How did Seifer beat Odin?

It's embarrassing that my universally mirrored ally got defeated by such a wimp.
I mean, reverse zantetsuken right?
But, is it possible that Seifer beat him without PIS, or do you think he really killed him?

Heh... I remember the first time I saw that happen. When Odin appeared, I was like "Heck yeah, I don't have to fight Seifer cuz Odin's gonna slay him." Then Seifer just cut him in half and I was like "Waaaaattttt?!?!?!"

But Siefer turned out to be not hard at all and I did draw a bunch of Aura magics from him, so I'm glad that he didn't get sliced to ribbons.

It was also a pretty cool way to have Gilgamesh appear in the game. ^^

As for how? Idk. The FF Wiki says that Siefer used a reverse Zantetsuken on Odin, and that's how he was defeated, but who knows how he figured out that move.

I'd like to think his Gunblade is sharp enough to cut anything. You have one of the most powerful summons of all time going after someone like Seifer, and SLASH! Odin (and his horse x.x) is cut in half. Just like that. That or his skills evolve throughout the course of the game, up to the point that he was able to dodge Odin's Zantetzuken counter with a move of his own.

It irks me.

My favorites are Diablos, leviathan, Bahamut, Gilgamesh and Odin.
Odin dies like a b**** and I get gilgamesh. Can't I have the cake and eat it too?

I'm at that part of the game on my pc, but I'm not sure if I should keep odin or get Gilga...>.>

If you have Odin before the fight you always get Gil. You have to get Odin after Disc 3 if you want Odin.

If you want to have Angelo Serche's work out well than don't get Odin until after the final Seifer fight obviously. As Gilgemesh shows up when the games internal battle timer gets to a certain value than he shows up. As for how Seifer learnt how to reverse Zant whatever Odin is beyond my head. I wonder where Seifer could have researched Odin's fighting style to even be able to pull that off?

seifer knew he was gonna get pwned so he pulled out the cheat codes and used me first(pokemon ability that copies enemy move but does it first) thats the only way he could have won.

I think the whole thing is a conspiracy!

Gilgamesh used the interdemensional rift to teleport to Seifer and warn him of Odins attack. He told Seifer how to kill Odin with the reverse Zantetzuken and then when Odin died, Gilgamesh came stole his sword(because he knew he wouldn't be powefull enough to get it himself) and finished Siefer off with it.

my heart sank when i saw odin got sliced into 2, that damn seifer... although its a moment in that game i would never forget, kinda like beating that omega weapon

Seifer has a sorceress fromt he future backing him. I'll bet she helped him in that one instance knowing that Odin would be a problem. Or he intended to use it on Squall (or Rinoa if she was in the group to eliminate the other sorceress in the timeline) and Odin, making the first move, caused Seifer to use that one time attack against Odin instead of the intended target. Odin may have very well saved Squall's life.

When Seifer killed Odin, it was supposed to be a demonstration of just how skilled he had become. His capabilities had surpassed even Odin's at that point.
