    Rage Against The Machine

    Who loves this band!

i think they fricken rock, they're just so different and catchy. They also put many good protest messages across. They chose teh sensible way to protest through funkay guitar riffs, shredding solos, twanging basses, catchy drum beats and freaking awesome

Zack Del a Rocha - see he's so awesome he got his own line.

Also the album, cover for their self titled album is awesome.

    My favourite songs are

    --bullet in the head
    --know your enemy
    --killing in the name
    --bombtrack
    --Sleep Know in the fire

Awesome? The Tibetan monk setting himself on fire is awesome?

Anyway, I liked Rage more when I was younger. I thought was so supercool writing lines like, 'I know my enemy, they're the teachers who taught me to fight me! on my fourth year geography folder.

I first heard them during Princess Diana's funeral. I was seven years old, and the nation had been asked to partake in a minute's silence. Everyone was doing it. My mother thought that this was pish, that the princess wouldn't have wanted such noise, and that we should act more how my mum perceived the princess would have liked. Long story short, myself, my 5 year old brother, my mother and a kid from next door spent the minute's silence bouncing on the sofabed to '**** YOU, I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME.'

De la Rocha always seemed a bit immature and idealistic to me though. Then again, most socialist/Communist/whatever he is this week do.

Most people probably don't even realize that it is a real picture.

I was never a fan. I do like Tom Morello's guitar work, but he can't save the band. I really wish Tom Morello would quit the RATM's and Audioslave's of the world and join a better act.

I still don't get where you're coming from here. He was setting himself alight in desperation, the only thing he had left. It's one of the saddest photographs I've ever seen, a human having been pushed so far as to do that to themselves. It's a horrible image.

I tried to listen to Bombtrack today. It's lost some of its gleam. Well, a lot.

I can remember when I first saw that picture and my Dad telling me what it was and what happened. Yeah, it is very sad. It's so bizarre how he just sat there and took it, didn't scream or anything. It's really horrible. The message it holds is strong, but it still has that morbid feeling to it.

But I guess that's what Rage are about, I guess. Putting a strong message across. Though I still can't decide whether I find it disrespectful to the monk or not.

To be honest, I'm not that big of a fan. Some of their stuff can be catchy, but I could just never get into it. But I do really like the purpous and meaning to them.

They're okay. I used to like them more. I have one of their CD's upstairs, but I only really liked two of their tracks.

I haven't heard them for ages. I don't really care for what they talk about in their songs anyway, to be honest.

I used to listen to some Rage Against the Machine when I was younger, but then one day I realized that I would really like to listen to real music, so I stopped listening to them. I haven't listened to their noise since.

I am not a fan of Rage Against The Machine so there isn't all that much new that I can say about this band that hasn't already been said.

I still remember when I first bought their self-titled album, I thought it was brilliant and nothing could ever touch it. Well, I was so wrong. I realized that it is a really overrated album. Don't get me wrong but if you compare it to any real metal of the era when this album came out it would be crushed.

You might want to check out his solo acoustic act "The Nightwatchman". It's pretty good. You might like it. But I do agree that Audioslave should not exist.

As for RATM, I like them quite a bit. I only own one CD of theirs ("Battle of Los Angeles") and it's good. I like Zack de la Rocha's vocal style, and I think it fits well into the aggression that the band puts out. Tom Morello I'm still kind of "Meh" about, but hey, that's just me.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

Yeah they're pretty good. I've started to listen to Audioslave more than them recently. Plus, Morello is an inspiration to me. Never heard someone quite like him. I got myself a Digitech Whammy Pedal just because I wanted to jam like him. Truly amazing.

RAGE AGAINST THE MUTHA F***ING MACHINE.

Yes I love them one of my favourite bands, I saw them earlier this yeah at the Big Day Out festival.... OMFG...
One of the most original sounding bands out there, political yet catchy.

    Top 5 songs are:
    Roll Right
    Tire Me
    Township Rebellion
    Bullet In The Head
    Bulls On Parade

Lol Audioslave are a joke. Chris Cornell is probably one of my least favourite musicians.
I once got into a fight with a guy because he said that Audioslave was more politically sound then RATM.... I came off the better man

Although I must say, they all have very bad haircuts.

Yeah, RATM was one of my 'starter' bands when I was first getting serious about music.

They've got some pretty solid basslines and rockin' guitar rhythms. Their first 2 albums are pretty solid but they get a lot worse as their albums come out. A lot worse.

Renegades of Funk isn't really that great of an album.. at all. Neither's Battle of Los Angeles or whatever it's called. Both albums only have like 2-4 good songs on them.
