Spoilers ahead kiddies, dont read this post if you haven't beaten ff8 yet.

So even though I beat the game, I haven't replayed it in awhile and my memory might be foggy so bear with me. The game starts with Squall, a student at Garden, training and getting ready for some missions that he is deployed to do. Get sent out to fight some country, do some crazy assassination mission on a train, cool. Then the whole Sorceress Edea storyarc appears. Failed assassination attempt on her, Squall is seen in bad condition at the cliffhanger ending of disc one. Not bad, let's continue.

Disc two. Squall and crew escape prison with the help of some ginger Sonic the hedgehog characters that apparently know him. After escaping, one of the Gardens get missiled into charcoal, so while one team attempts to stop the ICBM's, Squall has to battle Garden's main shareholder/accountant aka NORG. wtf is this I dont even After the battle though, everything is okay because NORG's people apologize on his behalf for trying to overthrow the school. Its all gravy. Unfortunately the missiles were not stopped but it's k because Squall accidently caused the Garden to sprout wings and fly away from the disaster. I'm not kidding. After that, some forces invade the flying circus in search for a girl that has been sending Squall back in time via flashbacks to change the present. The oddities continue when upon going through the wreckage of the old garden that got blasted, everyone all realizes at once that they were all raised in an orphanage together by the Sorceress who Squall was told to assassinate.

Do you really want me to continue explaining why this story is dumb, or have you not figured it out for yourself yet?
Ok, i'm with you on the flying garden, that was a little over the top. But i'm not going pretend that every other final fantasy game didn't have over the top moments. You named all the events, but you should have payed attention to the character development in this game, it was good. Rather you liked the love story or not, i thought it was put in this game without sacrificing or taking from the main plot of the game. Sorry, but I can't take what you just posted and just write off the rest of the story as dumb.

Yeah.. I did enjoy VIII too, however everyone knows the story is a complete mess. I wouldn't call it great, but it was bearable up until the orphanage part, that really threw me off. It's like square randomly came up with ideas to throw into the story in an attempt to link things together that they knew wouldn't make sense. They had a lot of good ideas but it's like they weren't properly connected.

Imo, the characters were not well thought out. The only one I think, they spent time on was squall, with him being the main character and all. Everyone else was not memorable, in any way. Zell possibly but Rinoa was nothing special, Selfie was just the random kookey character every other rpg has; character design was very plain. Poor irvine has almost zero involvement in plot and Quistis was only really important because she was the hot teacher at the beginning of the game.

I did like the junction system once I got the idea, but drawing magic is possibly the worst idea ever imo.

    Just my thoughts.
Anyway, to stay on topic, I wanted to add Nino Ruins from MML2, I wasn't fond of the place since it's time consuming having to move through water and control the levels.

And two, for FFVI, I didn't like the Magiteck Research facility(wtf is up with sucky research facilities?) And the cave to the Esper word gate was annoying. Random battles every 2 steps.

I'm thinking about creating a hybrid. A dolphin-monkey. Half dolphin, half monkey. Do you think it's possible?
I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

You guys are getting waaaaay off topic here, heh. Maybe you should start another thread about it altogether, preferably in the FF8 or General FF forum. (For the record, I agree that the whole "we all came from the same orphanage, and the GF's made us forget" thing seemed really farfetched and came out of nowhere.) Anyhoo...

Another in-game location that is the devil I know of is Burner Man's stage in Megaman & Bass. Seriously, you have to be like a ninja to even make it all the way to the boss room in that stage.

Megaman & Bass is like the hardest MM title i've ever played.

I'm surprised we made it to page two before anyone brought the Pharos up. Hate that place. And the Great Crystal. Giruvegan could be a pain too the first time around. I liked the game well enough but man, SE went a little overboard with some of these areas.

That's all I can think of right now but I know there's several other locations in other games I have an active dislike for.

Did anybody else play the music level in Rayman? I spent hours tying to make it through that migraine-inducing mess.

Re: Worst location in a game?

The Great Cathedral in Shin Megami Tensei... ugh. You know, the navigation in the game is already bad enough being a first person and all, then you add in 16 floors you have to throughly travel through (8 floors/8 basements), multiple lategame bosses, damage floors, random warp rooms, pitfalls that drop you down a floor, random battles almost every other step, and a map that constantly goes out every so often, you are in for a ride. Having a full set of demon companions are absolutely necessary because of all the bosses having a wide array of immunities and abilities that can mess you up quickly.

One part of the game I enjoyed though is the different bosses you have to face depending on what alignment you are. If you were law aligned, you face Surt (immune to fire, resistant to pretty much everything else, can 2-3 hit most party members), Astaroth (abuses lightning spells that stun the party), Arioch (Immune to all physical damage, resistant to everything else; the male hero literally defends the whole battle), Takeshi the chaos hero (stuns/charms most of the time, not too hard), Lilith (constantly spams ice spells that freeze you so you lose a bunch of turns), and the king of all beasts, Asura (his physical hits 5-8 times for over 150 damage a piece; most characters have around 600-700 hp. His Megidolaon does about 200-260 to everyone, no block.)

If you decided to fight for Chaos? You have to fight the angels Uriel (not hard), Gabriel (completely immune to physical damage, this boss is extra hard because most of the chaos demons you have are good for physical damage only ugh -_-), Raphael (abuses instant death spells, Megidolaon), Yuji the law hero (lightning/instant death magic bs again), and then finally the archangel Michael (the equivilent of Asura). And if you went the neutral path? You have to kill everyone.

This dungeon is the reason why myself and 90% of the people who downloaded this game have quit playing it.

Meier: Hey Pete, I said I started to, it just didn't end the with the same number of women. Then again this one is kind of on the outs with me if she doesn't straighten up and fly right so that means I will be back in it for the thrill of the kill. Got some in the reserves. Even got a rePETEr (<---- like that ay? AYYYYY?) on the back burner.

Block: I do like the rePETEr except it kinda makes it sound like you're going to pork Pete. No homo.
