Legendary FF titles you haven't played.

I have never played any of the titles people seem to hold as the best of series, FF7-9. However, I don't think there's much I don't know about FFVII, being that it has to be the most popular game in the series and the most talked about, I have a decent idea of what happens in that game. FFVIII and FFIX I only have small knowledge about.

I have also missed out on FF3, and I don't bother with the online games.

Final Fantasy XIII, as far as main series goes. I doubt I'll play it anytime soon as I don't own PS3, or XBox 360 for that matter, not that I would if I did as I don't find it appealing at all.

As for spin offs, Tactics Advance 2, Revenant Wings, Mystic Quest...I think that's about it, don't think anyone would blame me if I never play them which is exactly what I'll do.

I've never played FF XIII or the online games. I won't be playing the online games anytime in the foreseeable future because I just don't have time to play online games, and I won't be playing FF XIII either until I get a PS3, which doesn't look like it'll be anytime soon. I've played the rest of the main series, but I still need to complete some of them, so that should hold me off if I feel the need to play Final Fantasy.

I've never played FFII, FFX or the online games, as far as the main series is concerned (sequels and spin-offs not included). Also, I've played but never completed FFI or VIII, though I did get far in VIII, up to the point where you gain control of the Ragnarok.

If we are to include sequels and spin-offs, I haven't played ANY of them, except for The After Years. Well, I did try Tactics a long time ago, but after a short time of playing it, I didn't like it at all.

By the way, you have to play FFIX. You'll love it. Well, more than likely you will, anyway.

I've only ever played halfway through the first disc of FFVIII. It's not that I didn't enjoy it; rather, I started it when I was in the midst of moving and never really got around to picking it back up. It's the one that I never played at a handy time... I should start it up again.

I have played through and beaten all others at least once over, except for FFXIII - I am a little over halfway through that one. I suppose that leaves two unbeaten, but zero unplayed.

I haven't played the first Final Fantasy, and since it's the one that started it all, I suppose it's the most legendary game in the series.

I also haven't played FF Tactics. I tried to play Tactics Advance, but just couldn't really get into it. I might give it another go, but I still would like to play Tactics. Maybe I'll pick up War of the Lions sometime. It should be down in price, since it's been out for a while.

I've pretty much played them all. Except FFXIV but my comp can't run it. I am glad to have played the most epic Final Fantasy and that is XI, but I only got to lvl25.

The only FF games I have played are FFVIII through to XII and Tactics Advanced (excluding FFXI as not keen on online pay to play). Not having a PS3/X-Box means I can't download the previous FF games, or play XIII.

This is like the exact same boat that I'm in in terms of XIII and the online games. I would love to play them all but I never have the time or money to devote to my gaming habit. I've been told XIII is great and all, but I get really busy when school starts back up... I'm cramming as much as I can into the summer now, beating the early ones that I had never finished. I still have never started a file on V or VI. I haven't heard much about V but heard that VI is pretty amazing. I guess I'll get to the newest games when they have FFXVIII out...

I haven't played a lot of titles, actually. Final Fantasy series on PS One that I've played so far are FFI and FFII only. Although I have FFVIII, somehow the first disc doesn't work and I'm the way too lazy to use the emulator so until now I'm just hanging it and the rest three discs to dry.

If you can call them "legendary", I have never played III, XI, XIII and XIV.

III, I've never had the desire to play - even though it was rereleased - because from what I heard it was similar to the original Final Fantasy, but worse. I loved the original FF, but have no desire to play something that was similar but inferior. It's why I've never played Dirge of Cerberus; many people and reviewers said it was just a poor man's Devil May Cry. As for XIII, I've heard nothing but bad things about it both from members here and a lot of long term fans I know. In fact, I had it in my 360 collection for almost a year and never played it. I will eventually. I liked XII, so there's no reason why I shouldn't like XIII with them having similar battle systems.

As far as spinoffs, sequels and prequels go, I haven't played Tactics Advance 2, War Of The Lions, Dirge of Cerberus, Before Crisis, The After Years, Mystic Quest or any of the Crystallis games - if any of the others apart from XIII have even been released... I haven't been keeping up.

Even if you think you know everything about FF7 (and I am not saying you don't) you should still play it. Firstly as you said it is a highly regarded game (and rightly so in my opinion it was my first PS game and the first game I completed on my PS and I loved every minute of it I have probably been through it almost a dozen times!) this in itself should be enough to convince you but here a few more reasons you should consider playing it. 1) Great soundtrack/graphics (not so great graphics by todays standards but at the time they were ****in mint). 2) The story is good, complicated to understand but still it keeps you guessing until you are a great deal into the game. 3) The Battle/Materia system allows you to make your charcters and party members develop in the way you want them to (granted some members are better in specific roles but you are in control on who does what regardless of this). 4) Plenty of fun ( and sometimes slightly tedious and time-consuming but worth the effort) Side-Quests. 5) You MAY but not DEFINITELY learn something you didn't know through doing the game and the many Side-Quests there are to complete. In the end it is your personal decision but to sum up the game is 'Epic' and if you don't play it you will have missed out on (this is my 3rd favourite of the series so far ver closely behind FF10 and FF13) one of the best FF games ever made. TRUST ME IT WON'T DISAPPOINT!!!

I haven't played... XIV, nor have I played Tactics A2, Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time, oh and FFIV: The After Years (probably should D/L that from WiiWare eventually). I've been working on a FF collection and somehow obtaining all the main FFs (except the online ones which I won't count). I seem to have gotten hooked on FF at a good time too.

I've played all the main series but never completed IX

I borrowed it once, and played it but wasn't that keen.
Then I bought it, but moved house, and never got into it again.
I started playing it with the intention to beat it including Ozma & Hades, but I had a dodgy second disc, and it kept freezing at a stage in the Iifa Tree, and I can't progress any further

Unfortunately I have never beaten any final fantasy mainly because I've never owned a copy myself but borrowed them from friends, but as of right now I'm a good way through each one but 3 and 12 now that I have a copy of each for myself. So I guess really all of them, but I'm just going to go with 3 and 12.

I haven't played VII or before. Final Fantasy was created in 1987, before I was born. I didn't start playing it until after 1999 or right around the time when FFVIII came out. My parents didn't know I liked it so they didn't buy it for me. I ended up getting FFX and the titles afterwards myself. I am playing IX only because a friend mailed it to me. I haven't played XI because it's online.

I have enjoyed the ones I've played though. Moreso than any other video game.

For rhh3713. 3 and 12? Play 7 and 10 seriously. 12 is okay but 10 followed by 7 are without contest the 2 best you HAVE to do these please just believe me. Until you have done these you are seriously missing out.

I think you misread my post a bit, I was saying 3 and 12 in response to the question of which ones I haven't played yet. 10 is actually the one I've played the most of, the only reason I never beat it is because my save vanished while I was in the Zanarkand Ruins.

Sorry rhh3713 my mistake. In any case I can see why you have not played X again losing a save at that point is a bit of a wounder. But you should definitely try it again as you have only touched the tip of the iceberg of this game there is so much more you can do after Zanarkand, also ther is a large revelation that is revealed in Zanarkand which gives you a real incentive to continue as well as some back story. Also you should play 7 it comes a VERY close second as my favourite of the series (X is my personal fave) and you should enjoy that one too.

I've only briefly played I on an emulator, parts of II and nothing of III. I've beaten IV-IX, and got up to the final areas of X and XII, but didn't really care enough to finish them. I don't care to play XIII because it seems very meh, and I refuse to play any of those add on games, like X-2, VII-28.3 and whatnot. Also, I didn't bother playing the online ones.

I also played some of those old gameboy games, like Legends and that other one. Sadly, I've also played Crystal Chronicles, which was just god awful.

I've never played FFIII, FFXI (But should that even count?) or FFXIII-2 (Once again, should it even count?) but aside from that, I think that's it. Through emulators, old copies of games I manage to find and newer game on other friends consols, I've played almost all of them.

(But with the exception of FFIII, I don't intend to get into any of the games I haven't played. Most of them are either Add-ons to a game in the series or MMO's which I am fond of but don't want to have to pay for one. So that's that. )
