Hello ^^. I'm really excited about this and can't wait to start up an RP here.
So here it is!
I hereby introduce:

The Story of Alcedonia


History and Storyline:

It has been many years since the world of Alcedonia lived in peace. It’s once quiet landscape is now terrorized by the horror known as Maleficus and his evil minions.
The causes for the disruption of this beautiful country is simply for the quest of the ‘Aduro Emblem’. You see, it is said that he who possesses the Emblem shall have unimaginable power. As this item is so desirable it was decided that it was not safe to keep the whole Emblem in one place for if an evil force was to come to hold it who knows what terrors could become unleashed. And so the leaders of four villages took it upon themselves to split the Aduro Emblem - separate and hide the four shards so to protect them with their lives.
As history paved itself, the results were dire. Maleficus craved to have the power and would stop at nothing to attain it. Using blackmail, empty promises and pure evil he built up an army whom he called his minions. Maleficus and his minions lived soully to find and use the Emblem of Aduro.
Through many battles, much blood was lost and lives taken – to which the result ended in the Evil Lord attaining two pieces of the Emblem.

This brings us up to present day – where two other shards of the Aduro Emblem still remain protected but very much in danger.
One of the few standing villages left in this chaotic realm - Domus, is now under threat as they protect one the shards of the pure Aduro Emblem. The leader of the village ‘Bob’ is determined to save this piece of the Emblem and so has planned give it to a team of fighters and bestow upon them the mission of a lifetime. To hide and protect the Aduro Emblem, attain the other safe piece… as well as the ones which Maleficus holds.
It is a dangerous job, but the only way in which the future may be saved. Decisions made on this journey could save or destroy the beautiful world known as Alcedonia.

The world of Alcedonia:

Alcedonia is a simple world. It’s not modern with fancy cities and futuristic lifestyles.
Many villages are scattered through the lushess landscape, and one main city. The City of ‘Alterra’ is at the heart of Alcedonia and is where all major trading merchants lie. Here in the big City you can partake in many different event’s such as the national “Libertas Day” in which the population celebrate in remembrance of the past before Maleficus terrorized the land.
The basic landscape of Alcedonia consists of natural forests (some enchanted by forbidden magic), barren deserts where war was once declared on and majestic lakes, rivers and waterfalls.
The land of this world is stunning in all of its contrasts, but it with its beauty also lies perilous dangers.



So that is the basics as you can see.


Here is my Character Profile:


Name: Nivos Decor. Roughly translated it means Snow Beauty.

Gender: Female.

Race: Human.

Fighting Style: Primarily a Frost Mage. But has basic close combat fighting skills as well due to insufficient mana supplies etc.

Age: 19.

Appearance: Pure white flowing hair to just a above her hips which caresses the sides of her face giving her a peaceful and graceful look. Translucent skin, full lips and ice cold blue eyes, Nivos is a true beauty. Her delicate appearance give people the wrong impression of this lethal mage – and so she takes full advantage of this when able.
Nivos has a slender figure while holding a height of 5 foot 6 inches.
Her attire is simplistic and designed so she is able to move freely in any possible combat. On her torso she wears a black v-necked short sleeved shirt which clings to her body snugly showing off her figure neatly. Printed on the back of the shirt are a pair of angel wings with some Latin words beneath. Accompanying the shirt on the bottom is a pair of shorts (black with a silver trim) – to add free movement and agility. Strapped to her thighs are daggers in convenient holsters for easy access.
Footwear consists of black boots ending just beneath the knee for additional protection.
Worn on her hands are a smooth black gloves which allow her to handle the elements with ease.

Personality: Nivos is an ambitious girl, she has to follow through anything she starts. At first she may appear reserved and quiet, but once you get to know her, her true spirit is revealed. Nivos is a fighter – but with a kind heart which on occasion can let her down. Abandoned from the age of a young girl she has had to become strong to survive and you will find rarely anything can rattle her.

Weapons: As mentioned in appearance she has 2 daggers strapped to her thighs. These daggers possess stats which enhance both magic and agility, and are used in close combat when necessary.

Magic: Her primary source of battle is magic as she is a Frost Mage. She has three abilities mastered in this art:

Glacies-Vesica = Ice-Blade
The ability to conjure a deadly blade constructed from ice. This blade is used for close combat, it also has the added advantage of it touches the opponents skin it will burn the skin. A magical enhancement strengthens this weapon slightly as to prevent it breaking so easily – but this also means it consumes user energy and cannot be used for extended periods of time. This blade can be thrown, however as soon as it leaves the hand of the conjurer and meets it’s target the weapon will melt thus meaning it becomes redundant.

Frigus-Pluvia = Cold/Frost-Rain
This allows the mage to summon a torrent of violent rain in the form of icy needles. The duration of this attack is 10 seconds (maximum) and consumes a lot of energy leaving the caster drained for a while. While it is exhausting, it can also be used against multiple enemies – perhaps holding them off.

Glacialis-Ara = Frozen-Protection
This is defensive magic. If the magic uses this spell he/she is able to cast a protective block of ice which seals them inside saving them from an enemy attack. The spell is active for 4 seconds and may be cast on self or any allies. Only one shield can be active at the given time – although if the Amulet of Magus is acquired this spell can be used on multiple allies at a single moment.

Past: Not much is known about her past except for that she was abandoned as a child. Not through choice though, her parents were killed by minions of Maleficus. Due to this event in her life, she has taken it upon herself to avenge her parents by devoting her life and soul into hunting down and destroying Maleficus himself.


Just to clear it up, the story would begin as the first RP'ers being part of the selected 'Team' all might Bob selects. If of course you wish to be on Maleficus' side, I'm more than sure we could arrange this. I'm open to ideas.


I really hope you'll join me in this RP ^^ (Well I can't exactly do it solo xD!). I believe it has great potential.

Name: Sepia Koranos (I have no idea if this translates to anything or not XD)

Gender: Of the female variety

Race: Human with a trickle of elf

Fighting style: Sword combat and such, with knowledge of basic spells like Cure. (actually, just cure XD)

Age: 16

Personality: Serious yet sweet, she is your average personality with not much to speak of. A bit of a sarcastic comedian, she (usually) knows just what to say. But underneath it all, she's just a scared little girl. This is the part of herself she rarely lets out and tends to hide it with laughter.

Weapons: A longsword given to her by her father. She is also quite competent with other types of swords and not too bad with a bow and arrows.

Magic: Cure. Fun times.

Past: Her mother died from disease when she was very small, and lived alone with her father until she was eight, when Maleficus and his army attacked their village. Her father went off to fight and died trying to protect her. At the edge of his grave, after crying for a bit, she looked to the sky and vowed to avenge him. In that moment she lost a bit of her childish innocence and her heart became a little bit harder.
Her current mission is to kill the guy with the funny name. Mal-whatever. Yes.

Okay here's my Character Profile:

Name: Tukiko Hoshiko (basically translates too "Moon Star")

Gender: Female

Race: Elven... I think that's what it's called when you're an elf

Fighting Style: Tukiko is a warrior who uses a medium length sword it's not a huge bulky one, but one thats more thin so that you don't loose balance and have higher agility

Age: I'll go ahead and say 15 ^^

Appearance: She has medium length electric blue hard with dazling purple eyes. She's around 5 ft 1and is very slim for her stature of a warrior... She has a tan skin colour from being outside training to become one of the strongest of her kind and wears a simple suit that has a lilac colour appearance to it

Personality: She's the kind of person who stands up for themselves and sometimes gets a little hot tempered when people say that she'll never be as tough as a man with a sword... She very faithful and will never abandon her friends in panic and values then and would defend them for her life... She's sweet at times and learns to appreciate every moment she shares with others ^^

Weapons: She uses a medium lenght sword thats quite thin so that she can support it and beable to move quickly around

Magic: Sadly she uses no magic at all but is hoping to learn some thunder spells

Name: Corryn

Gender: Male

Race: Originally human although what exactly he is now is a question even he doesn't know the answer too

Fighting style: Corryn makes use of an original style that he developed to fit around the strengths of his heavily altered body, it relys predominantly on speed and power leaving little room for the opponent to make a successful counter attack

age: 23 by his own reckoning

Apperance: At first glance one would assume he was human, his wispy blond hair left unkempt and allowed to fall gracefully around his face. Large violet tinged eyes overflowing with a serene warmth that seemed to spread to whatever lay in his gaze. But slowly the oddities begin to shine through, a glimpse of the two pronged ear through the mess of hair, the razor sharp claws that extend from the tips of the fingers, and the faint unnatural tinge to his skin.
He wears a plain black shirt with the sleeves rolled back past his elbows and a single piece of plate armour strapped to his right shoulder. His leggings are a light tan colour, amply fitting his frame leaving him with an unexpected freedom of movement. A variety of blades hang loosely from his hips, swaying in time with his movements.

Personality: Corryn is for the most part quiet an cautious, unwilling to trust strangers and loathing crowded spaces where his abnormal visage cannot help but draw the eyes of the masses. He is very defensive over his past history, both before and after the transformation and will quickly change subjects when the conversation steers towards it. Despite his somewhat off putting coldness towards others he is actually quite protective of his comrades who he sees as a family of sorts.

Weapons: The blades hanging from his hip range from long sparing daggers to light throwing knives. There are a total of 12 blades

Magic: Corryn can employ a variety of shadow magic, although he finds it distasteful and underhand
Shadow Step
The caster can move themselves through shadows for a brief distance, almost teleporting around the battlefield. This trick is not however without its limitations, a skilled mage would be able to detect their presence from the release of mana and without a shadow to disguise their position the darting form of the shadow is clearly visible. A skilled caster is even able to send other objects such as weapons and allies into enemy blind spots while still in direct combat with the opponent.
Shadow Form
The caster temporarily merges their body with the shadows causing weapons and attacks to pass straight through them, however this puts immense strain on the body and is in many ways more damaging than the wounds you are avoiding. A skilled caster is able to meld only the necessary body part with the shadow as opposed to the entirety

Past: Although Corryn is very tight lipped about it the general consensus is that he was once human, the exact logistics of how that happened still remain a mystery though. From the small bits of information that people have managed to coax out of him he was employed to recover an object of value, he refuses to state whether it was a living being or a desirable artefact, upon claiming the 'object' he was thwarted by its owner and cursed. There is a great deal of speculation over his adamant use of the word 'it' as opposed to 'he' or 'she' when referring to the owner. His past before the transformation is even more cloudy as the closest there is to a clue is a cryptic reference to how his old friends would be unable to recognise the name Corryn.

Well seeing as there doesn't seem to be much discussion on plot i'll kick it off.

I think the majority of the characters should be strangers, it allows characters to get to know each other and discuss their motivations in a much more interesting way. Also considering how different each member of the group is the possibility of them all being close friends that grew up together is slight. My character for example would probably be better suited for his first meeting with the others as it would draw into play the insecurities he has with his body, but also because he is very unlikely to have settled down somewhere between his transformation and now.

Moving on to potential plot points:
Idea 1: we could have the yet unclaimed shard be in a village of the living dead thanks to Maleficus' dark magic. Not only does it allow us to immediately show off our villain as a very evil and twisted being, it can be used for character building.
Idea 2: this one probably wouldn't be used for a while but we could have one of our characters turn traitor and join the enemy. Regardless of whether this remains permanent the character would have to have a good reason for swapping sides, most likely to complete the emblem and utilize its power to bring back the dead, or in my case become human.
Idea 3: This one relates to the past of my character only, anyone else taking part in this side plot would probably end up being a side character. Corryn is reunited with his old friends to discover that he has been away for far longer than he thought (for anyone who didn't pick up the hint in the age section) It's basically just a chance to reveal the characters back story

I like your ideas very much.
And you're right in saying how it is unlikely that the characters may not have been able to grown up together or something.
My favourite idea is #1. We need good opportunities to display battle skills and to allow the characters to know how their comrades work.
What we need to sort out is how we meet and where. The beginning of the storyline was to be the leader of the village Domus gives the shard to a 'team' for them to protect and claim the others. So how and where do we meet? Have we all been summoned from the other villages?
Thoughts anyone? ^^

Well my character could be a free lancer, it would fit fairly well with him. Forever moving, never having to stay too long with people who view him as a monster, it also fits more closely to his past life than some of the other alternatives. Although it would make my character pretty untrustworthy in the eyes of other group members, however that may be a good thing as it would create conflict within the group

Yeah I like the idea of conflict (Haha I don't mean that to sound mean), it would allow great potential for the storyline.
Happily ever after stories and groups get a bit old too fast if you get what I mean. So conflict sounds good. As a free lancer you could wander into the village at a convenient time, or have a connection to the Domus' leader?

This just occured to me, are we going to have a posting order or will it be whoever gets there first? I'd suggest having a post order because it means that we could have longer more polished posts and people wont have to go back and change or delete their post if someone gets in just before them. The only downside is it'll slow down over all posting, and if someone drops off the radar it can cease completely. So here's a suggestion, we use a posting order but if someone doesn't make a post within say two days it moves on to the next poster.

Ok here is my character. I was originally going to go with the mercenary type but loner-kid seems to have that covered, so my character is going to be on the opposing side to spice things up and tell the story from two different perspectives.

Name- He is simple known as Huntsman to his men and through out the land, he received this name because of his ferocious hunting style, once he starts a hunt he will never quit until he is either dead or has eliminated his prey or target.

Gender-Male

Race- Huntsman is human but is from a distant land.

Age-30

Appearance- Huntsman is tall and well muscled has very little body fat due to his nationality. He has dark yellow tanned skin like an Egyptian, he has shoulder length black hair that is done in dread locks and then tied back into a ponytail. His right side of his body is covered in tribal tattoos from face to his legs he earned these tattoos because he was the most skilled warrior in all of his lands and the neighboring tribes. He wears very light black breast plate over a long sleeved shin lengthened robe/tunic with a hood and slits down the front and back of his legs for easy movement, his boots are leather strapped knee length boots.

Weapons- Huntsman uses the weapons of his land, he uses two scimitar like blades made and modified by himself named Rameses after the great ancient ruler of his land and the second called Ptolemy named after a great strategist and fabled magician of his land. They are sheathed in scabbards on his back easily reached from over his shoulders. He also has a small curved dagger on his hip for close combat but one of his main weapons is a a double bladed spear one blade on each end, the unique thing about this spear is that the blades can retract into the pole making it a more safer but no less deadly staff.

Fighting Style- He uses a exotic fighting style of Martial arts fighting and skilled swordsmanship either equipping himself with both or one sword at a time. He utilizes speed and agility to overcome his opponents and his lithe muscular build and heightened senses gives him an almost inhuman quick reaction time allowing him to parry and counter an oncoming attack. In his homeland he was believed to be possessed by the god of 'Rethian' the god associated with Wind and lightening, but this of course was a myth amongst his people.

Magic- Huntsman doesn't use magic but like mentioned before hand he seems to poses abnormal reactions, reflexes and speed which gives people the idea that he has a Guardian, in his land this Guardian was called Rethian as above.

Personality- He always has an air of authority amongst his men and they react to this with bound loyalty to Huntsman, even to the people of the land his aura proclaims focus and precision and that is how he commands his men, he teaches them to be focused at all times whether faced with countless enemies or death and his squad of men are feared because of this special training. Other than that he is calm and collected and assesses his options and studies his enemies before engaging. He is introverted and quiet and has very little need to reprimand his men because of their loyalty to him they will follow him to death if that be so.

History- Huntsmans village and people were decimated and plagued by an evil of his land and so he set out on his travels and vowed to find a way to stop the evil. In his travels he learnt of a Artifact that possessed great power called the Aduro Emblem, he hoped this item had the power to destroy what was causing his family great anguish. So he set out to find this Emblem. He traveled for several days and nights and even over great seas to distant lands. He found a local village one night in this land and they welcomed despite his different appearance they said they treated everyone equal, so he stayed here for quite a while while he gathered information on the Emblem. One night while he was lying under a tree in a hammock in the starry night the peace of the village was shattered and was attacked by a squad of evil minions, Huntsman rushed to the villages aid and fended off the brunt of the attack slaughtering countless enemies., the men did not expect quite a resistance and word got back to the Ruler known as Maleficus who demanded to see this great warrior. The village was once again attacked but this time Huntsman was overcome by shear numbers and brought to kneel before Maleficus who then began to ask him who he was and how he became such a magnificent warrior.

Maleficus gave him the choice to serve under him or die, after learning what Maleficus's mission was Huntsman decided to join hoping it would give him the chance to acquire what he desperately needed. Maleficus made him captain of his own elite squad charged with the finding of the four shards, regretfully after killing many innocent people and villages Huntsman found two of the four shards and presented them to his master, he then earnt his name Huntsman after the brutal efforts to retrieve the shards from the fleeing guardians. Ever since then Huntsman has been on the quest to find the last two shards so closely guarded by its powerful protectors.

It has been several years since Huntsman has left his village all hope has been lost to save his village despair and anger made him weak allowing Maleficus to fully manipulate him and dig out Huntsman's inner evil, he no longer chases the Emblem for his village but for the bidding of his evil Lord Maleficus.

If only he could realize that there is always hope.

Nice post dragoon, finally we get some evil people with complete back stories. Plus I see an interesting fight scene between some one who's inhuman and another who's thought to be, fun fun.

Kilala I don't mind if we change the posting order I already have a fair idea what I want to post (Although it'll take a while for me to write it, I'm easily distracted) but dragoon should probably be last on the post order, just cos it makes more sense to introduce the heroes then the villains, not just cut in halfway through.

So, here is MY character:

Eden (means paradise, haha.), sometimes 'Ede' when it comes to lazy people. Also, my character that represents me as my deviant.

Female.

Age//
13.

Appearance//
White hair with hints of purple at the tip of her hair, with blue, frosty eyes and a calm look. She is always wearing a white sweater, a pair of gray, puffy pants, no matter what season it may be.
She also bears a pair of black feathered wings, and two completely white cat ears. Her hair is short, but sort of curly (like Marluxia, except shorter). She is, no doubt, fairly skinned and skinny, but she doesen't show it unless she's in her pajamas, which is a sleeveless shirt, baggy shorts, and a rabbit doll she carries with her.

Weapons//
As a somewhat-violent merchant, she always has a unimaginable stock of potions and weapons, and usually uses guns, magic or bows.

If she is using a sword, a knife, or a katana, it possibly means she wants to assassinate you by choking, or stabbing you in the knee physically.

Style of Fighting//
Well..
She always wait for her enemies to come toward her, while she is casting buff spells. She jumps to the highest place, and when her enemies are right exactly where she wants them to be, she will aim for the head, casting a confusion bullet, and will move to another corner and will repeat until at least half of her foes are confused.
Then, she will proceed to assassinate them with her current weapons.
If, however, this fails, she will attack with magic bullets, causing some effects, and will move place-to-place when she is in this state.

And a different tactic: She waits for her foes to come close to her. Until then, she starts giving her allies random buffs. And then, she will rush towards them, stabbing or shooting rapidly.

Special Abilities//

As a merchant, she can move at a high speed, and can jump at a high status.
She can also use strong healing items. She can sometimes counter, depending on the attacks a nearby foe uses.

Abilities//
Sudden End/ Chokes the target. Has a 50% chance of working, and if it does not work, it will instead make the target gasping for air, unable to use its weapons for a while.

Magic Potion/ Will heal a ally, depending on her ally's level. 100%.

Rapid bullets/ Will shoot rapidly, causing multiple hits. Requires a gun. 40%.

Stab/ Will stab all of a sudden. Requires a spear/katana/swords. 100%

Brave Soul/ Will cast random buff effects on nearby allys, unless in the state of depression. 100%.

Rush time/ Will begin to pick up speed. 100%.

Heartlessly/ Will draw two magic cards, choosing to summon either one offensive or one supportive card. 20%.

Relax/ Heals. 30% due to panicking battles and thoughts of food.

SPECIAL//
Bloody Raindrops/ Disables most enemies. The name explains itself.

Destiny's Calling/ Casts the forces of Light and Dark, dealing masssive damage to one foe.

Item Barrage/ Throws countless, offensive items at one foe, dealing massive damage.

Magic Rain// Gift one unit the power of the stars, but cannot use any magic afterwards.

Magic//
Only one has been confirmed. There are many more, but I'm too lazy to list them all, because there are way too many.
Sleep/ Will cause the target to fall asleep, unless if the area is not sound-absorbant.

Occupation//
Assassin, Sage, Alchemist, Gunner, and an official merchant(rank 10), along with the license.
Or, a multi-talented traveler.

Growth Ability//
-If an ally grows stronger, they can learn magic faster than usual.

Effect of elements//
Weak to all elements, except for Fire, Light and Darkness. Really heavy damage if hit by water or ice.

Personality//
Always cool and calm. She will almost never get angry, and can understand people easily. Other people don't seem to understand her, though. She takes a situation and carefully plans it out. If in a world-wide crisis, on another hand, she will rush it instead, causing her to collaspe in confusion.
And, if there is a chance that she became suddenly angry, she will stare at the ground and clutch her fists.
Well, only if she is in a busy situation, that is. Actually, she's crazy. Insane. But, in a really funny way. She'd probably force anyone into a animal costume if she has to. And, she likes hugs. But, in truth(again), she is 'tomboy'ish as in tough, but will begin to look as tough and cute if she gets used to you, and will show many, many emotions.

While new rp'ers are always welcome i'm curious as to how you two intend to use those percentage chances. I don't mean to be patronizing uber gilgamesh but do you know the difference between an rpg and an RP we aren't going to have health bars or mana bars it'll be primarily creative writing based character building and adventuring. I just feel that your character is a little... well brief, the majority of what you've writen are abilities he can use in battle, I'd really like to see this character developed a little more than 'stereotypical samurai badass'

Coolies thats ok with me i can wait until last, that will give some time to ponder on my first post.

I agree with loner-kid to the characters are all good and well but how will you work the percentages into a battle, it is really up to the other character i mean i always treat it as a 50/50 you miss some you hit some sort of thing of course that doesn't mean i am invincible and can't be hit my character may be quick but there is always someone better, of course no finishing or death moves are going to work at the beginning of the story other wise we will have characters dying off before the story is finished.

Edit this is what i invisage my character to look like, as you can tell he will look like Altair from Assassins Creed but with a black roman style breastplate and without the weapons and daggers etc and of course he has darker skin.

Appearance: Medium height, sandy blondish hair, hazel eyes. Clothing all dirty and torn.

Personality: He is a Straight forward man who thinks then acts. He puts himself last before all others, he's leadership is second to none.

Weapons: He wields Board swords and is a master at crossbows

Magic: He knows how to use supportive spells and how to heal people in battle

History: He was in the army and he was exiled because he made the right order but it was against hes officers commands. Now he is hired help.

Limit Break/ Special: Holy thunder. He empowers hes blade with holy and stikes he's enemy while that happens the enemy is stuck by lighting.
