    Yes it's quite possible you may just have an average virus. There's always plenty of germs around in the world to pick up from even the most unlikely of surfaces and places. Also, not all virus's have a fever as a symptom, some do, some don't. It can also depend on the body of the person as well. Me for instance, when I get sick I almost NEVER get a fever. In fact I don't believe I have had anything close to a 'bad' temperature since my younger ages of 10 and below.

    I also think that many people don't really get fevers when they have a cold. I know that I have had a cold/sore throat several times, but I don't think I have ever had a fever unless it was when I was pretty young that I can't remember it. I also have some friends who will not get a fever when they have a cold. In my opinion it is not that uncommon, but I am not a doctor.
