna Tsuchiya. I saw this film "Kamikaze girls" and just fell in love with her. Seen a few more of her films and she is more than a competent thespian. Has a really distinctive voice and presence.

He is the man. I have never seen a bad film with Norton in it. American History X is in my top 5 favorite films of all time. Brilliant movie with a brilliant cast.

My favorite actor is Dolph Lundgren, who has been overlooked as a great actor due to his muscular physique and spiky blond hair, but he is an overall top-notch actor. I especially liked his role as half man-half hound Dr. Dolf Lundgren in Crime Stinks: The Smell of Penetration. The twist in that movie; full penetration.

My favorite actress is Katherine Hepburn, mostly because she's dead, and therefore can't be in any movies anymore. I absolutely hate it when women are in movies. They slow down the story with all their hormonal complaints and menstrual cycles. A movie is supposed to have a lot of Dick Power, and women tend to just tamper with that. The only reason a woman should ever be placed in a movie is to get naked, which is why porn is so manly.

Shane West:Is an American actor, musician and songwriter. West has played Landon Carter with Mandy Moore in A Walk to Remember, and Dr. Ray Barnett in ER. He's currently starring as Michael in The CW's action drama Nikita.
Jared Padalecki:Is an American actor who plays a role in CW television series Supernatural ( i really love these series). He has also played a role in friday the 13th n house of wax
Jensen Ackles:is an american actor who plays a role in supernatural as dean winchester n also played a role in Days of our Lives, which earned him several Daytime Emmy Award nominations, as well as Alec/X5-494 in Dark Angel and Jason Teague in Smallville.
Actresses
Sandra Bullock: An oustanding american actress who can play any kind of role like serious,funny.extremely intelligent etc. She played a role in All about Steve,The blind side, the proposal etc
Emma Watson: is an English actress and model who rose to prominence playing Hermione Granger, one of three starring roles in the Harry Potter film series. Watson was cast as Hermione at the age of nine, having previously acted only in school plays.

I would have to say my Favourite actor is Robin Williams, he is by far the most enjoyable to watch and even his voiced characters are fun, also I grew up with him watching Mork and Mindy, the death of Robin will be the death of improv comedy.

I also like Anthony Hopkins just because I love to see him in his well presented articulate roles. Silence of the Lambs oh yeah.

Fav actress would have to be any babe that is hot.

I can't narrow it down just to one, there are so many great actors to chose from, Morgan Freeman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Tom Hardy, Johnny Depp, Denzel Washington, Sir Ben Kingsley...

It's bit easier regarding the better half, Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster, and Scarlett Johansson are pretty much the ones I prefer.

Gary Oldman - The greatest actor/villain ever.

I don't watch a lot of movies. And what little TV I watch is done on the Internet now. So my favorites are a little dated, but still good choices.

My favorite (voice) actress is Tara Strong. From Reenee (spellcheck) in Sailor Moon, to Timmy Turner in The Fairly Oddparents, to Rikku in Final Fantasy X/X-2; she really knows how to portray a character's emotions.

My favorite actor is a three-way tie between Patrick Warburton (Family Guy, Rules of Engagement, etc.), David Spade (Rules of Engagement, SNL, Sparx in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning), and James Arnold Taylor (Final Fantasy X, Johnny Test, etc.). I could see these three making both a hilarious and serious show at the same time.

All three of those actors have a certain quality to them that just sets them a part from all the rest. All three of them have also successfully acted in very serious films as well as hilarious ones = awesome.

Top three actresses:

- Julia Roberts
- Betty White
- Helena Bonham Carter

These three women also have a unique quality to them that make them phenomenal to watch. Julia Roberts has played many different roles, though most are pretty similar in which you grow to love her as the protagonist. There has also been at least one where I've hated her guts as one of the antagonists. Betty White is simply a classic, I'll most likely cry when she dies even at almost ninety she's funny as hell. Helena Bonham Carter is just ****ing awesome, no ifs, ands, or buts about that. She's the best female villain you could ask for, but she's also succeeded in playing a lead supporting lady as well; I luff her.
