My childhood was actually pretty awesome. My point is that literally everything that has been rebooted from the 80s and early 90s has been crap. It's stuff that's entirely been recycled to hit some kind of nostalgia note that's been the rage. It's all sucked, either just being a bad movie or completely out of touch with the source material. The only thing that I can think of that was decent was the A Team reboot.

And Clint, I agree. Bridesmaids had maybe two funny scenes, and they were both the gross out humor ones. Then again, I've never and will never be a bridesmaid

It is true that remakes have a poor track record, as I said. But I'd argue most of that stuff from the 80s and 90s wasn't much good to start with, so poor remakes didn't make much of a difference. The best stuff from those eras (e.g. ET, Back to the Future) hasn't been touched thus far really.

As for whoever said 'women aren't funny', dear oh dear. Bridesmaids was miles funnier than the horribly misogynistic/racist/homophobic/transphobic Hangover films.
