Lie! I own cats and it still ALWAYS has to be over. We just close the bathroom door. We have one cat that will completely tear apart the tp AND the roll. It's like he thinks it's a monster or something.

Over just seems to make sense sometimes. It's easier to reach. it looks professional in hotels (I sometimes like to add the triangle for fun). I won't change it in public places because it isn't my job to. I don't care. But at home and the place I'm renting, I will change it around.

One observation though. You know those charmin commercials with the one bear who plays video games and needs to use the bathroom and uses the ultra soft? When he is told that he's taking too much, he rolls it back and the roll is "Under" so you can roll it back easier. My opinion, people who put it under take too much. Or are sheep and follow commercials. That's just an observation (Don't shoot me!)

Lastly, UE, you do wash your hands after right? Why would you worry about getting said germs from changing the roll when you're going to wash your hands a few seconds after?

Of course. With hot water and soap, between the fingers and under the nails (I'm just OCD - doesn't mean I get anything under the nails, etc... shuddupgem).

It's just that I've used one or two really shitty (no pun intended) bathrooms in my time. The worst one was on a five hour long drive, and we had to stop off for a toilet and refreshment break. The public toilets were outside and around the back of this petrol station, and they were awful. When you gotta go, you gotta go though. And I'm pretty sure that smudge on the inside of the tube was shit.

So yah... I dislike touching the inside of the tube if there's no holder.
