    Hello all,

So far i've made it to girvegan/ the Fire Gate and there's a stuiped door that wont open for me i've been over the entire area for the past two hours and done a few side quest while trying to figure out how to get through..

by the way Andromenda, using gambits for self:MP< 30% and charge i've managed to wiped some of the elite mobs before lvl 45 but, the only set back to this is that if one of your charaters get's too low and u can't cast Curaja ( which I also made into a gabit above the charge gambit.) On the same note i managed to chain a max of 16 quickenings that was an unearthly amout of damage.

SOooo dose any one know how to open that door in Girvegan??

The Gate of Fire you don't need to get through the gate. You actually have to walk on that green platform that appears. Since you made it that far you should know what I am talking about. When you reach a certain spot, the green circle platforms are triggers creating a path. It is in the middle area that leads towards the middle at the crystal. The simpliest method is to just run along all of the edges.

Right now I'm stuck facing the Gil Snapper. I know that he's in the Giza Plains and after cutting all those logs in the area, you have access to the area he's in. Well, I did and as I battled him, he has a shitload of HP. I used all my quickenins and even summoned Belias and have the available strongest weapons and armor at this point in the game and I still can't beat him. Overall my party levels are around 24 or 25. Do I need to level up more? Or do I keep on trying till I get lucky?

Well, the Gil Snapper is actually an elite mark, I had a lot of trouble with it too, namely at the end when it starts spamming Blizzaga. -_- I defeated it at level 40 lol. I'm sure it's possible and likely to kill earlier, but I just couldn't get that last 5% of its HP down until then. If you have Ice Shields for your close range melee that helps a lot. Other than that, you can try sticking Silence or Immobilize on it when it gets to that point, it never worked for me but I've never been much of a magic user beyond cures so I only tried once or twice.

Okay, I'm having an issue and it's driving me crazy.

Anyone done the Great Cockatrice Escape side-quest yet? I have the first one done, now I'm trying to talk to the Cockatrice in North Rabanastre but it keeps running away. I keep trying to hide behind the pilliars and whatnot and it still runs away when I try to slowly walk out.

    AAAAAAARGH!!!!

Anyone know how to talk to this freakin' thing???

He never does have a HP bar, you just keep going on him until he is finished. I think he has like 250,000HP, but you really do not that you won until you won. I know for me, he does Physical Immune and Magickal Immune, then he will do a complete Immune at once, when he does that you know it is almost over.

From what i remember i was on Lv. 20 after getting the first esper.

And measures? Haha they are certainly uh..strange weapons. I'm not sure how they would be described other than measures, kinda just look at their shape. Their main use is for status effects i believe..most of them have very strange status effects that they can inflict on either an enemy or a teammate. They are also armor piercing..like a gun. Which means good against armored enemies, useless against jellies, ghosts, etc.

I was around level 14 when I beated Judge Ghis and his lil minions. He should be a pretty easy battle if you have your quickenings. Other than that, if you don't then just cast some magic spells, attack, and heal.

I was somewhere between 25 and 30 when I killed it. I forgot what I did exactly. But I just BARELY beat it. I was at the last little sliver of HP, practically my whole party was dead, and I think just before he knocked out my last two characters, I finally knocked him out. I think I snuck a Quickening in there at the end and that was how.

EDIT: Oh and thanks Andro, I was going to post abput that Giruvigan area. Couldn't find the path for the life of me, I was sure it was there (I think I expected it to be straight down the middle when it probably isn't; the other paths weren't I just noticed as I made may way back to the beginning to sell my 200,000 Gil worth of loot )

Does anybody know how to make the Lvl. 99 Red Chocobo appear in the Ozmone Plains? It has one of the four Ribbons in the game.

Take the elevator in the Pharos of Ridorana Lv 1. It will only give you one option to go to, down. And it will take you down there, though be ready for an assault and ambush. You will not get one the first time, but if you return to the surface and then go down again. The circle area you will be ambushed. Oh and the area is in pitch dark almost, have fun. ^^

The lv 99 Chocobo, I don't know, my guess would be killing a lot of Chocobos possibly. There could be specific weather conditions or a quest required before hand to set it up. A lot of the special things require conditions.

It appears in the Garden of Life's Circle (southern-most area in Tchita). About the cloudy part, just keep re-entering the area. He doesn't seem to be picky, either, as the first time it was cloudy he appeared for me.

As none of the walkthroughs I've viewed seem to get this right, which sigil do I take at the 84th floor (3rd ascent)? It's the one with the two aeronites flying around the treasure-chest (containing a circlet). Some say it's the purple one, some say it's the yellow. Both have led me into the room with hordes of zombies and ghosts, and I'm kinda tired of having to keep resetting (not worth fighting them all-quicker to return to title screen and reload). Any thoughts?

Edit: Nevermind. Got the blue-green one in the SW corner. Also, according to what I've recently discovered, it seems to correspond to which ability to sacrificed in the Second Ascent. I sacrificed weapons (as most seemed to have sacrificed items or the minimap), so that may explain it.

    Espers

Ok this is just a question to ask about the locations of the side espers. So far I have 6 espers (the 5 you obtain through the main story, and I got one from Zertinan Caverns /Adrammelech.

I'd like to know of the other ones, locations/any important information I should know before I fight it/ and lastly but most important do I need to train up my team at all? (currently my team ranges in levels, 66,65,48,45,45,42)

Yeah, if you silence he will not use fire attacks I think and can`t remember but I think that you stop him from summoning other bombs.

    Try it out. Helped me.

    My advice on King Bomb...

Just attack him until his health is at about 52%, then chain a quickening on his ass. He will be dead in no time.

The Espers question, well I do not know their names all too well, but I'll try my best. First off most of the last Espers you need to get require some quest or process to reach, you can't simply walk up to them to the area to fight them.

The Barheim Passage holds Zalera, because it is in the passage this requires you to have the Barheim Key, which is a tedious quest. Otherwise it is pretty easy to get to once you have that. He is way in the back of the passage and has a 5 minute timer. I was lv 70ish when I fought him and I killed him in 2:30.

There is a place the Highroad or something like that, in between Nabudus and Arcades where there were fountains. I'm sorry for being vague, but I don't have the game on hand. There is a Esper at the top, Zeromus I think. You have to active the South, Northwest and West fountains I believe, but you can only get two of them because one is behind a boulder. Which requires you to go out and ride the wild chocobo around to get to the last one. Which will create a path to the top, you will have already been in the area to reach the fountain so you it should not be hard to find. I also fought this one around 70ish, probably less, but I was already up there, not too hard.

Necrohol of Nabudis holds Chaos which requires a few things to do. One you have have the two medallions which is another long series of quests to obtain. After than you have to fight two option bosses to create a third medallion that allows you to fight Chaos. And Attack is disabled, so you probably will use Magic or something else to kill him. He is very annoying, but I killed him around 65s probably.

There is one in the Waterway of Rabanastre. You have to turn on the right two switches and then go in the back to switch on a No. 1 switch and then turn on the left two switches and go back for another No. 1 switch. After that you have to do the middle two switches that give you access to the battlefield where the Esper is in the back. You have poison or sap consistantly on you, so beware of that.

The other is in the Stillshrine of Miriam, but you have to speak to a priest on Mt. Bur-Ominace to get an item. Then you go to the shrine with the stone and place it in the teleporter, it'll be an option you don't have to equip it. That will teleport you to a different area and you will fight another Esper. That one was pretty rough, but you just need the right accessories to be immune. Its hazing, so I can't remember the specifics, but having the immunity for silence and sleep I think are the important ones along with Slow and Stop.

The last two, Ultima is in the Great Crystal, where I don't exactly because I haven't fought her yet. But various commands will get disabled through the fight as I understand it and having absorb holy is useful as well.

The other is Zodiac in the Henne Mines, which requires you to have 10 Espers and speak to the Geomancer Gahid in the Jarara village. He will have the door in Henne Mines opened for you and you will have access the whole mines. The monsters inside range around the 70s, so it could be rough. I'm 87 so I do not really notice a heavy challenge, but it is still a good work out and there is only one crystal in the center of the mines. There is no save crystal before Zodiac, so it's a long run back to him. Zodiac is a advised to be lv 70 plus as I hear, but also I have not fought him yet.

Speaking of sidequests and such, my party is at the point to hoarde the Bahamut, I don't want to know the details, just a simple yes or no, is this the "final dungeon" or are there still parts of the story afterward. I'm curious to know whether i should just start leveling up and doing the sidequests or go through Bahamut and do whatever, then be at a level to do more sidequests/hunts.

It is the final dungeon, and there is no save points or exits, it is the end of the game. So if you want to be prepared now would be the chance to do it. I don't know what level you are, but more than likely you have enough to get through it without troubles.

Interesting..this kinda goes with Cain's question. I THOUGHT i was at the end of the game though i'm at the Pharos. My question is after the second ascent, i didnt know what was going on so i chose the "no magic" door thinking you'd have to complete all of them. Well that certainly was a bad choice..i'm at the main guy after right before the third ascent though i have no healing items left or i can't use magic so basically i'm trying to face this guy with no way to heal. Not too hard i can get his HP pretty low, but i wonder is there any way to exit the Pharos at this time because last time i checked the door wouldn't open and will i have to deal with this no magic thing much longer after the boss?

I was lucky to have it easy with just a "No Items" lock. Don't worry though, RIGHT after that second boss you have the opprotunity to "turn off" the lock and proceed to the third ascent, which involves touching the right color waystones which I might as well give out here:

Black, Green (standsalone in hidden room), Red/Orange, *NOTE whatever "color" the seal you picked on the second ascent (in your case magic) is the right color here* (in my case it was yellow) then the colorless stone in a room by itself, beat the Tower enemy and head into the door.

Note there's NO save point in the third ascent, if you spent a good couple of hours obtaining loot and experience I'd use the available way stone to go back to the first floor. You have to climb back up, but it's easy with the elevators and then you don't lose all that progress.

Note: Thanks Andro. my party's all on Lv 50, I just want to do all the extra stuff. I noticed the Deadlands weren't even explored yet (as well as several other areas) and I just wasn't sure if this was "sidequest territory" or if I was going to go through here for matters of story later anyway (those damn Deadbones/Crusaders seem just a bit on the strong side)
