The character seems almost like a dumbed down Homer.
And his often discriminatory views are also funny as hell...
Stewie would come next, an evil genius baby. He just ain't a typical character and is almost like an antihero in his actions...
And Chicken Suit Guy. Anyone remember the epic battle between Peter and Chicken Suit Guy?

I don't like when family guy is compared to the simpsons.. because family guy beats the simpsons anytime in my opinion... The Simpsons is just 'yeah whatever' to me these days >_>

I was basically trying to point out that Homer seems to be more bound by how a dumbed down drunk male should be, while Peter is over the top.
But that's what makes Family Guy so funny...
It's got some higher order satire in the mix.
