I wasn't double-posting, I thought. The first post was concerning Fafnir (how to get it to appear), and the second concerning Behemoth King (why the hunt hasn't appeared in either the Notice Boards or Montblanc's Elite Hunt list). I know I repeated some of the same things in both (concerning where I am currently in the hunts), so maybe that's why you saw them as double-posts.

Anyway for Fafnir, you need to be heavy snow throughtout, which I imagine you got. The easiest way and possibly the way you need to do it for the hunt is talk to the Viera that is part of the hunt. Talk to her, it will make it heavy snow outside and just follow the normal path you did last time to fight Fafnir.
I found out that you have to take a specific route to get there. I was taking the shortest route. The route I'm supposed to take is as follows:

    1. Leave Mt. Bur-Omisace.
    2. Go right in Freezing Gorge (back towards Golmore Jungle).
    3. Continue into the Head of the Silverflow area, then turn south (before you get to Golmore Jungle).
    4. Continue south into Icebound Flow, and leave there via the second exit (southmost) to the left (leads to Karydine Glacier).
    5. Enter Silverflows End and find Fafnir there.

    I found this info at FF12Maps.com (http://www.m4lu.de/ff12maps/).

As for Behemoth King, I'm not sure. I beat him, so I know it appears. All I can think of is that you need to get Fafnir killed. But I am pretty sure I had Behemoth King before that. You are finished with all of the storyline right? Because some of the things in the game are based on that. You just have to fight the final boss right?
I'm still checking on this one. I'll post here if I find the answer.

Yeah, it is a specific route, since you had found him, I thought you knew that part. You have to take the long way around. And double posting is not repeating the same post, double posting is simply posting twice in a row regardless of content. Especially when there is only 8 minutes between the two posts. It covers all forms of posting twice.

But I would imagine that if you do not have Behemoth King available then it is because you do not have a requiste, whatever that might be. You may need a higher ranking. If you passed the Lighthouse then you should be fine on story, since he is in the area before Giruvegan.

You also have to fight the 5 Mandragran Brothers a second time before facing Behemoth King. They are a pain in the neck and you will die a lot of times. I was switching in other people a lot just to revive one person. You'll also want to have someone that has more than 9999 HP, or otherwise they will one shot you with their attacks. It buys you the time heal. They are cowards, but vicious ones at that. It is like a 30 minute process to kill them.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

I know how to get the key and already have it. I just need to know how to get to the secret area. (I'm a little annoyed because I had to ask this question 3 times before someone actually responded)

Oh. I wasn't aware that the definition of double-posting had changed. It's been awhile, but double-posting used to be repeating a post more than once. I was merely trying to separate topics. In the future I will consolidate my postings.

I've looked through the guide multiple times and have yet to find anything I don't have. My characters are all level 80 (except Vaan, lvl 81), I have defeated the final boss (but the game doesn't save or do anything that would suffice as a "game cleared" flag after you go to Bahamut). I have completed all side-quests (that I know of) except the fishing one. I managed to get the second area opened up, but the second area is difficult. I'm not quite fast enough to press the button combinations soon enough to get a catch. Don't know how long it will take me to complete that. I have all but 10 of the Hunt Club hunts completed. I have one part of the Great Crystal in Giruvegan that I can't recall if I completed or not. I think I didn't. Could that be the requisite?

I fought the 5 Mandragran Brothers a second time. It was difficult, and took time. I died many times, but I finally got them. What's funny there is the beastiary shows that I need to defeat each of them 14 more times, but I haven't been able to get them to reappear anywhere in Ivalice.

I really need to make a list of the things I haven't completed. I am using the internet access at work to come online, and it's difficult for me to remember everything I haven't done without having the game right in front of me.

The double posting rule has not changed since I came to the forum, it has always been the same, no posting twice in a row regardless. We do make a few exceptions, but in general no posting twice.

Anyway, if I had a map of Lhusu Mines I could probably tell you where to go. But if I remember it is the further area back that you can reach. The will be some door or gate that is blocking your path that the key is used on. I know the mines can be very windy, but the easiest method is just to wander around thoroughly searching the areas.

For Behemoth King, I checked a guide and it says you must kill Fafnir first. So kill him and see what happens. You should hopefully get him after that.

I have a quick question about the Zodiac Spear, Right now I am looking at the 15 Chests in Phon Coast, though I am sure there is meant to be 16, does that mean I have missed out on it? Also I went to Dalan's house and the Chest wasn't there either. I know it is still possible to get it another way or have I missed out on it? Also if I have still got a chance to get it how exactly do you get it?

The chest that the Zodiac Spear spawns in is not in Phon Coast, but in Necrohol of Nabidus. And if you messed it up there, it still spawns in the Henne Mines, but at a much lower chance. Though it does always have a chance to spawn there for the how many times you get the weapon, I would imagine. So you can get 6 of them if you want, I think. But it is 10% chance of the chest spawning and then a 10% chance that the spear is in the chest. Not great odds, but better than zero.

Does anyone know how to get to the hidden area in the Lhusu Mines with the brave suit in it (I already have the site 11 key).

What part are you talking about specifically? Just saying "hidden" doesn't necessarily clear things up for people to answer. Why do you need to go in there? That could also help us out as to how answer your question.

I need to go there because there is a 25% treasure chest spawn with the brave suit in it. The reason why I said "hidden" was because I didn't know the name of the map and I thought saying that the brave suit was in the chest would give it away because it was a relitively sought after piece of armor.

I didn't mean in this forum. Sorry for not being more clear. I have been on the internet since it was unknown to the masses (1988). I was using newsgroups for discussion before the www had either message boards or chat pages. In the early days (and up until 2001, when I stopped coming online for a couple of years), double-posting was posting the same message twice, either in the same forum (most common) or in more than one forum. The latter was relaxed somewhat when the mods realized that sometimes people didn't know exactly where to post and chose more than one forum to post in. For the most part it was frowned upon because of no-spamming rules. Posting 2 messages in a row was common because everyone (back then) wanted differing questions/topics to be put in different messages instead of confusing people by trying to deal with more than one thing in the same post. (I used to moderate in differing forums, mostly related to computer programming. I also moderated in IRC chat rooms, again mostly related to programming, but also in other less technical forums. I was not aware that the rules had since been modified that much.)

I'll stop discussing this now, since it really belongs in a different forum.

I defeated Fafnir yesterday and the hunt for Behemoth King showed up in Montblanc's Clan Hunt list. I defeated him as well, and Yiazmat showed up in the Clan Hunt list. I see now that all Notice Board hunts must be comnpleted before Behemoth King will appear, and all hunts must be completed before Yiazmat will appear.

    Thanks for the help.

Oh... well i didn't know wtf you were talking about.. until now lol. You can't find it because you're in the wrong mines. It's in the Henne Mines, not Lhusu minds. The chest that spawns the Brave suit has a 25% chance of actually being in there, so you're gonna have to zone out and back in to get the chest to keep spawning. The following is a map I found to help you with your searching.

It's a pain in the butt, but I think you just have to keep running in and out of the area.

Edited to add that I found it sometimes helps if you go do something else for a bit then return. Ditto the Giza Plains if you are wanting to have it raining or not.

Like U2Girl mentioned. You have to wait for a while, maybe about a few minutes or so before the storms occur. Also, it depends on how far you are in the game too. The storms don't occur till you're on your way to The Tomb of Raithwall. Other then that you basically just have to have a little patience.

I have found that there ARE patterns, you just have to figure them out.

For the life of me I can't specifically remember, but if I zoned through the Westersand, then through Ozmone Plains, when I'd get to Giza Plains it'd be the Rainy Season. Which was awesome, because there's alot of stuff you need to do while it's The Rains in there.

Try zoning through 2 different areas, then go back and see if that helps.

  20. #290
Well, the wet and dry seasons of the palins are somewhat regimented and you can ask a Seeq named "Weathereye" in Rabanastre when the next rainy or dry season will occur. That Seeq is always right on the money

I mean I hate to say it and all... but he doesn't have much choice of being "wrong" considering it's either The Dry or The Rains. If the background is The Dry, then you know (obviously) that the next season is going to be The Rains, and visa versa.

That was my main frustration with it. During my first playthrough I was given the same advice to check with the Weather-Eye Seeq... and all he'd say is "Looks like it's going to be Dry for awhile" or "Not too long now until the Rains".

Gee.... you don't say! Really? The Rains? After The Dry? How novel!

LOL. Anyways, it is true, you can consult it... but I personally don't have much stock in it. Buuuuuuut as always, that's just my opinion

  22. #292
Well I just have to questions for you people to answer. The first is about the necrohol of nabudis. There are three doors in it each with a different name. I know behide one of them is the esper chaos. So anyway, the question is (if you haven't already guessed it) how do you open these doors?

The second question is probaly easier to answer but its something I'm getting annoyed about. Rare items to make bazar goods. Is there any easier way to get them? I'm talking of such loot as: moon rings, gemsteel and soul of thamas (sp?).

    The Four Fragments

NOTE: To get Ro'kenmou/Ro'kenmu to appear, you must first talk to
Ma'kleou in Nabreus Deadlands (second area from Salikawood).

Talk to Roh'kenmou in Old Dalan's house (Lowtown, South Sprawl) and
he will tell you of a medallion that was split into four pieces for
safe keeping. The first one he clues you into finding is that which
was in a man's possession before he died...

Each time you find a fragment, you can go back and give it to the
    Nu'mou or wait off -- doesn't matter.

NOTE: Must have completed White Mousse hunt and have the Sluice
Gate Key in your possession to continue!

After completing the Wraith mark hunt, if you go into the residence
in Lowtown you can find the key item [DUSTY LETTER] on the table
near the Seeq. Reading it, you can find the clue:

    East -> Southeast -> East -> Southwest -> Southeast

Now, this may seem like directions for navigating the Garamsythe
waterway (as the letter talks about in detail, but not in the key
item description), but in reality, it's the method for operating
the switches in the "Central Waterway Control" area. Go down there
and face south, so the switches look like (from north facing):

So, with all the switches starting in the "off" position (not lit
up), flip the switches. If you don't like directions, do it by the
    name of the switch:

    1) Close No. 11 Control / Once this simple task is completed,
    2) Close No. 04 Control / you should hear a "tinkle" noise, but
    3) Close No. 04 Control / will receive NO notification that
    4) Close No. 03 Control / anything has happened. Head to the
    5) Open No. 04 Control / south of the area near the entrance
to the No. 1 Cloaca and you will find
a "Shiny Object" on the ground. Claim it for your own to see it is
    a [DULL FRAGMENT] key item.

Complete the Orthros bounty and you will receive this key item

There's a certain sequence of events you have to follow again.

    1) Talk to Filo in Lowtown's South Sprawl (in eastern part) to learn they've
searched everywhere for the medallion except the city streets.
    2) In Rabanastre's "Southern Plaza" area talk to the "Curious Woman" by the
fountain. Listen to her story to learn she's an amnesiac with only a
    necklace as a memento.
    3) Go to the Muthru Bazaar (Rabanastre) and find the orange bangaa merchant.
Talk to him about the necklace to learn he sold it to an Imperial a short
while back. He used to be at the Sandsea, but has left for somewhere else
    it seems...
    4) Enter Yugri's Magicks (Rabanastre) and talk to the Sotted Imperial NPC
about the necklace and woman near the fountain. He'll want you to fetch
her to him, in order to corroborate your story.
    5) The Curious Woman isn't at the plaza any longer, so return to Filo in
Lowtown; she'll have located her. Agree to accompany Filo to the magicks
shop, and you'll automatically arrive there.
    6) Talk to the Imperial again.

After some dialogue, Shyle (amnesiac) gives you the [GRIMY FRAGMENT].

Hand 'em over to Roh'kenmou and he leaves for Nabudis. No immediate
reward, but this is only half of a larger sidequest. Wanna do the
rest? Read below. If you've already done the rest, go to Nabreus
Deadlands and talk to Ma'kleou at the normal save point area.

    A Second Medallion

Fly yourself to Archades and stop by Charlotte's Magickery. Another
Nu'mou is fretting here. Talk to Roh'kenmu to learn he's lost the
Moonsilver Medallion. Inquire about it to learn it's been sold and
the man who has it, Otto, is missing. If you know your stuff, the
search shouldn't be long -- he's in Old Archades.

Go down to "Alley of Muted Sighs" and find Otto in the northernmost
part. Talk to him and he'll fork over the [MOONSILVER MEDALLION]
without much hesitation. Return to Roh'kenmu and give the hunkajunk
    back to him.

If you've already helped out Roh'kenmou, go to Nabreus Deadlands
and speak with Ma'kleou at the normal save point area.

    A Third Medallion

Once you've helped out Roh'kenmou and Roh'kenmu in the two quests
detailed directly above, go to Nabreus Deadlands' normal save area
and talk to Ma'kleou. The three kinsmen agree that you are the one
they've been waiting for, the one who can destroy the beasts that
the medallions have sealed away. The Medallion of Bravery and Love
have both been found, and only the Medallion of Might remains to
    be obtained.

It's in "Overlooking Eternity" as the Nu'mou says. If you haven't
done the Roblon bounty yet, the way may be unclear -- the area is
isolated from the rest, after all. Go to "The Slumbermead" and
search the northwestern part of the marsh for a secret off-the-map
    route into "The Fog Mutters."

From there, you can make your way to "Overlooking Eternity." There
are a lot of Dead Bones enemies here, but once you approach the
shrine at the top, a scene takes place. Ma'kleou bestows upon your
party the [MEDALLION OF BRAVERY] and [MEDALLION OF LOVE]. These
can open the locked doors in the Necrohol of Nabudis. As the three
Nu'mou depart (literally) your company, the shrine opens and you
    get the [LUSTERLESS MEDALLION].

Fury, Humbaba, and Chaos are now able to be fought. The end!

    ....thats all

    about the loot....make BIG chains

Silly question I'm sure, but where's the Great Crystal at? I'm near the end of the game btw.

Oh, and how do you fish?

    Spoiler:
The Great Crystal is located in Ancient City of Giruvegan.

    Unlocking fishing minigame:
After talking to Ruksel(he says something about needing a rod)Travel to
Balfonheim Port and find the Fishing Enthusiast in the Chivanry Breakwater. It's located near the aerodrome. She's the old person who'se fishing.Talk to her twice and choose the "That rod" option. After that run to the aerodrome etrance but don't go in.Return back to the old woman(she has left by now) and pick up the rod, named Muramata.Return back to the Estersands and give it to Ruksel. And the minigame is unlocked.

    How to play
Just press the commands that appear on the screen ex.Square circle triangle R2 and so on to cacth fish.

    Hope that helped

The most important rule is think of a strategy. Have a healer, have a main attacker, and use quickenings when neccesary. I have yet to faced him since he has 50 million HP which is a f*cking lot and I really don't have tim at home to play, but I heard you can leave the battlefield anytime and save.

The bad thing I heard is that Yiazmat restores HP as time passes by. So try going back, have strong weapons and armor and good stats, and kick ass. =)

Another question. What level were you guys when you beat the game? I'm at level 53/52 now.
