Whens the PS2 FF's coming to PS3?

I've been waiting years to play FF10, mainly because I didn't jump on the PS2 because of Halo and a lot of Xbox games, hell I abandoned PS and went to Microsoft cuz I thought they where gonna have superior online functions, etc.... And then I got that turd box called 360, and it broke... 3 times.... One time right out of the box.

It pisses me off, buying systems that are destined to break, but then I got PS3, and I've had no problems with it thus far. So anyway I could buy a PS2 used, and look for FF10 used, but they only have gamespots around where I live, no game exchanges or anything second hand, all new stuff... So I think it'd be great if they rereleased FF10-13 on PS3 with upped graphics, and trophys. I mean, we live in an age where everythings digital now, why would I want to go buy dead old PS2 discs, why would I want to buy a PS2 I have a PS3? I'm not even asking them to make PS3 backwards compatible, at least release them like you did that snuff game God of War...

One word. E-Bay. You can get stuff real cheap and then sell it back when your done. Sometimes more than what you paid for it. PS3 is backwards capable. Mine plays all ps1 and ps2 games.

You can get some of the early ones off playstation network. I think it only goes up to FFVIII though, as for past that, we're just gonna have to settlefor the PS2 versions.

I know. When I want to play FFXII (only PS2 FF I've played), I don't like to break out the PS2 system. It's a step back from the PS3. I wish they'd make them available on the PS3. Maybe not for the PSN, since I'm sure downloading FFXII would take a LONG time, especially with my slow ass internet. But maybe they could port the PS2 FFs onto PS3 discs like other games have been ported to later systems?

Thirteen is already on the PS3. Just wanted to throw that out there since I saw that one in your original post.

Otherwise, it's not likely that we'll see the PS2 FF titles released until either very late in the PS3's life, or perhaps sometimes in the lifespan of the PS4... which could be another two, three, five years from now.

Oh sorry I forgot which one was last, seeing as how I never got a chance to play them. But I really don't get why they do it for other games like God of War and not FF, Kingdom Hearts is another one I'd like to play.

Well I still hope Square decides to release them like they did FF7-FF9 even if its not likely to happen its what I want can't I at least want it to happen?

Owning the physical copy is better.

1) To make up for your mistake for going to the original Xbox (which is even worse than the 360 in game library) over a PS2.

2) PS2 is a great system.

3) Your PS3 does not have backwards compatibility for PS2 games

4) PS2s are very cheap now.

And where do you live? Depending on that, your area should have some used PS2s & FFXs. If not ebay or amazon. If not that, then Loco's words seem to be what may happen: that those PS2 FFs may be released on the PS4 in some form.

Square's already done one HD collection. 3 Tomb Raider games (now in their hands after merging with Eidos) have been re-released. Given that Tomb Raider games have been terrible all along, but more so in recent years, and they were deemed worthy of re-releasing, there's really no excuse to not give FFX, X-2, and XII a similar treatment, given their staggering popularity.

Before I bought my PS3 I tried finding some of those, and the ones I did find were incredibly expensive compared to the one I bought. (Ones with backwards, albeit limited backwards, capability were like... $700 - $800, while the one I bought was around $300).

Buying a $300 PS3 and a $60 refurbished PS2 is cheaper, and IMO, a better deal. (Although I had my old PS2 so I didn't need to buy a new one for anything).

As for re-releasing FF-PS2 games on the PS3, it'd be pretty cool if they did that, but I don't think they will so soon. (Sony's the decision maker, really, they're the ones that put things in their store) and Sony is still making money off PS2 games. Personally, I can find the old PS2 games for pretty cheap (~$10) at Gamestop, even Blockbuster carried a couple old titles in a large box for $5 each. I'm sure you could get them for similar prices on E-Bay, or even Craigslist.

Oh, didnt know they were so much. I got my ps3 when it first came out. The big huge thing. Need to bring it in to get it fixed though, disc reading needs replacing.

Why do you guys keep saying Ebay? Ebay is scammer heaven, anyway yea I should of bought a PS2 instead of an xbox, but I want you to name one shooter on PS2, that was better than Halo. I haven't played one.... And I'd buy a PS2, but why? I have a PS3, and I don't feel like buying another older system that I have to fool with and hook up to the rest of my stuff, I already have a PS3, Xbox, Sega Genesis, SNES, and a dvd player hooked up... Do I have to add more just because Sony sucks? Even 360, a shitty hardware failing brick, plays backwards, its ridiculous.

I really don't agree with that one, physical quality's can scratch and dematerialize. They also have to be loaded, a virtual content buy is tied to an email and a password, meaning I can own it as long as they have my account. A physical copy can be stolen, a virtual copy can't...

Physical Copy is 10 times better then digital. I have a digital copy of a couple games, can't play them now cause I don't own, the game, physically.

Also every FF game I own physically, is also on my computer, digitally.

That's why you choose your seller wisely, by looking at their feedback and feedback score (you can usually find people with a score of 100%). I have yet to be scammed since shopping with reputable sellers.

I've never played Halo, so I can't compare myself, but Resident Evil 4? I feel that was the PS2's best action/shooter game.

Resident Evil doesn't have Multiplayer. That's pretty much what Halo would be compared to. I personally thing RE4 Story and gameplay was better then Halo, but Halo had great multiplayer.

RE4 came out about 5 years after Halo. Plus it was a GC exclusive and I owned a GC and played RE4, I know PS2 was good, I just didn't get around to buying one, and I was gonna stick with microsoft I enjoyed their online stuff. but 360 killed it for me.
