if i'm at the gold saucer (2nd time) to get the keystone from dio. is there any way that at this part in the game I can get a gold chocobo so I can access the ancient forest? if so how!

You can only really have a hope of getting a gold chocobo when you get the highwind, disc 2.

lol, you get the key to the Temple of the Ancients in the Gold Saucer. Go to battle square and go right, approach it and Dio will enter, blah blah blah, congratulations, you now have the key.

You either have to go through the very long breeding process, which is most likely covered on another part of this thread.

or you can fight the Ruby Weapon.

It takes a long time to do the gold chocobo breeding thing, so if you don't have a lot of time on your hands, to do this side-quest in one sitting (you don't want to lose track of which step you're on, it can ruin everything,) then I recommend the fight. You can find Ruby Weapon near the desert prison. I believe it has only a tenth of the Emerald Weapons HP it should be a lot easier to kill. I did the breeding thing so I don't know if the Ruby Weapon gives you a gold chocobo or not, but according to the guide I did the breeding thing from it should give you a gold chocobo.

ok here is how you do that.
git 4 grate Chocobos(Mideel aria) race them to S rank then breed them with a carob nut when you git both kinds and they reach rank S mate them with a carob nut to git your black chocobo, when that happens git a wonderful chocobo(Icicleinn aria) race it till S rank and breed the wonderful chocobo & the black with a zeio nut you should git a gold chocobo like this but save before you try & breed them cuz its unpredictable. i hope I helped.

Hello. I am having trouble defeating Ruby Weapon near Gold Saucer. My LvL is high 70's to low 80's I cant remember. I know I should try to kill him on my own but at this point he is too powerfull for me. If anyone knows how to beat him then please let me know ok?

Well, here is what you will need.

As I’ve told you, there is one main strategy found in my section, with which
you WILL push Ruby Weapon over. I will start with it, then I’ll give you
other suggestions.

First, you need to have the required stuff, listed as always:

- One character lvl 75+.

- Knights of the Round summon materia, doesn’t need to have a single level
mastered. You can get it in a secret cave northeast on the world map(Gold
Chocobo required).

- Ribbon, good old anti-abnormal statuses accessory.

- Mime materia, found in a secret cave that can only be accessed with a Gold
(or perhaps Black) Chocobo.

- W Summon materia, costs 64 000 battle points at the Battle Square(Gold
Saucer).

- Speed plus materia(s) mastered(or nearly), costs 4000 battle points at the
Battle Square(Gold Saucer).

- Apocalypse sword, entirely optional but if you’re gonna use Cloud, use the
Triple AP growth from that sword as your advantage to learn materias that are
requiring high amounts of exp to be mastered.

- HP absorb, totally a must. Can be found in the North Crater and in Wutai.

- 9500 HP+(just to be safe)

- Magic Plus materia mastered.

With these, you got the required stuff to doom Ruby Weapon. Equip these all
any way you wish(except for Knight of the rounds summon, which needs to be
paired with HP absorb). Kill off the two other characters, then enter the
battle with that lone warrior.

Ruby will start off by putting his tentacles in the ground in order to side
attack you from behind. W Summon the knights of the round on all targets
(first the tentacles, then Ruby). After the long ass animation, Ruby will
counterattack with Ultima for nearly 8000 points. STOP, don’t you go use an
Elixir on me. Just Mime yourself, you’ll see. KOTR will be summoned twice
once again, but you won’t waste any MP. Also, since HP absorb was paired with
the summon materia, you will be automatically ALL healed after the
animations. The mastered Speed Plus materias(s) will be giving you a speed
advantage as well. Bad statuses inflicted by Ruby’s physical offenses? No
sweat, you got a Ribbon. There you go, just keep Miming for the whole battle
and you won’t even need to care about the damages dealed by Ruby, since
you’ll be automatically healed after. Just make sure you don’t do ANYTHING
else than Miming your first move(which was W Summon KOTR) and eventually,
Ruby Weapon will be defeated.

Indeed, that strategy’s cheap, so it’s your choice if you want to try
something more fair in which you have to act more. But if you want to stay
cheap((-_-)), you can still try out other materia combos, such as Quadra
Magic Demi3(with HP absorb) and so on. You can also mess around with the
Counter materias, you’re free to do your own different tests!

Sounds to me as though you got a LOT of breeding:Spyfap: to do as well as a lot of battling in the battle square. It is a must that you have these items before even attempting to battle Ruby Weapon.

Er, what exactly is the point of beating Ruby?
Do you get something like, insanely awesome, or...just bragging
rights?

Bragging rights mainly. You DO get a Desert Rose which can be traded to the Kalm Traveler for a Golden Chocobo...but chances are by the point in the game you're capable of killing Ruby, you will already have bred one of these up.

Walk or drive around any forested area. There is a chance that you come across a "Mysterious Ninja". When you beat her, you'll go to a map where it's just her, your party, and a save point. DON'T USE THE SAVE POINT.

Walk up to her and proceed with talking to her. This is the proper order of dialogue:

Yuffie: You spikey-headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time!
You: Not interested.

Talk to her again

Yuffie: You're pretty scared of me, huh?
You: Petrified
Yuffie: I'm really gonna leave! REALLY!
You: Wait a second!
Yuffie: You want me to go with you?
You: That's right.
Yuffie: All right! I'll go with you!
You: Let's hurry on.

From this point forward, Yuffie joins your party.

There was a coupla times when I met her the first time I battled in a forest. Then were other times when it took a few battles before she appeared. There was even one time when it seemed like she just would never show up. (But she eventually did after about 30 minutes)

Yes, you can meet her just outside of Cosmo Canyon.

Don't worry through its pretty random in forest areas. You know what really helps? Whenever I leave the Mythril Cave headed to Junon I go to the forest areas just east of Junon between fort condor. I usually get Yuffie there, and pretty early on, because she is a good fighter for those boss fights ahead. So yeah, just stick around those forest areas near your present location and there's a random chance she'll pop up, then just follow all of Dimmufan's instructions. The first time I played long time ago I kept using the Save point and she stole half my gil and left XD. Don't be like that!

well mines more of a question for really experienced players

I have 3 questions

1: I heard that the ultimate weapons increase in power as certain conditions are achived (ex. as you kill more enemies with it Vincent's death penalty it grows more powerful) could you tell me if this is true and what increases the power of the others

2: I saw on youtube that is was possible to overload the game to the point you can kill emerald weapon with one hit with the death penalty (you have to kill 60,000 somethin enemies though) is this true

3: and finally does putting in more and more of a type of materia strengthen it (ex. 3 KOTR makes it do 3 times as much damage-with the 9999 a hit being the limit-)

1. Yeh, all the ultimate weapons have something that powers them up.

Cloud's Ultima Weapon: The more HP Cloud has, the more damage it does.

Barret's Missing Score: The more materia equipped on the weapon, the more damage it does.

Tifa's Premium Heart: The more Misses you get while using her limit break, the more powerful it gets.

Red XIII's Limited Moon: The more MP he has, the more damage it does.

Cid's Venus Gospel: Same as Red XIII.

Cait Sith's HP Shout: Same as the above two strangely.

Yuffie's Conformer: Does more damage if the enemy she's attacking has more experience than her.

2. I'm pretty sure this isn't true as aren't all attacks done by the party capped at 9,999 damage?

3. If I'm not mistaken, this only works with Independant materia like HP PLUS, MP PLUS, etc.

I'm sorry but I hardly understand what your trying to ask. If you asking on how to get Yuffie then lol just read the above posts and that will tell you what you need to do in order to get her. And the guy in the red coat is Vincent. To get him go to Nibeliheim and head in the Shinra Mansion at the top of the town. Before getting Vincent you must unlock a safe at the room at the top floor of the mansion.



The combination is: Right 36, Left 10, Right 59, and Right 97. Here's a Tip: Don't go past any number while entering the combination or it won't work. Once you open the safe you have to fight the Boss: Lost Number. After you win you will receieve the "Basement Key". Go across the hall to the right, and into the room at the bottom and enter the basement. Moving up you'll see a door at the very top, unlock it with the key and Vincent will be in the coffin.



Talk to him 2 times then leave the room and head into the door to the right for the Sephiroth Cutscene. After that's finished leave the room and head past Vincent's door and as you walk to the stairs up Vincent will join your party. Remember to talk to Vincent 2 times before going into the room where Sephiroth is. And it is recommended that you do this on your first trip to Nibelheim. I hope this helps you.
