    Battle: Los Angeles

Terrible, terrible movie. A invading extra terrestrial force is outwitted, outplayed and outgunned by a bunch of marines? Pretty sure any alien species capable of getting to earth to colonize it could somehow administer a super toxic compound, spread it amongst our population and fly on down to a planet devoid of any human life if they truly wanted. This is one of those movies that requires the audience to be dumb to enjoy.

Oh, and get this. They came for our water! Apparently hydrogen isn't common enough in the universe to get it elsewhere lolwait. I really don't get how movies like this get so much funding, that the public is REALLY that dumb to fall into an obvious marine recruitment ploy.

I'm desperately waiting for Morgan Freeman to stay true to his word and move forward with Rendezvous with Rama. Now THAT will be a unique alien movie!

Yea it was a very hero-soldier centric movie. Overall wrapped up too fast and too neatly by the tough American super soldiers and their heroic super acts to save the world. Very propaganda inspired without hitting on any real issues (unless Iraqi's are aliens I havn't been told of.)

I went with several of my friends and we all agreed it was not a very good movie. Some of them expected more of an Independance day-like movie (dunno why) where it was more civilian/government perspective but were really disappointed when it was a soldier hero movie.

When Michelle Rodriguez was introduced as the character she ALWAYS plays that's when the generic-ness of the movie got too much for me and I started clocking out on trying to care for any character. It was dumb how fast and how many times the soldiers turned their opinion on the Old guy. Jeez people die in war, some people survive others don't, get over it babies you would think he literally held his soldiers still while deliberately calling the enemy soldiers to kill them with his last platoon. Maybe its just more propaganda that American soldiers ONLY EVER die if someone forces them to die purposely.

The alien plot is also very weak. These aliens have such superior firepower but they keep super-command centers on ground level where the inferior humans can simply blow it up? Stupid solution for a stupid movie. Also they find a weak point on their chest so all of a sudden they can kill them easier? Jeez you would think that would be the second place they shot once the head was ineffective.... The water theory I can let go because if synthesizing water was easy we would of done it already in mass quantities.

Overall very disappointing movie indeed. Luckily I didn't go in with the highest expectations, I only went because I hadn't seen a movie in theaters in awhile with friends and I didn't want to destroy their misconceptions and not end up going at all.

I saw the movie when it got released n I didn't really like it coz i hated the concept of a group of american soldiers protect the whole world from huge aliens which are invading the world.

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.

Perhaps they required the water be of an isotope exclusive to rare planets like our Earth? The one thing of the film that was truly stupid without any excuse was when the general (or whoever the hell he was) ordered the main cast of marines to go out on that extraction mission to be picked up via chopper stating that, "the enemy has no air support."

The enemy... has no air support? Did they travel all the way to Earth on a ****ing Greyhound? I almost walked out of the theater at that point.

I didn't think that it was as bad as that. While it wasn't the greatest movie I've ever seen, it wasn't the worst. Maybe it's because I'm biased for any movie that stuff blows up in.

I tried to watch it but the acting was so bad it was laughable. It's probably going to be one of those movies later in the years people rent just to get a laugh.
