Do you guys have nicknames? Be it from school, work, or just growing up?

It seems everyone I know has one or more. We at work all have one just gained over time. And as a kid my father rarely called me by my actual name.

The best would have to be that at my job (liquor store) we've nicknamed customers (alcoholics). As a way to recognize who's who you might as well slap a colorful name to a face. There's a guy who buys at least 2 separate pints of Soco everyday. He's the one and only Soco Loco. There's also the Croatian Sensation, Tequiza Queen, Scarecrow, Faux Tom Brady, and the Oracle...just to name a few.

My friends all call me "Bowie". It's a long story but I'll try to keep it as short as possible.

Originally, one of my friends in high school wanted to write a movie script where he would cast David Bowie as this badass, and his thing would be to kick people in the face. So you can kinda see where this is goin.

Later in my high school life, these three dudes came up to me as I was about to get in my car and were sayin how they were gonna kick my ass. I guess I said something to them during gym class and they didn't like it. I wasn't about to get my ass kicked by three guys because **** that shit, so when one came at me like he was going to punch me I jumped up and kicked him in the face. The two other dudes were kind of stunned, and asking WTF just happened, so I got into my car and left.

Then my friends just started callin me Bowie after that. Rofl

Most people just call me by my last name, friends and family members included. I also get called "kid" or "toddler" alot because compared to the people I hang out with, I look a lot younger then what I am. Or I'm often "that guy that is always passed out on Tim's couch", that one I get a lot too.

I have a few nicknames. Jules is probably the most common, but my close friends and my family call me Dodie. Dodie came about because my youngest brother has Down Syndrome, and he has difficulty when speaking. When he says "Julie", it sounds like "Dodie", so that name just kind of stuck to me.

Haha, my co-workers have nicknames for some of the customers that come into the restuarant. There's one guy that always give us candy. We call him the "candy man" (real original, right?). Customers that stay too long are called "campers", and customers that don't tip get called "stiffers". There's probably more, but I can't think of any at the moment.

I'm usually called by my last name or, Meliboo, ahah! My family just calls me Mel. My nicknames very depending on the person. Oh, I just remembered another nickname of mine it's Koosegoose. It originated from the cartoon Dexter's Laboratory. It was the name of DeeDee's imaginary friend, I think his full name was "Koosealagooseagoop" or something, haha. I miss that cartoon. Rocko's Modern Life too

Seriously, though. My nickname is just Vicky, which is short for my name. Some people still call me Toph, which I guess is my other nickname.

My first nickname was Gemza. There were two Gemma's in my class, so the teacher gave us nicknames so to not confuse us. It didn't last long, and if anything it was just another something for people to annoy me with. ¬¬;;

At the moment though, it's either Gem or Gem-Gem or Gemmy (Toto) or Gim (Halie). Or Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeem-Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeem when people want something. Just... made from my name really. Quite boring.

Or there is Entity. Or UE. I don't like UE as much though.

My Freshmen year of High School, some guy I knew in P.E. started calling me TL. No reason, just called me TL and everyone from P.E. my Freshmen year would call me TL. Other then that I've had no nicknames.

I'm Pad because its the shortened version of my name... its been around since grade 2 or all my family relatives call me Padder or Padders... kind of annoying to tell the truth... I would hate to be the person who goes online and everyone in reality calls them by they're username (I have a friend who does that... but with e-mail adresses instead)... oh I also have a friend (same friend) who came up with THE most annoying nick-name Paddy-wag (or Paddy-Whack... both are annoying)... Why? because every time she sees me she sings "nick nack Paddy-whack give a dog a bone" which is really annoying

I've been Sasquatch since about seventh grade. I was the only guy in the locker room with reasonably hairy legs. I was also the only one in my class who needed to shave before even starting high school. (Shave my face, not my legs, by the way.)

When I moved up to Wisconsin, I moved into a class of 57, including myself. (This was a big adjustment, coming from a class of almost 500.) The entire high school was less than 300 students. And since I was the only new student that year, I became "New Guy". That lasted a full semester or so, until some friends decided that I needed an original nickname, since everybody else had one. So I became Peach. I'm fuzzy, I'm from Georgia, it fit. Some of my high school friends still call me Peach.

Sasquatch, I've had for a while, and it eventually became a part of my email, my username here, etc. Otherwise, the only nicknames I've had have been bestowed upon me by fellow Soldiers. I'm Sarge, or Ab-Dawg, or "Hey Abbott!", or, more recently, "brokedick". (See, "brokedick" is a term to refer to somebody who is injured -- kind of like "gimpy", I guess. As in: "Hey, we need three Privates to move some stuff." "Don't take Private Smith, he's brokedick. Messed his shoulder up, can't lift anything." Since I recently became injured by penile fracture, "dick" just worked.)

Otherwise ... I'm known by different names to different people, but nothing too uncommon. My brother and sister call me "bro", my nieces call me "Uncle Adam", et cetera.

Since my name is Matthew... My buds likes to just call me Matt, Matty, or Matter. I have never heard besides those nicknames. Lol sweet thread anyway.

I have few nicknames but most people just call me by my last name although my family calls me Robo, that would be a shorter name of Robert in my language. When I was in elementary school my nickname was "Little Robo" mainly because my friend had a same name and well, he was much taller than me. Right now some of my friends call me "Pipo" only because I ****ing hate that soccer player Inzaghi and that nickname has stayed even now but most of them still prefer to call me by my last name.

Well, my real name would be Joseph, but about 90% of the people I interact with socially call me Joe. The only other two nicknames that get used with any sort of frequency are given by my MapleStory friends. My IGN is MooglesLord, so my friend Anderson tends to call me Moog, even if we're just talking on skype/aim, and my friend Pook, in our perpetual awkward hilarity, tends to freqent toward Moogie or Moogiebear.

Yes i DO need to get a life. But Moogiebear IS kind of pwnsome.

My brother's friends call me "Stom," because my brother pronounced "This is Tim" as "S'Tim," and they thought I probably pronounce it the same way (with no actual evidence to back this up.) There was recently an idea for a movie called "The Adventures of Stim and Stom" in the works. That fell through, however.

My friends also came up with a couple nicknames that I actually like. One is "Fierce Like Clam." It's my indian nickname (that's terrible, I know.) The way they are created is with two people saying the first word that comes to mind, and then whoever else is present (aside from the person being named) votes on if it is good or not. They also call me "Corporal Punishment," because a lot of times I will harrass/"attack" people for no apparent reason, other than I'm in this weird, mischievous mood that I get into frequently. The first to be given a ranking was "General Antagonism," who frequently says antagonistic things to people for no apparent reason. And it didn't start out as a ranking; it was describing how he was acting. "So and so's all like 'GENERAL ANTAGONISM!'"

People on TFF frequently call me my old usernames. Anyhoo...

For a while I was referred to as "the toughest sumbitch we know" because of my complete disregard for my own health and or safety when it comes to sports. When you play baseball the day after you tear your ACL, and still go 3 for 4 at the plate I suppose it's warranted.

Most people call me Adam, seeing as though it's my name. But my Spanish friends, even though I don't have any, call me El Burrito, which in Spanish means "the burrito."

I have recently learnt of a nickname I had in high school that people used behind my back and it was bitch titties mainly due to the fact that through most of high school until senior year I was a fatty with rather large moobies but not now I am as fit as can be thanks to dieting and marine bootcamp...

I should probably say Froggie, as it isn't the name I was born with. However, I can count the amount of people on my fingers that call me by my birth name. Froggie's also on all my medical and legal records, so I really just consider it my name. On a daily basis I'll get called each of the following

-Froggie
-Frogger [and variation of this. Frogs, Froggsa, etc.]
-Chloe
-Midget [I'm 4'11'']

In the real world I tend to get called by my last name alot, which is fine with me with the exception of when people make the Jurasic Park reference (hint: newman says it in at the cafe), it was kind of crazy that a character used the same last name. Around here it is not to common.

Nicknames are fun but at times can be WAY to confusing. There is a guy that I use to work with that all I knew him by "Chico" it took almost 3 months for me to hear his real name and when I finally did I was like "who the **** is Brian????" Yup thats my lame story and I am sticking to it!

I'm always referred to by my first name in real life, because there are too many Asians at my school with the same last names. You can shout "HOANG" and make about five heads turn in any given quad. Try it again with "Lee" and you'll get probably twice that number, but that's besides the point.

In elementary school, the kids who didn't want to bother figuring out my name called me "Tee." That or "Tow truck", but I hated that name because they thought of it as an annoying joke (and it wasn't very creative). At some point, they figured out my name (around fifth grade) and they used that.

Seventh grade was when my current nickname "Toto" popped up. My friends and I just started shortening our names for the heck of it, and I guess "Toto" was really catchy, because it's stuck since then. Now all of my closer friends call me that...and one teacher.

The nicknames I give are pretty uncreative though. Usually, they're shortened versions of the person's actual name, or part of their name with a Y at the end.

I'm not fond of so many nicknames.. and peopLe don't usuaLLy give me some funny or any nicknames aLso..

Yesha comes from my first bestfriend.. she just accidentaLy pronounced it.. instead of Ayesa, (my reaL name..) and aLso.. Yesha is some kind of a Taiwanese TV Drama character name, which we both watched..!

But a classmate of mine had started to call me "blondie" - because I'm blonde. xD"
That's the only nickname I can think of... there sure were some others when I was younger, but I don't remember them.

And some have only been temporary, like "Marten" xD That... was nice. XD

I really don't have any nicknames. Sometimes people call me 'D', but even that seems pointless when my name is so short.

I get 'Sev' quite often because people think it's cool. Most people just call me by my name, though.
