Well I would try to get as much as I can on my first playthrough but the extremely long and straining sidequests, I avoid those till my second then i go nuts. I get all their limit breaks, all their weapons, and get them and their GFs to the highest level, get all the cards, and do all the side quests. =)

I like to play games as thoroughly as possible my first time through, like Rocky does, but I'm not one too come back again just to get the little things that I missed the first time. The first time, I'm totally curious. I'll do everything I can, check out all the nooks and crannies of the towns and maps, and fiddle around with what I can to see what I like best. But after going through something as much as I possible can, I don't have the spirit to go it again. The first time I ever play a game is probably going to be the best play I'll ever have. After I've beaten it, I'll go back on the same file and see what I can do, but any full play-through after that will just be to refresh my memory of the story and stuff.

I started a game a few days ago called two worlds and it does not require to much game to beat the main quest line but dispite this I played for a little over 70 hours so I could get every weapon every achievment and max out my level...

Sitting here waiting for Rocky, and Che to notice me!!

I'd say I'm firmly in the middle as far as completionism goes. I will do sidequests more casual players will probably blow off as being too annoying or tedious, but I won't go out of my way to do absolutely everything either. It really depends on the game though. I have never done chocobo breeding in VII but I did all the chocobo sidequests in IX, for example.

I will generally go out of my way for things like weapons and summons, though. It's mainly the optional things that don't add much to the game or end up being complete overkill that I don't really put any effort in. Excalibur II, KotR. Stuff like that.
