I'm going to wait for more details before I give any hype.
It's been confirmed, I can now die happy. I was checking out UESP to remind myself of an item location in Morrowind the other day when I happened to notice one of the recent updates, that ESO was confirmed on May 3rd. It's being developed by Zenimax Online Studios. Couple of screenshots.
And an interview
Anyone else as excited about this as I am?
For Our Lord Sheogorath, without Whom all Thought would be linear and all Feeling would be fleeting. Blessed are the Madmen, for they hold the keys to secret knowledge. Blessed are the Phobic, always wary of that which would do them harm. Blessed are the Obsessed, for their courses are clear. Blessed are the Addicts, may they quench the thirst that never ebbs. Blessed are the Murderous, for they have found beauty in the grotesque. Blessed are the Firelovers, for their hearts are always warm. Blessed are the Artists, for in their hands the impossible is made real. Blessed are the Musicians, for in their ears they hear the music of the soul. Blessed are the Sleepless, as they bask in wakeful dreaming. Blessed are the Paranoid, ever-watchful for our enemies. Blessed are the Visionaries, for their eyes see what might be. Blessed are the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger. Blessed is the Madgod, who tricks us when we are foolish, punishes us when we are wrong, tortures us when we are unmindful, and loves us in our imperfection.
I'm going to wait for more details before I give any hype.
My only "complaint" thus far is how bright and cheery everything looks. That is so very not the Elder Scrolls style, and it concerns me how WoW-like it is.

Dunn if I'd call either of those shots I posted cheery, they look pretty much like Cyrodil in day time. Also, according to what I've read this one isn't taking place in just one country, but across all of Tamriel. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a high detail Morrowind, or Hammerfell, places I'm used to seeing in outdated graphics.

There are a few more shots online and it just looks a bit too colorful.
This may not necessarily be a bad thing, but the color could really be toned down a little bit to truly fit the feel of the Elder Scrolls games. I'm not saying "more brown! Brown makes it real!" but that really doesn't seem like their style. Of course, these are alpha stage screenshots, so there is always a lot of room for alteration later.
I'm really curious to see how the combat is, because if the collision physics blow as bad as they do in the rest of the series, it's going to look funky as hell when you're doing PVP and claiming mad hax because all of your shit is getting evaded.
TES: Online with Tera-level combat would be glorious.
I'm buying it regardless of what it looks like or how it plays though... the lore alone will be enough for me.

Same thing with the SWTOR feel, had this cartoony look. Warcraft always had it since Warcraft 3.
Since like 2008 or 2009 something like that. I've just been waiting for them to say the words. My friend texted me, I was not surprised at all. But hey, I'll try it out. If they do end up making it have the normal Elder Scrolls feel or forever change it.
I honestly think they need to just make it have a limited amount of people joining a game. Almost like Diablo 2 and such but more modernized. But we will see.

In all fairness, graphics in an MMO game are never as good as they would be in a single player. As for the traditional ES bugs, I'm not expecting to see them, because its not Bethesda making this one. In the interview the guy says he's more concerned with making a good mmo than sticking 100% to the way previous ES games have played, so I'm willing to bet none of the things that would be a problem with making say, Skyrim exactly as it is online would actually be an issue in this game, because the mechanics will be reworked to play like a good MMO.

Y'know, I love me some Elder Scrolls games-they're one of my favorite franchises-but I don't care for MMO's. Never been interested in the concept. If any game would've put me over, it might've been WoW, but that failed to pull me in. I'm just a loner like that. Maybe some friends can talk me into it, although most of them don't play ES games... Anyhoo...
Wuv, Yer Mom
When it was announced, I was looking foward to it. I was hoping for it to play like the Elder Scrolls games. When I saw those images...meh.
I have never been a huge fan of MMOs. I mean, hell, I have literally only just started WoW. Those screenshots look so much like WoW.
However, I am going to reserve judgement until more details are released.
To be honest I'm not a huge fan of MMOs outside of PvP.
Grinding is just not fun at all. And having to use a lot of quests that don't deal with the story makes you lose sight of the plot fairly quick. Plus if you want to see the bigger parts of the plot you have to dedicate time to get good gear for PvE.
Honestly I don't see PvP being a huge part in this game if it's even in it at all. It definitely has peaked my interest as TES is one of my favorite series, but do I see myself paying monthly to play this game so far? I doubt it.
That's why I'm waiting for more details.

The interview linked in the OP mentions pvp. Apparently it's going to be mainly in form of a war between three factions, the Daggerfall Covenant, the Ebonheart Pact, and the Aldmeri Dominion. Of course I'm sure they'll include the standard challenge somebody and bash their face in type pvp as well.
