Not including FF (because FFVIII would top my list everytime), I would say Earthbound for the SNES. It's a good break from your typical J-RPG, and has a really good story, and a memorable final boss.

um, FFIX would be high on my list since that was one of the first and most fun RPG's I've ever played and no matter how many times I replay t's just as fun.

Grandia II is in the list because it's just a great game all around, Ryudo is one of my favorite main characters and the music is legit.

I have to think about the rest, tons of RPG's to choose from aside from the obvious. I'll edit them in once I decide.

I've found enjoyment out of nearly all the FF games that I've played over the years, so I don't think that I'll have to list them all out.

I feel like a broken record, but some of my most favorite RPGs are from the SNES era. Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars was my first RPG that I really got into. I don't think it's the first one I played though. I think Earthbound was the first, and while that game was really, REALLY good, it didn't captivate me like SMRPG:TLOTSS did. At least not until much later, when I fully appreciated it's quirky humor, and was actually good enough at the game to get through it.

Mother 3 (GBA game) is great as well, although I think that it has a more dark tone to the overall story than what Earthbound had, but that's not a bad thing in the slightest.

I think that's really it. *shrugs* I tend to just stick to a franchise and not really deviate away from it too much, which is probably why I haven't played a whole lot of other RPGs.

I used to like playing Oblivion till I found out what efficient leveling is and that is a pain in the ass and kinda made me not like Oblivion.

My favourite RPG is a toss up between Knights of the Old Republic and Morrowind. I've clocked weeks of gameplay time into those two.

Zelda passes for an RPG these days?

Yeah, I'm findint it strange as well that some people believe Zelda games are RPGs, they're action-adventure games. I am even more perplexed as to how somebody could think that Metal Gear Solid is a RPG. I'm thinking some people may need to brush up on what an RPG; I think they may be getting confused with that, they, the player, takes the role of the character. Yes, the player takes the role of Link or Snake but that is not a RPG. When I play a baseball game, I take the role of whomever I'm in control of at the time, but that doesn't make it a RPG.

I've enjoyed every RPG I've played. I won't give you a list of every single RPG I've played, but here's my favourites (in no particular order):

~ FFVII (my first RPG x3).
~ FFI (...the PSP remake ._.).
~ Dark Cloud.
~ Oblivion.
~ Fallout 3.
~ Dragon Age.

There are loads more... and pretty much all the other Final Fantasy games I've played. I can't exactly call FFXIII a favourite yet though, because 1) It's just come out, and 2) I've not finished it yet. But I'm loving it. <3

Well, other than the FF games, I have to say I really like the .Hack series. I think the storyline is really engaging and interesting and I am quite hooked lately xD Other than that, I like Star Ocean: Till The End of Time, all of the Zelda games and I don't mind Dark Chronicle. There are many more but I can't think very well at this moment in time since I'm watching a movie whilst typing this.
