I saw this too, it does look like it can live up to the mega man games, after all, its by the same developer. I have high hopes this will be a good game, it was a great idea putting it on kickstarter. Of course people are going to rapidly support ideas like this.

EDIT: Mighty No.9 has a theme song now, here it is!

That sounds excellent. I heard it in the background of the Kickstarter video but only in bits and pieces. Looks like Mighty No. 9 has far surpassed their goal. As of this writing, they eclipsed $1.5 million. I hope they get enough for console releases. That would be neat. I may have to up my pledge to $40 for the soundtrack.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for the side-scroller genre. This looks equal parts fresh and familiar.
    Hero façade. Villain at heart.

I was worried that this was a giant Cease and Desist order waiting to happen until the President of Capcom announced that they contributed ten thousand dollars to the Kickstarter, commented that they wish they could offer Inafune more and wished he would come home. This probably doesn't mean anything much...but I hope it does. The game looks fabulous. I already have a wallpaper of Mega Man tagging out with a very confident-looking Beck. The sheer amounts raised so far is pretty staggering and definitely says something about the oft disparaged Mega Man fan base. The fact that Inti Creates is backing and their amazing staff for the game is VERY encouraging. I just want a PS3/4 release. Much as I love my computer, I have tried to play Keiji's creations on a PC before. *shudders at the thought of the MMX CDROM hiding in his closet*

When it comes out, I'll be there. Maybe Capcom will pick up Mega Man now that the fanbase is confirmed. A franchise war between these two would be phenomenal...or ever better a future collaborative effort like a crossover? Idk. It's all very exciting.

Fear not, this is not...the end of this world.
