The more I learn about IQ testing, the less stock I place in it. There are lots of different kinds of intelligences that don't get measured at all in these IQ tests, and there are many things that make me think that they just don't measure what they're supposed to (like the fact that minority groups just don't do as well on the standard IQ test).
Even so, I'm pretty sure I was tested when I was young, but I was never shown my score. As a result of this test, I was placed in some advanced classes. However I don't even really let that effect my view on my own intelligence because studies have shown that the IQ of someone as a youth doesn't correlate as highly as it should with their IQ as an adult. This further lends to my whole 'IQ tests are crap' theory. I still think it is important to recognize that some people are incredibly intelligent, I just don't think that these tests do what they're supposed to.
What I have learned from this thread with my high IQ:
1. TFFers are smarter than a majority of Americans.
2. It is okay to make clear that we are smarter than said majority, but we must not do it an overt manner and conduct ourselves as proper members of the elite. (Noblesse oblige)
3. The amount of time you brag about your test scores has an inverse relationship with your penis size and that I am in big trouble.
One strike against an otherwise spotless record.
