Best final fantasy game

I don't think that FFX and FFX-2 should be in the same point. They are two completely different games, IMO. However, I clicked that point anyway, because I believe FFX is the best game so far [that I've played] overally.

The graphics and storyline I believe were the best of any Final Fantasy game, and I thought that the gameplay was excellent, too. And the battles weren't too easy or too hard. Perfect.

However, although my favourite ever game character [Seymour Guado] is in FFX, I think the best overall selection of characters was in FFVIII. There was such a good range of characters, and their personalities were all so vibrant.

Well I put VII as being my favourite, but sadly not as the best. XII is so far the best in my opinion, but there were so many story flaws I just couldn't bring myself to vote for it.

In my opinion, FFVI is the best final fantasy. It was the first game to introduce party member switching and the inclusion of two secret (but somewhat crappy) characters made the a worthy adventure. Plus it also added a more futuristic story than the other games in the series at the time.

well for me, i like ff8 and ff12. I like ff8 bacause of the story and the battle system which is called a jucntioning them according to your taste. I also like ff12 because of the unique battles system which makes more realistic than any other past games in the ff series...

I say that FFinal Fantasy XII was is the bast. Grest storyline, amazing battle system, genuinely likeable characters. Just beats VII in my opinion.

It just annoys me how so many people are such FF7 fanatics, and while I do admit that there are those out there that actually enjoy the storyline, characters, and symbolism, there are just as many people who only claim that they love that game because A) It's the first one they've ever played. B) The villain has an extremely large sword... which makes up for the shortness of.... -cough-. or C) Because they follow the crowd.

Myself though, my two favorites are 8 and 9. 8 because I love the sorceresses, they'se jsut awesome- and it's the most complex storyline out of them all, it REALLY takes some hard thinking to understand everything. and 9 because it's so cute, yet serious at the same time. I love the characters and their struggle, and Quina is in it!

For me it would have to be Finalfantsy VIII. First of all, squall just kicks ass, I love how he just wants to be left alone, he fends for himself. Second, this game has the best summoning ability of all the final fantasy series b/c without them, you really can't fight unless you have an ultimate weapon, which brings my third point. Squalls fiinal limit break just soars beyond any other....9,999 like 15 times....that pretty much just wipes out any enemy you come in contact with. So for me, FFVIII just beats any other.

IX is the best in my opinion. Why?

Characters: Zidane was an amazing lead. I had the gloomy, withdrawn "badass" types that run around with big swords. Zidane was just a normal, friendly, cheerful guy that people can actually relate to. Vivi was awesome. I've seen people say crap like how he's emo and depressed and stuff (not that you can blame him), but he keeps going and trying to beat it and make things better for himself and for his fellow black mages. Garnet was also a fantastic female lead who actually did a good bit of growing throughout the story.

Setting: it's an actually fantasy game, not cyberpunk or futuristic. When I think RPG, I think fantasy, not sci-fi. Unless it's in very small amounts, leave that to FPS games, I don't want it in my RPGs *glares at Xenosaga*

Kuja: Best. Villian. Ever. He makes for some gorgeous eye candy, plus he's extremely manipulative. I find a villain who can manipulate countries into war and manipulate souls to be much more interesting than the generic badass with an uber sword and anime haircut who goes around slicing and dicing.

Plus the game just has a certain charm to it that I love.
