Portal on the PS3. I remember everyone was talking about it a couple years ago, so it was good to be finally able to play it. it's actually a really fun, yet short game, and Glados (however her name is spelt) gives it a lot of dark humor. I think it took about 3 hours to complete with the last few levels taking the longest to finish.

If we're speaking generally, it was probably a Sonic the Hedgehog game, yeah. Those are fun to run through. As for a game I'd never beaten before, the last one was Shining Force. I'd already beaten the second one, so I figured, why not finish the job?

I have finished River City Ransom for the 1st time, putting those thugs in their place. It's a pretty tough game even just by going through the standard difficulty. Found myself having to farm a bunch of money so I can power my stats up. The last 2 fights were pretty easy though.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes, a super hero game I never knew I wanted. It's charming, genuinely funny, most importantly fun to play. The amount of content this game has is insane. I've spent 20 hours at least just unlocking and purchasing characters and vehicles, doing side missions/challenges and I'm only at 47%.

Lack of challenge is the only flaw I can think of, though somewhat understandable, that and the way characters behave during flight. Don't let looks deceive you, Lego Marvel Super Heroes is a game you'll most surely have fun with, even more so if you have someone to play with co-op.

Just finished Beyond Two Souls last weekend, and the Burial at Sea Part 2 DLC for Bioshock Infinite.

Beyond Two Souls could have been a really good game. Like a really good game, but the slow parts were cripplingly slow, and the really solid, action parts were all back loaded into the last 1/3 of the chronological end of the game. The rest of the game probably could have been more succinctly told, but wasn't, and it felt like it dragged ass for way too long. There were points when I was really hoping for the game to just end.

I do however love Quantic dream's use of the controller and the full range of the motion sensitivity. My only issue with the in game controls was with the real time evasion of attacks. The game teaches you how to dodge or block, but sometimes they want you to dodge away from a punch or kick, when instinctively you're thinking counter, or vice versa.

As for Bioshock Burial At Sea Part 2, I loved it. It was a continuation of part 1, obviously, and further helped to make sense of everything. The gameplay was solid as usual, and had much more emphasis on stealth and using different available technologies to stun, rather than kill your enemies. There was also a terrain based stealth factor, which was pretty simple. Stepping through water or broken glass would make noise, duh. It also was a trip back to Columbia, which was cool to see, because I loved that setting.

Long story short, I enjoyed it. Mostly because I have the season pass, so I didn't have to shell out 15 bucks for it.

Earth Defense Force 2025. Felt more like an upgrade than a sequel to 2017 but still a great experience. Of course I've only played through with the Ranger on easy so I still have lots to do. Have tried the other three classes a few times and they are good though I think the Air raider will be a pain to solo. I'd rather not play with randoms and my friends have already moved on to X1/PS4 without my broke ass.

The story is not as engaging(though both are simplistic), the music is not as good, the levels seem a bit smaller(thankfully not as small as IA), the new spiders suck, being bitten can be annoying, dragons could use some work. Where the game shines are the graphics and variety in classes, weapons, and enemies, making it far less repetitive than 2017.

Hopefully now I can get back to FFIX.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, on Solid Normal mode. Fantastic game, any shortcomings I thought it might have had were remedied by its bittersweet ending. The whole (incredibly long) sequence hit me right in the feels (and I never talk like that).

There are times where it doesn't feel like your playing MGS because you're dropped into several warzones for the first few chapters, but there are some pretty cool ways you can sneak around, like dressing up as on of the rebels. What's cool is that you can either continue on with your mission and let them fight it out, or you can join in and help the rebels win their battles. You can even exchange Rations and items with soldiers, so eventually they start seeing you as an ally and treat you as a friend.

There's also tons of glorious callbacks and references to past Metal Gears, especially MGS1, you even reenact Snake's infiltration of Shadow Moses at the start of a mission. Then there's a the part where you get a call from Otacon, who tells you it's time to change over to Disk 2, only to realize that they're on a PS3 now, so you have no need to change disks. It's the little things that makes this a great series.

^^I hope the warzone stuff comes back for 5. Maybe not on such a large scale, but being more sandboxish maybe you could find some groups fighting, and whoever you decide to help could be recruited?

    Anyway, finished a few.

Deadly Premonition. A replay but this time it was the PS3 version. Was interesting to note the differences, both major and minor. Not a huge fan of the new controls even with a free camera. Tank controls just worked much better. Extra cutscenes were nice, though the dialogue during the credits was a bit too hokey. Overall though loved it as much as my first time through.

Dust: An Elysian Tail was decent. Kinda too short for me, and there just weren't enough upgrades or combos. Still a fun casualish experience. Story was a bit original and kept me interested, though took itself too seriously. Not that I mind furries but that and the tone just don't really fit together well.

Next will probably be FF9 or Chulip.

I finally beat my first Phantasy Star game and that is Phantasy Star IV. I like the 1st one and the 4th one, the other two were alright I guess. Anyways, I enjoyed the story that Phantasy Star provided and the soundtrack to the game is really good. It was quite a trial getting through the game with all those random encounters around and characters getting killed and the only way I know how to revive them is using a revive spell. I might have to play this again, but before that, I need to play and beat the first Phantasy Star.

Finished AC Black flag, i picked it up cheap, i actually enjoyed it alot more than i thought i would..

Splinter cell black list i also picked up real cheap along with black flag, cost 10 bucks, it was alright, way too short and i hated Sams new voice actor, why they ever got rid of Ironside i do not know, as near surprising as getting rid of David Hayter as snake, atleast he was replaced with someone fitting, Sams voice is way too young for Sams actual age..

Also finished the New Super Mario bros, kinda took my time with this one and only really played it in short bursts, the last 2 levels were a bitch i have to say, lost alota lives on them

Resident evil zero, whizzed through this, it wasn't as good as i was hoping it to be, i didnt like the villain at all really..

And also Deus ex HR, honestly i dont get peoples praise for this game, it was only alright..

Prob gonna chip away at Xenoblade chronicles again now, i wasnt happy with using the wiimote/nunchuck for the time id be throwing into this game so invested in a Gamecube controller adaptor which i have now, so i get to play on probably the best controller design ever

Last game I finished was Metro 2033, great game. Very good. I gave it Vodka/10

I finished AC4 Black Flag before this one
It's the 2nd best AC game imo, 3 was garbage and Brotherhood was just expansion of 2 but still just wasn't as good as 2. 2 still wins and I want to play it again haha.

Yeah i never got stuck into Ac2, i didnt like the character enough, plus i was into my PC gaming then and ive heard nothing but complaints with the other ones and i hated the modern age/animus twist to the games, it just sucks, they should just set the story in the time and leave it at that, the whole loading history through DNA to record it is just retarded. Black flag had very little of it which is why i took to it i think, plus Pirates..Cant go wrong with pirates..

Unity seems like a cool concept with the co oping, but no way im picking up a PS4 just for one game, getting a PS4/xbox1 at this stage is stupid. Might just save up for a new PC rig..

Type-0, not the best Final Fantasy I played, not even in my top five, but it is certainly an improvement over Final Fantasy XIII, and it's PsP counterpart, Crisis Core. Anyways, here's my in depth analysis, I probably forgot to add a thing or two, doesn't matter...

    *Good*

Type-0 is by far the grittiest Final Fantasy out there. While nothing over the top Type-0 is not afraid to show just how dark the war can truly be, there is a considerable amount of blood and bodies, nothing new as far as series goes, though certainly unusual as Type-0 takes it to another level, even dialogue can be downright depressing. Up to the last chapter the story is simply amazing, it's a brilliant war piece leading to what I assumed to be something even greater, sadly I was wrong on the last part. The overall conflict is exciting and full of memorable moments, Celesta summoning Alexander for instance or Bahamut and Odin fighting swarm of dragons.

There's huge amount of characters for you to choose from, 14 to be more precise. Each character has unique abilities, and behaves more or less differently during combat. In other words you have quite a choice when it comes to assembling your ideal team. I had Ace (fast, great with offensive magic, mostly Ice magic, attacks from distance), Queen (healer, prefers close encounters, equiped with thunder magic) and Nine (powerhouse, a dragoon, equiped with fire magic), a well rounded team if I may say so. Personality wise, well, it's really up to you how well you get to know each character as you do that either by simple conversation or by unlocking cutscenes during your free, yet limited time in between story missions.

There are tons of NPC's for you to talk to, NPC's at Magic Academy have always something new to say after each story mission. When it comes to major NPC's I feel Kurasame along with his pet Tonberry stands out the most, Qator as well. Naruto fans will soon notice resemblance between Kurasame and Kakashi.

The four nations of Orience, lore in general, are well established, the sheer difference among them is intriquing to say the least and makes you wanna uncover and learn as much as possible.

Type-0 features quite a few eidolons, it would be the biggest number in the entire series if most of them were not a slightly different version of same eidolon. Nevertheless, even same types of eidolon have different pros and cons. Eidolons are often devastating, crucial during some boss battles, most importantly fun and easy to use as you control them same as your characters. The cost of summoning an eidolon is highest in the series so far as you lose whoever summoned it for the rest of the mission. Eidolons can be upgraded same as your characters. Magic can be upgraded as well by collecting phantoma, and is extremly useful. I found myself using Blizzaga BOM most of the time.

There's a huge map to explore and quite a few secrets to unravel. Aside from that, Type-0 has its fair share of sidequests, or requests and side missions in this case. As with every Final Fantasy there are number of allusions, references to previous games. My favorite by far is battle with Gilgamesh on a no less than a bridge while "Clash on the Big Bridge" is played in the background. Crimson Codex is extremly useful as it contains important story bits, information on all characters and monsters you've encountered, including every cutscene you have unlocked. Type-0 looks gorgeous, even more so considering it's a portable game. Every now and then you get impressed by simple details like Bahamut rushing down on a Magitek Armor while you run towards your goal.

    *Mixed Feelings*

It's true, I was thrilled with the music at first, though in all honesty there are not that many memorable pieces I'm afraid. Strategic part of Type-0 is fun but way too simple, it does get somewhat challenging in some of the later side mission. If I'm not mistaken breeding Chocobos is the only mini game there is, if it can in fact be called a mini game. It's a lot simpler than the one in Final Fantasy VII, though there are a lot of breeds and each breed has its own specialty. While there are many towns to liberate and visit there's not much diversity between them, save for the layout.

    *Bad*

While there is indeed a huge map to explore Type-0 is pretty much forcing you not to do so, either by placing palings on locations you want to go to or making sure you'll never make it out alive by having monsters absurdly above your level. And by "absurdly above your level" I mean, even after beating the game the difference in levels is still extremly huge. This wouldn't be a major problem if gaining levels after level 40 or so wasn't as tiresome and time consuming. Besting high level monstrosities such as Behemoth and Iron Giant rewards you with laughable amount of expirience and loot, in fact beating down mob of defensless woodling creatures often proves to be more useful. You can always repeat missions to gain extra expirience but that's equally efficient, if not less, and soon becomes rather dull.

The last chapter in Type-0 feelt so suden, so rushed, and in all honesty so disappointing. The main villain and his motives are as shallow as it gets. Reaching him is singlehandedly the most irritating thing since the last level in Deadpool. Worst thing though, the entire battle against Arbiter is more or less scripted, you can't loose even if you want to. One of the laziest final boss battles I have ever expirienced. Don't get me started on the very end, usually you get some kind of closure but with Type-0 your reaction is all "this is it!?". From what I read there's another ending, the bad one, have to check that out.

Type-0 focuses way too much on two particular characters, who by the way I found to be annoying, that are technically not even main characters. During the main story there's a twist that's supposed to shock you, which is fine by me if it wasn't as obvious, a blind man could see it miles away.

Requests are pretty simple and straightforward at first, that soon changes though. Level required to do these increases drasticaly in a matter of a mere chapter, so much so it's near impossible to do half of them. It doesn't help either that they vanish for good if you don't solve them by the time the next story mission begins. Side missions are perhaps even worse, forget the first few, no way you're gonna reach that level at that point.

Type-0 has a huge replay value, in fact I'm playing it again at this very moment, which would be awesome if it wasn't for the fact that is taking way too much from the first playthrough to add to that replay value. Good part of exploration is meant to be done on the second playthrough seeing as you carry over everything, including levels into a new game + where you'll finally be able to do those ridicilous requests and side missions, thus beef your characters even more and be able to take down those nasty monsters. It's not all that bad, second playthrough offers some additional content like exclusive cutscenes and approaching certain missions in different manner.

To add a few things to my last post. After reading more into Type-0 on FF Wiki and various sites you get to appreciate the main villain and his motives a lot more, even certain bits and pieces of story that were initially unclear to me, the thing is, even with additional details and cutscenes unlocked good part of it is not shown in actual game, which is kinda weird.

Good deal of items and requests can only be obtained/done if you have access to multiplayer, which sucks, though to be honest through entire game multiplayer is never really forced upon you nor is it crucial to do things that really matter. Multiple playthrough are still surprisingly not sufficient to achieve and obtain everything this game offers, for instance if you want ultimate weapons for your characters they can only be obtained near the end of your third playthrough and onwards, there's no feasible way to do so any earlier after which you ask yourself what's the point.

So I had a party at my place last week where I had several ppl pester me throughout the night to see my PS4 that I had hidden away. Long story short, I ended up playing P.T. with an audience that screamed/swore my ear off during my first playthrough in which case I had to take a break cause I couldnt stop laughing xD It felt so much like the old school games where you would spend not only hours, but days stuck in an area. But when you finally figured it out, it was soo satisfying. I reached the end with a bit of unwanted help (everyone wanted to see it thru to the end b4 leaving) otherwise I would still be getting laughed at by that cute sink-baby while trying to get that damn phone to ring. But geez that moment when I turned the corner and saw her, my heart skipped a beat..or 6. And the eyes(just like my avatar), one of my favourite parts in the demo. The realism just added tremendously to the scare factor. My only regret is that I wasn't alone to experience it.

Even though it technically isn't a game, P.T. is definitely one of the best experiences I've had on the PlayStation 4 this year. This demo alone is more emotionally impacting than any next-gen game so far.

Speaks volumes about what to expect from the final product.

Tales of Symphonia HD. The story reminds me a bit of Xenogears with the resurrection of the goddess, the false church organization which is also linked to Desians (Gebler), and trying to create a single race (lambs of god). The characters were enjoyable and they had their funny moments, but like Tales of the Abyss which was a more serious game, it is not as funny as Legendia, Graces F, and Xillia in that order.

I finished playing The Last Of Us. It was fantastic, and the ending was absolutely poetic and beautiful. The gameplay and story were both excellent, and Ellie is one of the best game characters I've ever seen. Also, that rapist dude was a ****.

I also played and finished The Last Of Us: Left Behind DLC. It was short, and there wasn't that much to the story, but for what it was, it was nice.
