Some of us simply feel that parents should ensure that they take the future of the child into consideration when making that decision.

You just assumed I didn't take that into account. The underlying message is that my kids are not gonna be held down by other people's opinion's of them. Or their name for that matter.

@Mysterion Yep I definitely think it should be a joint decision. The baby naming process(not actually naming them) is something that would be good to bring up in the introductory phase of a relationship.
