Dissidia Tag Team/Co-Op Guys?

I think this would be a pretty cool way to go cause i play Dissidia a lot with a budy of mine in versus but it would've been good to do the story together.
Most of the people are already in groups anyway so it wouldn't be that hard to accomplish.

The idea sounds good but how would it work mechanically? Would you take turns fighting the manikins or would you both do your separate paths and then meet up at the end like when say Zidane and Bartz were racing in the first one and they say lets split up?

I would imagine it would be with Zidane and Bartz at first and when they split you would both play as the person who's storyline you selected e.g. both as Zidane

Funny that you brought up this topic because I was doing my looking to see if any news on other characters for Duodecim had been announced and I came across this picture:



To me that looks like either a Tag-Team fight or like when in the Marvel games how you can switch between two characters and when you switch they do an attack. But there are 4 people on the screen that seem to be involved in two separate fights.

^ That picture kind of confuses me a bit, Xithor. I wanna say that's a screenshot of the Assist System in action, but apparently it's a fight between Terra and Cloud. I can't imagine Kefka coming to aid Terra in a fight, and I really can't imagine Sephiroth doing the same for Cloud. Only conclusion I came up with was either Terra is on the "Chaos" side, and Seph hasn't become villainous yet... *shrugs* Still, it's an awesome shot.

Yea I totally agree with you Dodie, the pairings in this picture totally throw me for a loop. Sephiroth & Cloud then of all people Kefka & Terra. It is either a thing that they are working out or maybe they are just messing around with the idea of a tag-team fight or even special assist moves like you said Dodie where someone comes to your aid. Still very exciting to see.

Maybe Kefka is able to control Terra's powers like he did in the first when he turned her against Onion Knight.

I always thought you could choose your assists before a fight. That would probably explain that picture.

On the subject of tag teaming, I really only saw Dissidia as a 2 player game. Having 4 players play at once would just be waaaay too confusing in a battle. It works for side-scrollers like Super Smash Bros. or Super Street Fighter, but not for Dissidia, honestly. Though the idea of a tag team story mode sounds more interesting.
