I have a lot of fun with Twilight Princess, but the Wii version that insisted on flipping everything so that Link was right handed. It was a fun entry and there was some genuinely entertaining boss fights. It's more of the same for a Zelda game, so if you're tired of the formula it's probably not to going to be a game changer for you.
Last Story, this is going to be one of the few times you'll hear this from me, because I can find something good about any game, but don't bother with The Last Story. The combat is so empty, it is literally move the stick and the game does the rest for you. You don't provide any other input in combat outside of special triggers. So just pass on it. It's a RPG where combat is empty, coming from the creator of FF, I don't understand how he screwed up that badly. This will be the rare time I tell you stay away from a game.
Xenoblade is sort of open world. I think it is big vast regions that you get to run around. It's very easy to get side tracked and lost doing something else when meant to be doing another thing. Definitely try it out, you can drop hundreds of hours into easily.
If you want something a little off the beaten path, Pandora's Tower could be a good pick. It's adventure action RPG where your goal is to save a girl from a curse of being turned into a monster. However, you're on a timer. She is constantly under going the transformation, so the longer you're want the worse she'll be when you return. And you have to feed her monster meat to keep the curse at bay. So there is a time management to the game of how long do you stay want and risk her getting worse. It's meant to play a lot on your feelings and guilt.
