The Walking Dead (PC and XBOX)

I just got this a few days ago and have spent a fair bit of time trying out the different options in order to change the way people react to me. I think it's a pretty solid game to be honest.

The actual game-play itself can be a bit slow at times and the puzzles are a tad easy but I wasn't expecting it to be Monkey Island. It delivered exactly what it promised; a choice-making, fight for yours and others' life, zombie survival story. I really enjoyed it as well. The characters were spot on, the drawings were pretty damned good and suited the series' graphic novel origins.

Did anybody else play this? What did you think?

Just as a side note; I've never seen the programme.

Re: The Walking Dead (PC and XBOX)

I got this one when it was released, spent a few hours trying out different options. It was pretty fun. For some reason I was under the impression it was going to have some first person shooter aspect to it, but that's okay, still just like the series as far as intensity goes. Glad they have 3 save slots to; I'd go nuts if I could only have played it with one save to continue the later episodes with.

Hyz, you are missing out completely. I've only seen season one but you have got to make an effort to watch it, it's only 6 episodes. Some of the reviews I read on gamefaqs claim that the game is better than an AMC episode but that's a weird comparison if you ask me, lol. Although the game does play just like an episode.

Anyone know when the release date for episode 2 is?

I don't know an exact date but it's the end of this month.

I've intended to see it and never had chance. By that I mean I've never seen it on t.v or anything in order to watch it. I may buy it on dvd.

yeah I payed $23 on Steam for all 5 playable episodes and compared to the $30 I payed for the 6 episodes of the AMC show. I think we got a winner here. And, one episode a month is hardly a wait compared to Hellsing Ultimate which we all love but have to wait a year or more per episode.

Originally the release was may 30th but clearly that didn't happen. I'm a fan of the show but never got into the comics because they cost more than watching the tv haha, the game though is canonical to the comics even though the game isn't canonical in nature, it is like a prequel to the comics. (The show and comics have some huge differences)

I'm only playing through it once right now, not trying out all the different deicisions and just dealing with the consequences of the actions. I do like that it showed at the end of the episode the percentage of players that made the same choice as you or didn't.

Personally I loved it. It reminds me a lot of Heavy Rain on PS3, but with more zombies and a little bit more action. I love the visual style, as a big fan of the graphic novels. I do like the new characters. I also like how you come across some of the characters from the graphics novels like Glen (who is one of my favourites anyway).

    The Walking Dead!

I bought this from steam last month and have both episodes and currently awaiting the 3rd.

Had anyone played this? Its truly amazing for a point and click game, I'm a fan of the series and comics so this game for me was easy to enjoy, but I can't see why most people fans of walking dead or not wouldn't enjoy this game, the story and character building of a group of survivors is that of nothing I've ever seen in a computer game before.

    I highly recommend it.

    I swear it's on PS3 too?

Anyway, is it a must get, even if you didn't get into the show? I work so much, I rarely get to watch the shows I want to or find interesting. I don't think I'm big on the latest trend of pay-as-you-go gaming. I like having physical copies of everything. The day they making gaming 100% digital is the day I stop gaming.

Re: The Walking Dead (PC and XBOX)

I think it's worth it, Entity. I just played through the second episode a few times the other day to try out different things. It's actually getting better in my opinion. Definitely worth a look as it's not even that expensive.

As for it being on PS3: yes it is available. Dunno why I didn't put that.

Re: The Walking Dead (PC and XBOX)

It is definitely a must get. If you like games where the choices you make really matter then you will love this.

I finished Episode 2 the other day, and it was amazing. Really engaging, just like the comics and/or the TV series.

I'm really impressed with TWD video game. When i heard was one of those point and click Telltale games like The Back to the Future and Jurassic Park games i was sceptical but it's pretty awesome tbh. I LOVE the characters, This group is even better than Ricks group in the Comics/TV Show. Clementine is adorable, She is the sweatest NPC of any game i've ever played. She's in such a savage environment you just want to protect her so fiercely. Well played Tellktale. Great game.

If you haven't played it i suggest you do so. Part 3 is due out the middle of this month

Holy crappers did anyone play through episode 3 yet?

I did yesterday instead of playing borderlands 2 and let me tell you I think I repeated the phrase 'c'mon are you serious?' at least fifteen times. Every event in this chapter had me gripped then the ending is like a huge wtf moment.

I swear this game gets better with every episode. I played episode 3 the other day, and it was truly amazing. Some WTF moments in my playthough, but overall, really great. Seriously can't wait for 4 now.
