Clearly the hackers were trying to get information on Deus Ex. Besides the possibilities listed in the article as to what they hackers could do with what they stole I fail to see a reason as to hacking SE. Perhaps it was just the target they chose. SE seems like an odd target and they haven't been "upsetting" anybody like Sony. Indeed it gets tiresome, its stupid, and a shame that people would pull a d*** move such as what has been reported. In the end nobody may take responsibility or claim responsibility, usually it's a good idea not to direct attention if the person committed the crime. Maybe they weren't looking for fame and if they were it is clear that the person(s) are not all there if they feel accomplishment/pride from hacking into SE's websites.
Like in all forms of stealing I do not condone this recent action taken at the expense of SE and its "customers". In the case of SE it does not appear to be similar to Sony's case where there are rumors flying around as to whom had done the deed. Nor Statements of denial or accusation.
Why would any of us disclose that we hired assassin(s). Then they would know whose trying to assassinate them. Unless of course, the plotter puts their name on the list as well to not draw suspicion.
