What do you feel the government is hiding from us?

I mean it can be anything from new technology, to alien encounters, to actually how close the world was to extinction if a comet came close, whatever.

Please give in-depth answers, not single phrases like.

My father has worked for the government for 30+ years now and he is always talking about how 95% of the government is so far behind commercial technologies that it's embarrassing. As far as the 5% he leaves out I believe most of that is some form of inhumane research into the human genome.
