What games you still play?

We all know that when new games and consoles come out, they tend to leave the games that came before it in their shadow, so to speak.
This thread is dedicated for discussion about the possible retro games that you still play at your home despite all the hype with the current games.

I still play many of my old games, I prefer them to the newer ones. The original Playstation was my favorite console, for it has many great RPGs that I still play today (Digimon World 1, 2, and 3; Jade Cocoon; Legend Of Dragoon; Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX etc) I will never get rid of my beautiful games. Most have a story to tell with them for me.

I'm never one, to have to play a game the second it comes out. In fact I usually play the "newer" games waayyy, WAY after everyone else has.

And i occasionally grab games like Urban Champion,Elevator Action,Mega Man, Chip & Dale,Felix,Pac Man,Technos Ice Hockey,Nintendo world cup soccer, Prince of Persia,Balloon Fight,Mario Bros, Donkey Kong vs. Mario, Metal Slug, Killer Instinct etc.

Not to mention a lot of PSX,N64,GBA games as well.

I still pop in a Tomb Raider game once in a while. How can I not give some attention to my first video game, especially one which I have so many fun memories of? I also still play the original Metal Gear Solid game, FFVII, Rayman, and Wild 9 every now and then too.

Unfortunately, I didn't really play many RPGs. I wasn't really someone who kept up with the gaming news when I was six/seven years old. I played the games my mother bought me and my brother, and mum wasn't the RPG type. I don't even think she knew what they were. All I know is that she HATED FFVII. Probably because I over played it, and the music finally drove her mad. Lulz. So I'm still in the process of discovering older RPGs.

The only thing I wish was that I was brought up in the NES/SNES era. I like the classic, 2D feel... ;-;

Shining Force 1 and 2. Not my first video games by any stretch, but certainly the first that I completed on my own (I used to play LucasArts and Sierra adventure games with my parents as a kid). These games single-handedly made me glad I chose the Genesis over the SNES. I own like 3 versions of them now: the original copy, digital copies for the Wii and the copies included in the latest Genesis collection that came out for PS3/360.

Kind of feel like playing them now.

I Still Play Alot Of My Old Games, Cause I Had So Many Memories Writen Into Each Of Them. I Like To Revisit My Past Sometimes, Which Is Always Fun. I Like The Present And The Future, But I Also Love My Past. I Will Not Get Into Detail About What Specific Games I Still Play To This Day From A Long Time Ago. Anyway, Happy Posting

I've recently gone back to playing Super Smash Bros: Melee again. We have game tourneys every Friday night these days at my house. I invite friends round, we drink and play until we can't see/ be bothered to look what we are doing.

I've also been back on Gladius for the PS2, that's a welcome re-visit. It's a great game and, I think, a sadly under-reated one too.

I'm after finding a copy of Pokémon: TRading card game too. Sadly to no avail so far.

Even though there's a few new games that I would like to get my hands on, I haven't really had the chance to do that. So, I've been searching around for my older gems of games to keep me occupied when I want to get back into some gaming. It's been a lot of fun to replay some of these titles.

I have recent save files for: Earthbound, Illusion of Gaia, Final Fantasy VI (GBA version) and Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars.

I also have a few save files of games that I didn't get to play when they were first released. The most notable one would be Paper Mario on the N64.

No matter what new game just came out or whatever game I am currently playing whenever me and my buddies get together we always end up bringing out the good old N64 and play Smash Bros for hours hahaha, still a great game to this day. The newer installments aren't that bad either but we like the original the most.

I still play FF VII VIII X and X-2 cause those are the best ^_^. Also NFL Blitz (the 1st one on PS), Smackdown vs Raw 2008 cause its the best one besides 2010. and Smackdown 2 Know Your Role. (Ireally don't get much time for games anymore.

FFVI, VII, Silent Hill 1, Resident Evil 1, Dead Space (even though its for ps3 and xbox 360) . Pac-Man, GTA SA, RFOM (resistance fall of man), Battle Toads (MOST IMPOSSIBLE GAME FOR NES!!! cant pass 3rd level on it, lol)

I have two PC's back at home, and one of them is pretty old, my brother keeps it just so he can continue with his work whenever is someone using the new one. I have few older games installed on it so you can say I use it frequently, I still love to throw few skirmish matches in Starcraft and Command & Conquer, I also play Quake II, Counter Strike 1.6 and Unreal Tournament, quite often against my brother or I just find a decent server to play on.

Besides that, I love to play games on older consoles, though I must admit, it's usually via emulators.

I don't care for the newer games at all. I mainly play the PS1 Final Fantasies and a few other RPGs of that era. When it comes to newer games I like Gran Turismo 4 and I want Gran Turismo 5. FFXIII does not look good to me also FFXII seems kind of not for me as well. But anyways the games I play still and have replayed quite a bit are...

Final Fantasy IX (This game is my most loved game ever.)
Final Fantasy VIII (Replayed this way too much!)
Final Fantasy VII (Absolutely love this game.)
Final Fantasy VI (My second favorite FF game.)
Final Fantasy V (I just love it very good replay value.)
Final Fantasy IV (I have not played it in a long time and I don't have it anymore but I'm going to get it again. I really like this one.)
Chrono Cross (Probably one of my second favorite games behind FFIX.)
Legend of Dragoon (Awesome game! I love it it is tied with Chrono Cross for me.)
Gran Turismo 1,2,3 and 4 (These games are very fun it is a blast driving the Nurburgring with the G25 steering wheel in a Mazda RX7!)
