Is it better to keep games in their original cases?

I started going through the games in my CD case and notice that my Final Fantasy Tactics game has some weird mark on the top edge of the CD which pissed me off, haven't check to see if it works perfectly yet.

I'm almost to that point to where I might just put all of them back into their original cases and just throw the case away.

Opinions?

Do you keep your games in the original case or a cd case?

I have had very bad experiences with CD cases. They always end up f*cking up my games. But I have had worse experience with game cases. One of my game cases was made weird and chipped the inside of my disc all to hell.

I would still go with the original case.

Yeah I'm starting to move them to their cases, I just hate it when a game with 3 discs don't come with separate parts and their all piled on top of each other...

i'd go with the original cases.
However for games that have more than one disc. DVD type cases with more than one spot to hold CDs are really cheap. Just move your cover and manuals into the new case. And your good to go.

Origional, I think the book-like cases are best if you change locations alot. Like kids with devorced parents, or people that play at friends houses alot.

I keep games like final fantasy in the cases, because there is really no reason for them to leave the house. However Little Big Planet sometimes find its way into my travel case, which usually has a couple of games, a few movies, maybe a couple of cds.

Original cases always orignal cases, im just a neat freak like that. I never usually get any problems with them except when you buy a game and its missing one of the tab things that hold the disc in place

I never had any issues pop up from keeping games in their original cases, so that's where I keep my games when I'm not playing them.

If I buy a game second-hand though, it's sort of depends on the condition of the case it's stored in whether I keep it in that or store it in a CD case... No lie, I had to settle on purchasing a couple of games that came in an envelope type of thing (no case, no manual... sad times... ). There's no way I'm keeping my games in something like that, so into the CD case they went!

I turned down a second hand FF9 because the case was damaged and there was no manual..... i'm still searching for its replacement

Anyways, its always a good idea to keep your games in their original cases if you can because they can easily get damaged or scratched if you leave them lying around. If the original case has junk in it or is broken, just find a replacement case. if its just slightly dented or have a worn label then you don't have anything to worry about.

It got to a stage with me when I didn't play PSOne games for a long time. The cases took up quite a bit of space, so I got rid of the original cases and started using dvd wallets. Most of the games are in the wallets now, and some are still in their cases around the place. I've not had any problems. For me, it just saved space to put them in a wallet case.

With my PS2 and Ps3 games, however, they're still in their cases. I ran out of wallets, and to be honest... I prefer having them in the original cases with the manuals and stuff. My PSOne games are scratched to shit and so not worth much anyway.

I always keep everything in the original cases. That's what the cases are there for. XD Makes it easier to see what I've got and, frankly, I like to display my collection, even if I'm the only one who sees it 90% of the time.

That and what happens if you lose/someone steals the CD wallet? Pretty much screwed...

What the sh*t, man? What case did it come in? if your case is chewing on your discs then there some crazy voodoo witchcraft going on. No joke.

On the other hand I did have a case once that made it impossible to remove my game disc. That resulted in much heartache over a scratched disc. It still works but the old PS1 cases are the bane of my existance. These new click-and-remove things work a treat for my sanity.

My FFXIII is like that. It's pretty stupid because I have other games with more than 1 disc that have a partition slot to put the extra disc/s on. Don't really get it but I'm no case-maker. I agree completely but I still keep mine in the case foor this reason:-

I'm pretty proud of my games collection. Openly so. I've spent a lot of money buying them, and a lot of time playing them. I like to see what I have even for my own sake. It's also cool when a friend comes round and looks. It's easier to find games and I prefer it. I honestly don't think I've even thought of putting them in a seperate case. If I need to take a game somewhere I pack it along with my HDD or Memory card. Most of the time I don't even need my game because my friend has his/ her own copy. Original cases are best if you ask me. The look pwetty too.
