They have great athletes, they have great policies...etc.
My parents said they were voting for Romney, because Obama seemed "shady". (Okay...) I asked my dad if he felt better off than he did 4 years ago when Obama took office. "It's not better for me, no." Well, do you feel worse-off? "Not really." So you want to change how things are drastically? "Yes. And I think Romney is better than Obama for that." ...sigh
So I asked him why he wasn't voting independent if he really wanted change. Because "they didn't count". FML
So this may seem really ignorant, and it kinda is. But I'm really sick of US politicians and them running for president. Three votes in my immediate family went to Romney. They all got "I voted" stickers. Did they research at all? (I asked them specifically) No. Did they watch the debates? No. Why are they voting for anyone then? If everyone just wants to make America better (let's say this is a main common goal), then why would you vote for anyone if you didn't do your research? Does that not seem counter-productive as hell to progressing?
I did not vote in this election. I would have voted for Jill Stein or Gary Johnson. But why would someone research that the Chiefs are the best team for them, and bet for the Chiefs, when only Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings are in the superbowl? Electoral college.
I want education for my children that I will (hopefully) bring into this world someday. I am not satisfied with the system, the education of the average citizen, or the candidates. There has to be more out there. It seems so half-assed (and that's being generous) for something so important.
