Ughh, not this topic again.
I was about to point out that goth != emo in any way, shape or form, but others have said plenty about it already.
I'm going to derail this topic a bit because something related annoys me. My biggest beef with the internet these days is both the overuse and the misuse of the term "emo". People use this term for everything these days. Anytime someone expresses an emotion other than utter indifference or a male character looks any more effeminate than a bald space marine, said person is going to be labeled emo by someone.
An excellent example is the recent controversy involving the Devil May Cry reboot.
What about this character is emo? He has black hair? He's slim? His hair doesn't even reach his eyes for Christ's sake. At best, his look is some variation of a traditional punk look and yet forums and comment boxes round the net were throwing out the "e" word as if it were a greeting.
I have more to type about this, but I'm tired, so I'll let it marinate.
edit:In other words, he was a total douche. High school is over for most of us, why do some insist on staying there?Originally Posted by Rufus
