Speaking of Chinatown.. i'm heading there later tonight! We're going to get some dinner there and then walk up to North Beach for some pub goodness.
Oh yeah I forgot about the Chinatown in LA.. =P it's smaller than the San Fran one though so =P
Well it's all "premade" since the tapioca needs to like sit in a vat of sugar water for like a while.. but after a while they get hard... lol so you kinda want it when it's "fresh" but iono how to tell... it's kinda... luck? lol. Yeah...

Damnit! We're special! I'm pretty sure we have that restaurant that was used in Rush Hour over there!Originally Posted by Keisuke Takahashi

Well K if you're going.. go Try some! lol
Well I didn't get some Bubble Tea in Chinatown last night... but we have a Quickly just off campus here that I pass nearly every day.
Apparently they are a HUGE chain of Bubble Tea stores, like Starbucks for Tapioca Drinks.. they have 2000 locations in the USA, Asia, Europe, Africa...
Oh.. i haven't heard of them. =T Though I know a lot of the bubble tea stations, use like Lolicup? I think that's what it's called, as a supplier for their "bubbles" and powders. So.. yeah..
Lolicup...>_> lmao.Originally Posted by Keisuke Takahashi

I wonder if there is one in my area.
Ah, here we go. There's one in Los Angeles. I just wish it was more local, like Korova's. I guess he wasn't kidding, they're spawning in that area...14 locations! Lucky.![]()

There should be. Maybe I should complain. Anyhoo...

lol. yeah the Asian Population out in CA is crazy, same with NY.. it's just different on the coasts.. ; ;
SF and NYC are unique because thats the traditional immigrant/gateway cities by boat to the USA. SF for (mostly) Asia and NYC for (mostly) Europe.
Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
(does not understand all this tea talk)
There's like 30 in the SF Area.. here's the one by me:

Panorama City is its own Little Mexico. Does that count for something? Haha. =| I'm sure a very large portion of the people living here are illegal immigrants. Not that I mind, except when everyone starts blasting music in the middle of the night and drink until they pass out. Before they do pass out, some people laugh like banshees for hours on end. Not a good thing to wake up to.Originally Posted by Korova

I need to get some green tea though. It'll give me something to drink when I'm not having water or milk. More bland drinks! YES!
Edit: We also have a Filipino community around here. It's cool how the scenery just dramatically changes. Unfortunately, no matter where you go around here, there is one thing that remains the same. On every other street corner, there is ALWAYS a McDonald's. I can't escape, they've taken over.

My friends actually suggested I try to replace soda with green tea at one point, btw. All I had was the hot tea packets, however, and the stuff I liked was like the lipton Iced green tea and the Sobe green tea, etc. It might've worked otherwise, though...

Probably not Taco since those are loaded with Sugar as well.. =P It'd pretty much be drinking the same thing, more or less. =T
I need to switch to something other than soda myself... haha
Damn that QUickly looks pretty nice. Here is one of the two bubble tea places we have in my area... I don't like this place though...
This should be renamed "We need action!.... And beverages!"
I strictly drink Luzianne (regular tea bags) non-flavored tea (w/sugar), water, milk, and Gatorade. My preference is fruit punch Gatorade. I've pretty much cut soda out entirely. Occasionally I'll have a soda, but not that often.
I hear ya.. I replaced soda pop recently with milk when i'm at home, and when i'm not: Gatorade... i try to buy cases of gatorade from Costco so they're cheaper.. hehe, i drink a lot of it.
i do still occasionally drink soda, but when i do its diet.
I have a mocha every morning though... i NEEEED it. never been a fan of tea...
edit: i do enjoy lipton iced tea.... when i'm at a soda fountain my preferences go: PowerAid/Gatorade, SoBE Lean, Sweetened Tea (flavored or otherwise), Fruit Punch, Lemonade, and then if none of those are present: diet cola.
edit: yes i drink "soda pop", thats what us mountain-west folk call it.
edit edit edit: Kaz, fruit punch gatorade is the best one i think. I do like the mango one too though.. I mix it up when i'm getting sick of fruit punch, but i tend to always go back to fruit punch or blue raspberry.

I don't know if I could give up soda... heh. I am kind of addicted. I'm not sure what part about it; probably the carbonation and the sugar, mostly. The sugar. Maybe the caffeine, too. I'm gonna get the diabeatus. My dad has it, too. Maybe I should take it more seriously, but... I don't feel like it. Heh.
Wuv, Yer Mom
EDIT: I call it "soda pop" sometimes, too. Or just "pop." I think "pop" is the common name around here.

I'll have to go to Costco then. There's one about 15 miles down the highway from me. It's a bit of a drive to save some change on Gatorade cases, though. Fruit punch is the best, by far. I haven't tried many other flavors, mainly because I never, ever get sick of fruit punch, but I may branch out eventually. Seriously, I could drink the stuff all day. Wish I could get a lifetime supply.Originally Posted by Korova
What really sucks is the vending machines pricing Gatorade $0.50 higher than sodas. I always take the Gatorade, but damn it anyway!
Yeah I;ve been trying to cut down on my soda drinking. Mostly substituting apple juice but it's been out lately at the diner. I've got milk and chocolate syrup stocked in my fridge though.
Lol pop.. >>
I'll get some photos of the bubble tea place here, "TenRen's". It has a nice interior. I should be going tomorrow or something. We wanted to go today for some alcohol mixed with bubble tea, thanks to S's suggestion. LAWL. But it was closed by the time we got there (post-House). momo² looks nice though.
TenRen is a nice place, depends on which one you go to. they have like two in NY Chinatown or something.. one is like hip and has comtemporary furnshings, the other is more "oldschool" if you will, with thier furnitures.... anyway yeah..
Drinking too much gatorade makes your poop change that color.....
Haha.. yeah you guys just checked didn't you?
I can pretty much drink any gatorade/powerade flavors, though if Gatorade is available, I will choose that over Powerade. If it's at a fast food place, iono drinking a "sports" drink with food is kinda.. weird.. so I just go for the Hi-C, lol nothing like fake juice. =)
Propell isn't too bad either. Drank that shit before it caught on, but didn't know Gatorade made it until the latter... >.>; As for flavors? Iono usually it's anything unless it's yellow or green.. iono flavors of those colors usually aren't good to me for some reason..
The slightly flavored water tastes disgusting to me, and usually leaves my mouth dry or something. I like Gatorade (lemon and orange mostly, fruit punch is overpowering most of the time), though I can't really tell the difference between that and something like...Uh...Powerade, if there's any difference. Is Gatorade even that good for you, other than the fact that it has carbs or something in it to burn (which isn't quite good...)?It seems almost like uncarbonated soda to me.
I've been drinking almost nothing but water lately, though. My dad may bring back diet coke once in a while, but I can only take so much of it. I'm not accustomed to the taste anymore. Diet Pepsi and other super sweet diet drinks just gross me out entirely. It's like they just decided to cram as much artificial sweetener into a can as possible. So when I'm not having water, I just have milk (skim, because everyone loves white water), and to a lesser extent juice. I was so hooked on pineapple and orange juice for a while.Mmmmmmm.
Costco wracks my nerves, lol. My mother is fixated on saving money. My mom just buys so much because of bulk savings. Most of it ends up going bad before I can actually eat it. Then she asks me why I didn't cram 12 pieces of fruit down my throat in three days. Good for the stuff that's pre-packaged though. AND THEY SELL PINEAPPLE.
I read that as loli pop...Originally Posted by Misa

Iono why people just drink sports drinks casually, it's kinda weird. >.>;
Skim milk?! You might as well drink water dude... Whole milk is where it's at.
Costco is awesome... sure it costs money to get a membership. if you have a roommate you can go in together... i have bulk shampoo, bulk toothpaste, bulk hotdogs... haha... i use a grocery store mostly (Safeway online delivery) but for stuff that i can freeze or doesn't go bad (like toiletries, laundry stuff) I'll go to Costco. Oh and sometimes video games..
I didn't know that, hahaha. I thought Powerade was some sort of deluxe Gatorade for the even more serious athletes. =P No wonder I see it in Coca-Cola vending machines. I don't understand this electrolyte stuff though...lol.Originally Posted by Keisuke Takahashi

Costco was doing a $600 bundle thing with the Wii though. Or was it more? They wanted you to buy a ton of games and accessories. Evil bastards.
