    Taco your team did it!

It was a crazy game.. i hope you watched it. I was at a sports pub surrounded by Chargers fans (my buddy is from SD) and I was watching that game and the SF game at the same time... What a crazy ending.. i thought SD had it locked up and the Packers took it in the last 2 minutes and then CEMENTED it in..

    craziness..

It wasn't on TV where I am Just the San Fransisco/Pittsburgh game was on. I saw score updates and was like "YEAH!!" Heh.

How did the Packers score that last touchdown? I heard it was a running play, but how did they get the ball back down there so soon? I'm guessing the defense had something to do with it, obviously. Anyhoo...

...so, is the whole deal with the Wii that all these games involving normal human beings will now be cast with chibi creatures? Although that's another topic entirely.

Yay, the Beavers actually won a game! They beat the Arizona Wild Kitties 31-13! ...yay... if only they could keep this up. Anyhoo...

EDIT: Make that 31-16. Not that anyone cares.

My Oregon State Beavers helped that come to be by knocking off then #2 Cal 31-28. I was working, so I didn't get to see it until today (and then only half of it. Again, work.) I heard updates in the third and fourth quarter from people coming in to get gas and also from a cooworker. It gave an otherwise fairly shitty night at least one redeeming quality (busy all night, a handful of douchebag customers, a coworker who apparently gets very grumpy near closing, and locking my keys in the car with the car running. My cousin tried opening the door with a coathanger and broke the door.)

The Packers also won again. Barely. They shouldn't have lost to the Bears last weekend, though. That was pretty lame. My man Derek Anderson also had another awesome showing for the Browns, throwing for three touchdowns and running for one in their win... over the Dolphins. Yup. Anyhoo...

Go Red Sox! woohoo... i don't think the red sox are the loveable underdog they were when i was a fenway-attending red sox fan prior to the 2004 playoffs.. I think they have become the AL bully. The rockies look good.. so it should be a fun world series..

This is about the only place I can really post it, so I will:

Oregon State 38, Oregon 31. At Oregon. The first time we've won there since 1993.

Sure, they were without their potential Heizman Quarterback, and were in fact down to their 5th string quarterback... but we were without our starting quarterback, our starting running back, and our all-american wide receiver from a year ago. I don't know if we'd have won if they'd had Dixon (their starting QB) but that's part of the game. You have to play with what you've got. Anyhoo...

Double-posting, no one cares! Why buy a mattress anywhere else? (No one outside the sate of Oregon will get the reference, but oh well!)

I want to post here and say that I am really excited about the Oregon State Beavers' football season. They are two wins away from winning the Pac-10 and going to the Rose Bowl for the first time since... 1964, I believe. I was even at this Saturday's game, and let me tell you, my voice was gone afterwards. Even though I cut back the swearing to ass, hell, and crap, and I didn't even really heckle the other team or the refs much! (Key word: much.) That's a good day for me.

Two of the toughest games of the year are ahead, though, at Arizona and against Oregon. At Arizona will probably be tougher, but the Ducks always are ready to play in the Civil War. And last year, the Beavers broke the streak of the home team winning, so that's no longer as big a factor when factoring in past history.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun to be there. I haven't been to a game in two years, so it was fun to go back to Reser-particularly because they won. Kicked the Golden Bears' arses! The defense kicked Cal's quarterback's ass all day, hurrying him, knocking him down, and getting five sacks on him. By the end of the day, he was so flustered, he nearly threw three interceptions. Instead, he threw two (one of which was called back due to a false start on his team... and the second came on the play immediately afterwards.) There were some big hits on special teams as well. It's also pretty awesome that our 5' 7", 190 lb. freshman running back took one of their biggest defenders down, not once, but twice. Jacquizz Rodgers is awesome. So is his brother James. Anyhoo...

I don't think double posting counts when there's a year separating the two posts :-P

I was excited about the BYU vs. Utah rivalry game this saturday until I learned it won't be on national TV... argh... I don't live in Utah anymore, so I cannot watch it.. It was on TV last year..

A win for Utah means a BCS bowl.

Dagnabit! Oregon State barely lost to Utah earlier in the year. Lost at the last minute. We just kinda shut down, it seemed like; we scored our touchdown to put us ahead by 8, and then watched the Utes score their touchdown, convert their two point conversion, and get their field goal to win it. If we'd held on to win that game and the one at Stanford... it wouldn't be much different of a picture, probably, but we'd be ranked higher. Anyhoo...

The Utes have won quite a few games in the last few minutes now. Did you see the TCU game? That was nuts. I hope they destroy BYU.

Holy shit, what a finish! Oregon State won their game at the last second by a field goal, 19-17. What a fricken' game. I'm still shaking. Wow. Their hopes for the Rose Bowl are still alive; all that's left is the Civil War against Oregon next weekend.

Shit, when they went down by a touchdown early in the fourth, I actually got down on my knees and started praying. A little bit silly to be praying for something like that, but we haven't been there for 44 years, and seeing my team win is inspirational. Thank you God!(Seriously.)

Congratulations to the Utes for kicking BYU's ass, 48 to 24, btw. (Although that game was a bit close for a while, too.) And... Go Beavs!!

Hehe... so it looks like Oregon State to the Rose Bowl and Utah will probably be headed to the Sugar Bowl.

    Awesome.

Yeah. Worst friggen' game I ever saw. I kept on thinking they were gonna come back, because we'd only be down by like three touchdowns and then we'd score a touch down. So we'd be like "Okay, we just have to hold them now and get two more!" But then they'd get a big play and score every time... We just got outplayed. I'd like to say it was the refs or no Quizz or the two weeks they had in preparation over our one, but... it wasn't even close. Maybe this will be a wake up call for the players for next year, and they'll be ready and gunning for them or something.

I guess there's always the baseball season. I have no hopes for basketball this year, just like the past several years. Losing to the Ivy League schools and Montana State... ouch. Maybe I can root for the Trail Blazers; they're doing good. Anyhoo...
