What do you like about the fall and winter season?

The lack of heat.

Been to Queensland? There's no Autumn. No proper Autumn like in some other states, at least. We have Summer and a very mild Winter here.

The summer is very very hot.

And the winter is... pleasantly cool at most.

I don't react well with heat for some reason. I sweat a lot. I get horrid and lethargic. Even my pups hate it, which means I can't play with them. The swimming pool gets overheated. I break out in heat rashes VERY easily. Which is horrid. I wake up with one most days in summer as I can't afford proper blockout curtains, so I'm laying in sun for a couple of hours before I wake up, which makes me really bad. [Sun rises at 4am in Summer here]. Once I slept in and woke up with heatstroke.

...I don't deal with heat. So that's what I like about Winter.

Have you tried getting black or white blinds? They're pretty cheap. My sister is the same, gets heatrash constantly. She used to sit up in our room a lot because the blinds kept the sun out. Of course, Australia's a lot hot, so I don't really know if they'd block much out. Still, though, they're cheap, so it might be worth a try.

I hate the heat, I'm so thankful I live in a pretty cool country. You can barely go a week without rain here.

I wonder if many of the Aussies here will leave the country when they're a bit older... I personally wouldn't leave England, not forever, anyway.

Yeah, thanks. I dunno. I had white blinds a while ago, but they were pretty flimsy. I need to get those good ones that have the extra layer of blockout material on the back. I actually have what were originally black curtains, or looked to be... However, I guess they were just too cheap. As soon as I put them up, light shone through and it was revealed that they were in fact a dark purple.

After Christmas when I have a little bit of money I'm thinking of just getting multiple curtains and layering them up. >.<
