I don't think any games should be remade. Come up with something original.
Other than the story, what you described is just a new Zelda title in the series. Why are people obsessed with remakes? You've played the game already, what more do you want?
All of you already know that Ocarina of Time is being remade for the 3DS which is pretty cool. But how many of you would like to see A Link to the Past get a 3DS revamp and what would you want in the remake?
As for me, I would like to see a more 3D version of the overworld, sword techniques, maybe some extra dungeons, some new items, and have more content added to the story that didn't fit in the super famicom/snes/gba versions.

Honestly, with the exception of an HD version with maybe a few extra features, I'd rather not see it remade. It still looks and plays great, so what's the need? I've no desire to play it in 3D - it would probably feel exactly like Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess.

About that statement, why is Ocarina of Time being remade? that should be left as is as well if games really didn't need remakes. I wouldn't mind seeing OoT being remade but I think ALttP could use one. The reason why games get remade is to introduce new fans to the already existing games.Originally Posted by chad

Fine with me. I enjoyed the original OoT, and I'd hate to see it remade into something else. I already played it, and I have that experience from my past, and even a remake wouldn't bring that feeling back. It's over and done, time to move on.

Remaking games is usually completely unnecessary. Play the original or don't play it at all..
I'm actually surprised that 3/4 people in this thread are against the remake. I thought I'd be in the minority when I expressed that I didn't want it remade. Also, I hate people who vote in polls but don't post.

Played many remakes and some of them proved to be better than originals, of course if it sucks you still have the original game. I personally love remakes, the well done ones, ain't it great to see one of your favorite games improved, better graphics, more content...that's way I don't have anything against "A Link in the Past remake", in fact I would love to see it, the game is fairly old and it would be great to experience it again with all that today's consoles have to offer.

If they were to remake any Zelda title it should be Majora's Mask, add a few new Masks and that's it.
They did remake Link to the Past, for the GBA, it had Four Swords on it.

I really hope for remakes for games that I feel need them. A Link to the Past is not one of those games.
The game feels great to play. It looks great for what it is. To me, the game is already perfect as is.

I don't care if there is a lttp remake. I think that Loaf brings up a good point, in fact. Another one would probably still sell though, especially if it was an update to the graphics or something. Anyhoo...
