Zelda passes for an RPG these days?

Yeah, I'm findint it strange as well that some people believe Zelda games are RPGs, they're action-adventure games. I am even more perplexed as to how somebody could think that Metal Gear Solid is a RPG. I'm thinking some people may need to brush up on what an RPG; I think they may be getting confused with that, they, the player, takes the role of the character. Yes, the player takes the role of Link or Snake but that is not a RPG. When I play a baseball game, I take the role of whomever I'm in control of at the time, but that doesn't make it a RPG.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant

The Legend of Dragoon

Dragon Quest V

Dragon Quest VIII

Suikoden series

Breath of Fire

Persona 4 (haven't beaten it though)
