So, I am considering purchasing Dead Island but wanted to ask what everyone thinks of it, is it really worth getting? I really enjoy games with a good storyline (RPG like) that also have action aspects, so I suppose I am asking if this game has enough dialog and story for my taste or is it all zombie killing no story? Reviews are welcome. thank you.

I just finished watching a Video Games Awesome playthrough of the game, and it seems to me like it's mostly just doing a lot of side quests, with the exposition of whatever character you pick dumped on you at the character selection screen...and that's as far as characterization goes. Still, it seems pretty enjoyable if you wanna go around bashing some zombie skulls on a tropical resort, but the "story" element seems fairly standard.
As for dialogue, it also seems pretty tied into whatever mission you're setting out to do. Of course, the VGA guys only played like the first few hours of the game, but that's the initial impression I got.

I suggest you avoid downloading it from steam as that version has some serious issues, even the latest patch failed to fix it quite right, I've heard it made things even worse. Players all around the world report weird glitches and bugs, which may explain why it wasn't received well by players. I say wait a little bit until it gets patched properly.

I have been playing Dead Island for the past couple of days now. It is an excellent game. I enjoy everything about it. Sam B is my Boyyy
I haven't played it personally, but from what I've seen (walkthroughs) the co-op parts seem to be the most fun. I would get it.
I want this game, but my main concern is that it will be too much like Left 4 Dead or L4D2. Is it very similar? Because if so i will save my money and just keep playing those. So are they different enough?

Dead Island looks like a lot of fun. I've been watching Simon and Lewis of The Yogscast/Bluexephos playing it on Youtube. My brother bought it too, and loves it more than the Left 4 Dead games.
I probably won't get it now. I'm just a little bitter because I set aside a Special Edition for myself at work, and someone put it back out to be sold on the shop floor. So... I won't get my discount unless I go the long way and buy online, return it instore, and re-purchase it (and the site doesn't even have it in-stock any more, and my discount isn't 25% any more on mint software). =/

Yeah guys promo is seen to be kill the man eaters where these evils lived and completely finish him for the survival of humans other wise they will take your blood.
