Ooh! I have a story!
I have a large sapphire ring that one of my grandmothers gave me. She bought it when I was born and gave it to me when I turned 16. Anyway, I once wore it to the movies, and when I went to the bathroom, I took my ring off, set it on the counter and washed my hands, but forgot to put it back on.
Later, when my friend and I left the theater and were walking around the mall, I realize that my ring is not on my finger! I dump my purse out on the floor and search through the pile to see if I had just put it in there, but nope. Not there. I had to think about the last time I took it off, and it hit me that it was when I went to the bathroom.
My friend and I drive back to the theater (which was closed) and I pound on the door. A janitor opened it up for me, and I rushed to the bathroom to see if by some miracle it was still there.
It was.
I was sooo happy and relieved that no one snatched it up. I haven't worn it much ever since, mainly because I don't wear a lot of jewelry anyway, but also because I don't want to make the same mistake of leaving it somewhere. Next time I do, I may not get it back.![]()

: One of the rings on my keychain (the one that has my car key on it) sucks. Every once in a while, my car key will fall off of it, usually when I'm taking it out of my pocket, so that the key will actually just stay in my pocket. So every once in a while, I get to have a nice little panic session where I think "OH SHIT MY CAR KEY FELL OFF I LOST IT WHERE CAN IT BE?" and then I find out that it's in my pocket.
