Not necessarily, I fought them without the rare item ability and didn't always recieve one from both Adamantoise's. I don't even bother with that ability but it would probably increase your luck in getting two.
Yeah and as previously stated, do not MUG! If you mug either Adamantoise, you will not receive an Adamantine! They can sometimes take a while to defeat but it's worth it in the end.
That's strange because I always seem to find one sooner or later. You are running around on the beach part of the island, aren't you? It sometimes can take a while to encounter one but usually you can always manage to see a few there. That's pretty strange.Quote:

the admatoise were pretty easy for me.....but i don't remember the stats i had, srry ;!
That depends on them level, In that situation I strongly recommend to use Tonbbery's command ability ( LV UP ) because I believe :Quote:

Anyone know the easiest way to kill Ultima Weapon? I tried and got light pillered six freaking times in a row..........
To bad I'm not in that 2%, and I allso heard somewhere else that its actually 96%. Who knows.
I swear I posted an easy way to beat Ultima Weapon somewhere in here. I guess I'll just post it again. ;!
Also for my way to beat Ultima will require you to have the following. You will need: Doomtrain (Meltdown), Cerberus (Triple), Shell (optional), Protect (optional), Recover (optional), Revive (optional), Squall's Lionheart, Zell's Ehrgeiz (optional), Holy War, and Aura. These are pretty much all the optional things in the game. If you need help getting any of these things just PM me or write post again in this in this forum.
Ultima Weapon can be really easy. (especially when you compare him to Omega Weapon!) For a character set up I would suggest. One person to have GF, Magic Revive. Another to have GF, Magic, and Recover. The third character to have GF, Magic, and Draw. Really you can have any characters, but I like to use Squall (Lionheart), Zell (Dual), and anyone. I usually use Rinoa or Selphie. Now for the actual battle. First make sure you draw Eden with your character that has draw. You wouldn't want to forget this. (Best summon in the game!) Now with another character I would have them summon Doomtrain. This will significantly lower Ultima's defense. (Meltdown works as well.) Now with the third character I would have them summon Cerberus. This will cast Triple on everyone. (Triple works just as well, but you would have to cast it three times.) Now if you are worried about your defenses, have one person cast protect on all, one person cast shell on all, and then have the third person use Curaga on all injured characters. If people really aren't that injured, have that person cast Aura on everyone. (This is probably very unlikely.) Now have someone use a Holy War while you still have Aura in effect. Finally unleash all of your devastating Limit Breaks. After that just repeat. Cast Aura, use Holy War, and unleash your Limit Breaks. If people get injured use Recover, Revive, or have them cure with magic. They will probably still have triple, so healing should have much of a problem. If you have any questions or any of this doesn't work, just send me a PM or post again in here saying what went wrong. I can just make improvements for you. ;) I really haven't played against Ultima Weapon in a while, so this might not work out perfectly. I hope this helps you a lot!!!
This may not be the easiest way, but it will probably make it pretty easy. I think this was how I fought Omega. I can't really remember though. ):
Excellent ;) but start the fight by Drawing Eden [ Don't forget it  ]
Anyway, I just want to mention that there is actually a hidden save point nearby the final control panel where you use the remaining steam units to activate it. Make sure you save your game there using your Move-Find ability before you fight Ultima Weapon.
ok I'm having problems with ultimecia and I'm pretty sure this is probobly here somewhere but could you answer a couple questions for me
1: my squall is sooooo far in front of all my other charcters (highest squall LV91 and selphyLV30-somethin) what level should the rest of my characters be on to beat her without luck factoring in?
2: do you absolutely need the lion heart? Because I have the punishment but it does almost nothing to ultimecia and greivor.
3: do I need to get bahamut and eden to beat here?
4: what amount of time do I need to beat here (so I can make arrangements to have a sitting for X-min/hours
Hmm. Really the answer to all of them is a matter of opinion. Here's mine:
1. I'd say a good 50-60 party should have a decent chance, but what magic you junction would certainly factor into it.
2. Lionheart is pretty much essential because of Squall's level. This is because an enemy's HP and level are cumulative with his level, so at 91, she'll be pretty tough. It's not too hard to get Lionheart normally but... if you haven't got any Energy Crystals (for your pulse ammo) then it will be very very tough to make. (I'm not saying it's a disaster if you don't have it, but it would really help)
3. I don't personally use GF's, so I wouldn't say you'd need them. I doubt you'd be able to get Eden now (as you'll have missed it on the seven sub-bosses and Ultima is a struggle at any level (you'd really need Lionheart for THAT one...)) but the first level of the Deep-Sea Research Center you shouldn't struggle, and Bahamut should be a breeze.
4. All depends on where you level. If you can find the Island Closest To Heaven/Hell tolerable then a few hours should be all you need.
thanks and I only have 1 energy crystal and thats whats makin it hard and the dragon fang
Well my friend, Dragon Fangs can be won as a result of battle from Blue Dragons if you have the Rare Item Ability on. I remember hearing somewhere that if you use GF Tonberry's Lvl Down on it (lower than lvl 10 I think) you don't need Rare Item. You can find them near the Shumi Village or on the Island Closest to Hell.
Pulse ammo will be harder to get though. There are only two places in the game (that I know of) where you can fight Elnoyles - they drop Energy Crystals. One was the bridge in the middle of Esthar City, but as you can't now get there that's a knock-off. The other is in the Lunatic Pandora. I don't think you can get there either...
You can change Laser Cannons or Energy Generators into Pulse ammo but they're also pretty rare.
thak you soooo much i've actually gotten the pulse ammo turns out ruby dragons drop em and bahamut sicks 2 of em on ya. also I have the stratagy guide and blue dragons drop dragon fangs most of the time even on LV100 so I'll go find some thanks alot
FFGuru89....Excellent ;)
However, To get Lion Heart you need these items:
Dragon Fang ( 4 )
Pulse Ammo ( 12 )
Adamantine ( 1 )
Just like FFGuru89 mentioned, You can get Dragon Fangs by defeating Blue Dragon.
Correction: You can get Dragon Fang by defeating Blue Dragon only, You don't need to use Rare Item or Lvl Down.Quote:

thanks guys I have the lionheart now and I gave ultimecia another try and I got to her final form but the lion heart limit didn't come trough and I died if I can muster the moral I'll try again tomorrow thanks again
yay lionheart
All that, I didn't know...
Thank's for the compliment OW :) and thanks for putting me straight. I honestly didn't know that Blue Dragon's dropped the fang regardless. I guess I just assumed because I had the ability on at the time, and Lvl Down worked for me. And I didn't know Blitz had Power Generators either.
A very knowledgeable colleague sir :D
Regarding Ultimecia khmaniac101
Well here's how I beat her...
I don't try to even out all six characters, after all she puts in three randomly at the beginning. So focus on your three main characters, and kit them up. Now here's the fun bit, if she doesn't summon the three you want, simply *bump off* the ones you don't want, which keeping alive the ones you do! Suicide!
After you get the party you want, then start plugging away. As you've got to the final form, I won't go into the other three stages...
If you can survive Apocalypse and Hell's Judgement then this won't be too much of a problem. Still, if you have any Heroes or Holy Wars, you could use them for this bit. Then plug away with Renzokuken (Aura or low health, whichever you choose though if you're going for the 'Invincible' option then Aura is a must). Your chance of a decent finisher to a Renzokuken depends on how many times you use the trigger, and how successful you are with it. I find that the ones with only four slashes tend to give me nothing or either Rough Divide/Fated Circle, whereas the six/seven slashes gives me Lion Heart more often. It may just be me, but I seem to get Lion Heart more often when I'm at low health, but that could just be random.
My personal recommendation is to use Zell (if you've read issues 1-5 of Combat King), Irvine (Exeter and Pulse/AP ammo can be particularly useful) and obviously Squall. I don't think there's any real strategy you can employ, other than a nice stock of Full-Life, the occasional Meltdown (which works on everything it would seem) and plenty of limits. Luck can play a factor too.
Having said that, good luck :D
well since you helped me so much I'll post this. and I know I should use PM but anyway.
I beat her today it was a long hard battle and she even got rid of squall in her 3rd form but zells and rinoas limits beat her I had 2 heros and I used them on zell and rinoa whn they had 1 health so they were free to use limits and after about a half hour I was able to finally strike her down so thanks everyone couldn't have done it without ya
ok, I need Holy War.
I know how to get i t but...F**k Gilgamesh....does anybody know where to get it else?
or hero drink so I can refine it.
THX
SoD
Let me see...
I believe that there are only three ways to get Holy War in FFVIII:
1 - You can refine Gilgamesh Card to get 10 Holy-Wars and this is by far one of the easiest ways to get this item.
Forget about it!Quote:

3 - Goto Menu > Ability > Med LV Up, You can get 1 Holy War by refining 10 Holy War Trials.
Remember: To get 10 Holy-War Trials, Refine Laguna's card to 100 Heros, each 10 Heros can be refined to 1 Holy War Trials.
Hope that was useful :)
Is there anypoint in collecting all of the magazins inclooding the timber manicks?
Weapon's Monthly issues tell you about the newest weapons that you can upgrade to. If I remember correctly, you don't have to collect them to get them all in order to get the ultimate weapons, though.
Combat Kings give you new moves for Zell's duel limit break, mostly finishers. However, if you, like me, simply use the Duel Abuse Trick, then you use nothing more than Booyah and Punch Rush.
Pet Pals give you new moves for Rinoa's Angelo based Limit Breaks.
Girls Next Door is essentially useless, as it can't be sold, but if you give it to Zone on the white SeeD ship, he'll give you the Shiva card.
Occult Fans clue you in to side quests going on in the world. They can also be sold for a lot of gil, which is nice early on, since you can get one before the Fire Cavern.
Timber Maniacs, I believe give you access to more scenes with Laguna late in the game.
They don't do anything for extra scenes as far as I know (and I've played the game many times on both incarnations). Collecting Timber Maniacs will let you see little articles on Laguna though.
When you go into the 2F Classroom in Balamb Garden and log onto the study panel you can see more about Laguna on Selphie's webpage. I think it's under Garden Festival Committee? I don't remember. Anyway, the more you've collected the more there is about him. Little pictures of places he's been and information on things he's done or been commemorated for. All tied in with Selphie's obsession, of course. Quite cute, I've been through it a few times. ^^
And as to the rest of the magazines...
Weapons Monthly gives you information on the stuff you need to upgrade their weapons at a Junk Store. Useful things, really. Unless you're a veteran and you know everything as you don't have to have them to get the ultimates. You just need the stuff. But even if you know the items you need, collecting is advisable; try reading them in a special order before going into Ultimecia Castle... >.>
Occult Fan gives you little snippets and a bit of insight as to what to do with Pupu, Doomtrain and the like. Not the full thing, 'cause that would be too easy. But enough to get you on your way. So if you're into sidequests, tips and noncompulsory GFs it's probably worth a look. Kind of fascinating in its own right although it hasn't any use in regards to the main quest.
If you're interested in Rinoa's limit break collecting Pet Pals is a little more than advisable as each issue you read lets you teach Angelo, her dog, a new ability.
Combat King, like Pet Pals is used for limit breaks. In this case, Zell's. It teaches you new combinations to do during Duel.
Girl Next Door? Useless. You're too young to read it, or so says the game. Sell it to Zone on the White SeeD ship. Easy money there.
So, in short, Weapons Monthly, Combat King and Pet Pals will assist you in the quest, helping you pwn the monsters more easily while Timber Maniacs, Girl Next Door and Occult Fan are interesting and sell-able but not quest-furthering.
Yay for wasting time re-iterating James' post in more detail. Well, I was just going to correct the scene thing, but I got carried away. xD
Thanks for the info im sure it will come in handy. My friend keeps telling me about a GF called doom train, whats he on a bout? i've played the game a few times but cant fined it please help.
Yeah, Doomtrain is an amazing GF, To summon this GF, You need to find a ring called Solomon's Ring at the Tears Point in Esthar. Also you must gather the following itemsQuote:
My friend keeps telling me about a GF called doom train, whats he on a bout? i've played the game a few times but cant fined it please help.
Steel Pipe X6 :
You can get this item by mugging Wendigo which is probably the easiest way.
Malboro Tentacle X6
You can get this item by defeating Melboro.
Remedy+ X6
You can get this item by refining Remedy x60 using an ability called Med LV-UP
each 10 remedies can be refined to 1 Remedy+
Now, Goto to your items, select the item Solomon's Ring and Doomtrain will accept the items you gathered (Steel Pipes, Melboro Tentacles, Remedies +) and join your party.
As always Omega is completely right :)
All that I would add is the locations of the Occult Fan Magazines which list the clues regarding Doomtrain
Occult Fan I: This is found in the Library in Balamb Garden, close to the first bookshelf. Just look at it and press the button, you'll find it.
Occult Fan II: Often overlooked, this issue is found in the pub in Dollet. I'd recommend that you get it when you can go back to the place after the initial SeeD mission.
Occult Fan III: This is found at Fisherman's Horizon from the Master Fisherman.
Occult Fan IV: This is the one I often found hardest to get, you get it from the Esthar Presidential Aide. I think but I may be wrong that you have to have spoken to Laguna first.
And it's very useful when taking on Omega Weapon believe me ;)
i allways trane on the beachs but as you probably no you get 6 dp on average and dont get that much exp. Where is the best place to train up?
Hmm..Let me see..There are really some great places to raise your party a level with each battle:Quote:

They are a little hard to find at first..These islands contain very powerful creatures, and killing them is guaranteed to raise your party a level with each battle. They may be too tough to take on if you're below level 60 or so.
Island Closest to Hell:
Location: This island is located southwest of the Galbadian Continent.
Monsters: Ruby Dragons, Malboros, Hexadragons, T-Rexaurs, Blue Dragons and Grendel.
Island Closest to Heaven:
Location: This island is located northeast of Esthar, amongst the archipelagos.
Monsters: Malboro, Ochu, Chimera and Tri-Face.
Good Luck!
EDIT: You can't land on any of these Island if you don't have Ragnarok!
Those are really good places to level up, but sometimes I like to level up at the Deep Sea Research Center. Also if I'm trying to get AP I would go to the Cactuar Island. That is probably the best place because the cactuars there are pretty easy to defeat and you get 10 AP for each one you defeat. Also you need to Ragnarok to go to both of these places. If you want to train before you get the Ragnorok, you can go just about anywhere. There isn't really a place that jumps to my mind that would be much better than any other place.
Gah, you're right. I knew it had something to do with Laguna though. Maybe I need to play FF8 more. But you win (For now at least. Muahaha?).
As far as levelling goes, Island closest to Hell was mentioned. This is the optimal levelling spot. Bring along Quistis in yellow HP with her degenerator attack, or just take Doomtrain with someone with a high compatibility. My caompatibility was 1000 with Zell after going through the Deep Sea Research Facility, so that worked out well. Both ways are very good and reliable, but Doomtrain is safer, as it doesn't require you to have a/some character(s) in yellow HP.
