    Legend of Dragoon.

Coming to PSN next month. Im excited about this one, having always heard amazing things but never actually having had the chance to play it. I've heard its an epic RPG spanning 4 cds (woah!) and there are some very difficult battles which should make for an interest first run for me.

To those that have played it, care to give a spoiler free detailed analysis?

expect side bosses to be a bitch and leveling up to be very difficult later in the game towards the end of the game. find the rest out yourself

I thank THE LEGEND OF DRAGOON because it wasn't for this game I would have never started playing FINAL FANTASY and discovered FINAL FANTASY X which is my favorite game I would be more than happy to put this pic as my signature.

It is a lovely game, the battle system is hands down one of my favorites from the Psone days. I actually can't remember if I finished it or not. I think I got close but was getting frustrated so I put it down and then gave it away.

I agree with Tydis level grinding is a pain in this game so brace yourself before hand. I can't believe you've never played it Rowan.

    This.

I recall it being awfully similar to certain Final Fantasy games, this game has it's own version of summons and limit breaks, one thing I always found neat about it's gameplay is that both you and your opponents can deal combos in battle.

Never really liked this game. I didn't finish it, I got somewhere to disc 3 or 4. I thought it was rather boring all throughout, including the battle system.

I've been thinking of giving the game another try just so I can finish it, and it's been so long I don't remember anything about the game. But I think that just goes to show how unintersting I thought it was. I have a rather good memory and tend to remember most things.

    Re: Legend of Dragoon.

When's it available on the European/Australasian PSN? I'm keen to play this, having heard good things.

EDIT: Jokes, it says "next month".

    This post just got awkward.

EDIT2: Rowan, you may be out of luck. Everything I've read discusses a North American release only, for the time being. Eurogamer says: "Alas, a European release has not yet been confirmed, but we're chasing Sony for clarification now."

    Re: Legend of Dragoon.

Not an over-all difficult game. I never died once during my time playing. Do not take that as it being easy cause boss fights had a challenge, I was just able to come out the victor. Inventory is limited to 32 items and every item counts. So six "potions" take up six slots. Battle system can be really fun though it can get repetitive after a while but it will always keep you engaged.

I liked the story and the characters were serviceable. The story was the better of the two. The lore is pretty detailed which lends to the weight of the story. Can't remember much of the music.

I should give this another go. Been some time I last played.

    Re: Legend of Dragoon.

Legend of Dragoon was a great game. The characters were enjoyable and there were some comedic moments mixed in with some serious moments. Battle system was innovative for its time. You have to time your attacks correctly, similar to Super Mario RPG, or you do little damage. The issue with the game is that the boss difficulty does have some severe spikes. The game likes you lead you into a false sense of security, than you run into a boss that you will wipe on in under five turns. Pick your favorite toons for your three person party, as mastering their skills can take a while.

I am at the end of Disc 1. I really want to get back into this game. I enjoyed every moment of it. Sadly, I probably wont be playing it any time soon. I do recommend everyone give this game a try. I enjoy Disc1 at least

I can remember the combos they were exceptionally fun it was a matter of reflexes and timing.
I didn't play far through this game I was borrowing it off a friend but he had to move so he took it with him one day I might purchase it to finish it.

    Re: Legend of Dragoon.

I played, and won, the whole thing back in my childhood. The story was good. I liked all of the characters except for that hammer-wielding girl in the skirt. leveling up and the world maps were fun, but my favorite was that law city where you have to enact your own laws to progress further in the story. Good times.

    Re: Legend of Dragoon.

I just bought this from PSN the other day. Didn't really have to since I still have my original PSOne discs, but hey, it was cheap and I do love the game. I actually have a Rose figure that I bought way back in the day because I loved her character so much. And sadly, I never finished it for some reason. I was very close to the end, but I think I may have encountered a game breaking glitch or something. So long ago I don't remember. But I'll play it again soon, and maybe even get all those silly Stardusts too.

I do have very fond memories of soloing Lloyd with Rose once.

true. but this game goes its own ways with things no limit breaks instead additions and attacks are one, transformations are stronger except twards the end of the games when you surpass your dragoon attack status, Items in stead of learning magic, and none turnd based action. game was the S&#T forreal

I just downloaded this game off the PS store, this will be my first experience with the game. I plan to start playing after I finish FFIX. I watched youtube gameplay before I went through with my decision. I look forward to playing it soon.
