This is fantastic news! Some of those crossovers have been exceptionally delightful.

Nippon Ichi Software, NIS, a Japan based game developer, has been going through some rough times in the recent years. However, it seems that things have turned around for them as they are going to be opening a new studio. NIS is most well known for the Disgaea series, but produces many of the JRPGs that make it over to the US shores. They also do crossover and collaborative work with other studios, often Compile Hearts and Idea Factory.
The new studio they reported is for them to secure a large amount of human resources along with mid-career recruitment. They also said that the studio with do their own independent work, but also work with the main studio in Gifu Prefecture, on collaborative work. It is likely that if they are trying to get a larger employee pool, they will be making use of them to help staff existing projects.
It is likely we'll see more games from them in the future and they may also produce games faster or have higher quality. Considering the types of games they make, it is likely faster. They usually have a pretty set style that doesn't require high end graphics.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

Indeed, I love the games that come out of NIS. I keep hoping more of their 20th anniversary games make it over. One is a visual novel which looks really interesting, but unfortunately visual novels are tough sells over here. But Aksys is brave enough to do it. Anyway, the crossovers that NIS done this generation have been a lot of fun. And they have a engine that they keep working with and iterating on, so they actually put out games pretty regularly thanks to that as well.
Wonder what sort of stuff we'll get from the Osaka branch.
