AND YOU ARE NOT PLAYING WITH ME YET BECAUSE WHYYYYYYYY EXACTLY?
That's what I thought.
Again. And again. Forever, and ever, and ever.
Anyone playing it? The new one especially. I am expecting silence on all fronts, but it's always worth a shot.
It's sooooo much more convenient this time around. So happy.

Sadly I cannot play Animal Crossing New Leaf. I do not own a 3DS.
But I am still playing City Folk on the Wii. As you well know.

I like the animal crossing games, there are times when I don't play that long when there is not much going on in the game (the GameCube one suffered that). I read recently that Nintendo is open to the idea of a F2P animal crossing. Would you play a F2P animal crossing that has buyable extras if Nintendo went that route? I would as long as they give you plenty of features with the core game.

I certainly wouldn't. Philosophical choice: I'm not too keen on the idea of F2P. Especially considering how many extras there are in a game like Animal Crossing, I wouldn't feel too good playing AC when a good chunk of those extras are only obtainable via a virtual store shelf. I'd rather (re)play AC: City Folk or Wild World or something if it ever came to that.
YAY! You caught a currencyfish!

So I got the new animal crossing, joining the bandwagon. I have no idea how the playing friends thing online works but here's my 3DS friend code 4425-1487-8051.
Currently Playing:
It's currently $27 on Amazon!
It plays online about the same as other games. There's only one friend code to a system, but each friends needs to add the other's friend code for online play. All that's left is to open up the gate at the train station and have the other enter their town from the same place. Once you've registered each other as best friend's in-game, you can freely send messages to eachother in-game regardless of whether or not your gate is open. It's convenient once you get the ball rolling.

I regret placing my campsite by my town hall. I can't demolish it and put it elsewhere, so I can't put a fountain down nearby without it looking weird. Oh well. I'll have to demolish the fountain tomorrow and look for another place to put it.

Liking this game a lot. Lots of work, but way more in-depth customization than the predecessors. It's the small things, you know?
When I get the QR code capability, I will be posting some of the designs I use.

...I can't get into it. ^^;
I only bought it because everyone at work were playing it, and then the boyfriend bought it, so I thought what the hell. Everyone seems to really love it, pretty much every StreetPass hit I've had has been playing Animal Crossing, and it looks cute. I can just tell it'll be a game I'll get frustrated by as I don't have a whole lot of patience, and I don't want to manipulate the clock to speed things up (feels like cheating...).
Might try to give it another go this week. My friend code is in that add thread (I think), but you can also ask me for it.
Most people say take it slow... but don't. Just charge in headlong, exploit your bf for his furniture and island (easy money), build yourself a themed room, and generally have a fun time doing absolutely nothing. If you have a "goal", you'll find your groove eventually.
Or you won't. lol

Collect stuff, decorate stuff, make pretend currency and have fun doing it.
My goals are a Castlevania-themed basement, a Mega Man-themed room of some sort, maybe a Final Fantasy-themed room somewhere, and a true-to-life upstairs. As SOLDIER #819 can attest, I have the most bitchin' polka-dot couch this side of the Mississippi.
This game has so much more to offer than previous games, too. Now it's much more rewarding to "sculpt" a perfect town with public works projects and the like. It's fun!

I've been wanting to play Animal Crossing just so I can send messages randomly to my friend with messages like **** you or even worst words. Just for fun tho.

EDIT: On second thought I might order fifty of them to place in my house before I invite you over. That would be the villainous thing to do.

Oh, internet. This is why I love the internet.
I've got my house all paid off finally. Working on sculpting the perfect town with trees, bushes, paths, etc. Quite a lot of work! But it gives me something to do. Anyone else still playing?
